Supreme Paragon Reborn: Humanity’s Rise To Galactic Supremacy

Chapter 76: Sparring with a Monster

The general's room was deadly quiet; Evelyn leaned back in her chair with closed eyes, contemplating what she had been told.

"How certain are you of that information, Victoria?" She questioned.

"Remember the anonymous message that warned me about the incoming invasion? The information came from the same source."

Michael had judged that they had a better chance of convincing Evelyn if she didn't know he was the one that had come up with the information. Few would believe a simple Early Expert. But an anonymous figure shrouded in mysteries was an entirely different matter.

Seeing that Evelyn was considering the information made Victoria sigh in relief. Naturally, the two were the only ones that were in the room at the moment.

"Even if what you say is true, it won't change much." Evelyn said.

"At the end of the day, we all have to get stronger in order to liberate Neptune… We would just have to speed up our efforts severalfold."

Sadly, even if Victoria could prove her claim, it wouldn't really be accepted by the other higher-ups. The reason was simple; humanity had already given up on Neptune. That was the reason for the lackluster support for the battle of Triton in the first place.

If they couldn't rely on others, they had only themselves.

Victoria nodded. "Thank you for your trust."

"Don't mention it. Now please leave; I have to go back to cultivating. I can feel I'm extremely close to enlightenment."

With the quick exchange done, Victoria informed the squad of Evelyn's decision.

"Since we are on a time constraint, we can't linger for too long." Michael said. Time not spent training was time wasted.

"Monstrous work ethic." Enzo sneered; his pride was naturally wounded after learning that Michael was able to infiltrate the alien's network. He was not only weaker than his leader but also had fewer skills in pretty much all areas.

'His ability has to be the reason for his power gain! He must be getting all kinds of alien secrets thanks to it!' Enzo concluded.

"Young man."

Before Michael could begin his training, he was called out by Bryce.

"Seeing your efforts for the human race has greatly moved me. I was under the assumption that everyone had given up on the last planet in the solar system… It's nice that someone has other plans and is willing to act upon them." The old man admitted.

"That is why I am going back to the Heavenly Pact headquarters in the hope of recruiting help."

Claire was puzzled by her grandfather's reaction; she had wanted to make him go back for a long time now.

'Who would've thought that a planetary war was going to do the trick?' She felt a weight drop from her heart. Usually Bryce acted unpredictably, and in the last few weeks things had been even more chaotic than normal.

'All because of one man…' During the little time Claire had spent with Michael, she had arrived at several conclusions. He was a battle maniac, cold-hearted, and able to forsake pain and instinct for self-preservation in the name of achieving his goal.

It was at the point where most would wonder if he was really human.

"Yet he is the most efficient warrior I have ever seen; those walking beside him are proof enough of that." She mumbled.

Bidding their farewell, Bryce and Claire took off.

Before Evelyn entered her chamber to begin cultivating, she assigned every Master and Expert with their duties.

Their task was to train the common troops. If the army of mostly Early Apprentices managed to reach the Adept realm, their prowess would be able to challenge even the forces on Neptune themselves.

"It's going to be a struggle to train so many soldiers." Michael complained. His past life was mostly lonely, having only a select few at his side. Training a group and an army was a vastly different endeavor, and for the first time in a while, he found himself lacking experience.

"I will rely on you." He turned to Victoria; she was the most knowledgeable about the matter, considering her background.

'So there are indeed things that he has yet to master.' Victoria thought with a slight smile.

She was assigned to oversee the training of more than 10,000 personnel, while Michael was going to focus on increasing the might of his faction.

"Just you watch, I will get so strong that you will forever be looking at my back!" Ava proclaimed, excited that she was going to train with him.

"Being taught by my rival? I am not going to refuse such a generous offer!" Enzo puffed his chest in pride.

Amelia arched an eyebrow. "You know that to be rivals, you have to be close in skill at something, right? Up until now, Michael has left you in the dust."

Enzo's face flushed from embarrassment, causing Leo to burst into laughter.

"I am in your capable hands, Master~" Ava teased as she pointed her giant hammer towards him.

"Master?" Michael was surprised by the title.

"You are more skilled at fighting; it's only right that I refer to you as such!"

Michael let out a sigh.

"Call me whatever you want. Now for your training, it's simple…"

He summoned Devil's Tongue before resting it on his shoulder nonchalantly.

"Team up and try to beat me." He proclaimed.

"..."

"Here I come!" Enzo exclaimed, equipping his two gauntlets. He pounced on Michael without any hesitation.

"I wonder how you will fare against my electricity." Amelia murmured, her left cybernetic arm extending forward like a whip.

"God help me survive this training." Leo mumbled, joining the fray.

Boom!

Rather than speaking, Ava had already begun to attack Michael with her weapon, eager to beat him.

The moment her eyes settled on him, a smile tugged at his lips, his eyes turning crimson.

[Berserker activated]

[Dash activated]

"Try to keep up."

Moving so fast that he left afterimages, Michael met the onslaught of his team, slowly pushing them to their limit.

The curious onlookers didn't linger, fearing that they might be hit if they stayed for too long.

With no one daring enough to interrupt them, the Indomitable Alliance continued their training until the sky turned dark.
