Supreme Paragon Reborn: Humanity’s Rise To Galactic Supremacy

Chapter 75: Domino Effect

While Michael had achieved unparalleled power in his past life, he never got his hands on a Mythic cybernetic such as this. Meaning he wasn't sure what to expect when activating it on the command center.

Instantly, an influx of information entered his head. Bypasser had not only successfully infiltrated the ship's network but had even managed to translate the alien's riddles in an understandable way.

'How the hell? Stopping Triton from being conquered changed the alien's plans this much?' He was unpleasantly surprised.

Originally, the battle for Neptune was meant to be drawn out for years. The humans stationed there would have suffered greatly from the lack of resources coming from Triton, leading to their ultimate demise.

However, from what Michael was seeing, they planned to intensify their efforts to take control over the planet.

'In hindsight, it makes sense. If Triton isn't under their control, they won't be able to draw out the battle as before. In their eyes, they have to completely conquer Neptune as fast as possible.'

The others looked around the room, trying to make out how the module worked, only to fail miserably.

"Are you okay?" By chance, the first one to notice Michael's pale expression was Roy. The lack of color on his face was from having pushed himself by using the technique two times in quick succession.

If someone were to hear that an Early Expert had used a Mythic technique two times in a row, they would dismiss it as mere rumors, since the very act should have marked the end of the Expert's life.

"Yes, just a bit tired." He replied. While he did have trust in his squad, the same couldn't be said about Roy.

Several hours later, the team gave up and decided to turn back.

"Michael?"

Victoria slowed down to match his pace. The change in his demeanor after touching the command center didn't fly past her.

"Did you learn something?" She asked.

Seeing him nod, her eyes enlarged slowly, connecting the dots.

'Now it makes sense he was able to warn me about the hidden portals and the approaching alien invasion because he is able to peek into their network!' The revelation struck her like a thunderbolt.

Despite not being as experienced as most Grandmasters were, she knew perfectly well how valuable such power was.

"Can you tell me what you saw?"

Out of all the people present, Victoria was the only one who knew he was the one who had sent the warning. Taking her loyalty into account, he concluded it was safe to tell her.

"I believe that Neptune would experience a great influx of attacks in the following weeks and months… Ones that they won't be able to stop."

In truth, the situation was so dire that he had even been given a quest.

[Quest: Liberate Neptune]

[Difficulty: Impossible]

[Task: A great threat lingers on the surface of Neptune. It's only a matter of time before it wipes out all human life. Prevent the aliens from taking full control of the planet.]

[Reward: Mythic cybernetic, 2000 Skill Points]

Unlike the Protect Triton quest, Liberate Neptune had been marked with the impossible difficulty from the very start. Not to mention that the reward was bigger as well.

"This is not good. From what you are saying, the situation there would be worse than Triton. Not to mention that I have no power there." Victoria's mind began to race; even with the fame of her faction, no one would listen to a general from another planet.

'Even worse, I am not a general now…' She sighed in displeasure.

"We will be fine." Michael reassured.

"Evelyn is a Peak Master and has been for a long time, right? It's only a matter of time until she becomes a Grandmaster. If the people under her improve, we can become a formidable force that will aid Neptune in the future."

She shook her head. "That would be true if we had enough time… But we don't. The way I see it, helping them is impossible."

Michael chuckled before pointing to himself. "Didn't you become a witness to how fast I became an Early Expert? By now you should know that nothing is impossible."

"..."

Not having a comeback, Victoria remained silent.

'He is right; how could I think that we are doomed before exhausting all of our options?'

Her eyes sharpened like that of a fearsome lioness.

"Hey, what are you talking about?" Ava, feeling left out, approached them.

"I will tell you when we are alone." He patted her on the head.

On the way back, they met with the other teams that had come to search for any information they could get.

Most had given up by now, realizing how hard it was to break past the simplest alien networks.

Once back at the base, Roy left their group, not bothering to speak with Evelyn, not having anything to tell her.

"There is something that I want to tell you."

With the coast clear, he filled in the members of his faction. Bryce and Claire were there since they had proven to be trustworthy enough.

"That is an interesting claim… Tell me, how could an Expert break past the alien network with such ease? Especially one that has no record of controlling a mecha." Claire didn't refute the words despite sounding ridiculous.

"It's a secret." He winked.

She raised an eyebrow at the gesture but remained silent. Everyone had their secrets.

"We can trust him." Bryce reasoned. He had full faith in Michael's abilities.

"If you say so." She shrugged.

Few would believe them since they had yet to make a name for their faction, but she trusted her grandfather.

Eager to make a plan of action, they went towards Evelyn to report their findings and decide their next steps.

Meanwhile, a certain duo's report had finally finished editing their footage following Victoria's orders.

"It's perfect!" Skylar praised, jumping from joy. She was already feeling the fame coming in.

"You could have helped a little more…" Luis complained with visible dark circles under his eyes.

"I was the emotional support!" She proclaimed.

Luis couldn't be bothered to argue. With a sigh, he uploaded their edited recording to the internet.

"Let's see how the world will react to the rise of the Indomitable Alliance!"
