God of Contracts: I Can Trade Anything

Chapter 32: Tursos’ Illusion the Deal

Weapons!

The little "bean sprout" in front of him, barely 1.2 meters tall, was in charge of the dojo's arms trade?

"What's wrong? Do you look down on me? Pervert! Most of the weapons at the dojo are ones I've made. You better not..." Britney began, but stopped, her face lighting up with pleasure.

That's because Bruno had called her 'Senior Sister' a few more times.

Bruno then took out the alchemical handgun he had gotten from the assassin and handed it to Britney, signaling he wanted to sell it.

"Tsk tsk, look at this rough craftsmanship. I knew it was a shoddy product made by Heavenly Gang. The Celestial Beast bone content is low, and the alchemical bullets are probably cheap too." Britney spoke with absolute expertise.

Bruno immediately latched onto the important part of what she said.

"Wait, Celestial Beast bones?" Bruno looked at Britney.

Britney nodded. Celestial Beasts were a crucial resource for the Federation. Powerful Arcane Power alchemical weapons depended on them.

"You didn't know? Stanford Count has a powerful Arcane Power alchemical puppet that contains the core of a Celestial Beast. Ordinary Arcane Power Masters are no match for it."

Britney revealed something Bruno didn't know.

An Arcane Power alchemical puppet?

It hit Bruno then how little his former Baron status really meant. He was only a little stronger than the average person.

"This alchemical handgun is worth at most 600 gold coins. Since you called me 'Senior Sister' a few times, I'll give you 650 gold coins. How about that?" Britney said.

Bruno nodded. 650 gold coins. That was enough to buy ten more servings of special food. Which meant he could use the Book of All Things again.

"By the way, Britney, does our dojo sell Celestial Beast blood?" Bruno asked, curious about whether Celestial Beast blood could affect the Book of All Things.

"Don't even think about it. Even at the dojo, there's no spare Celestial Beast blood for you."

"Celestial Beasts are an extremely important strategic resource. Their meat helps Warlock-Warriors increase their strength, their bones are used to make Arcane Power alchemical weapons, and their hides are used to make Arcane Power alchemical armor. Only nobles are qualified to own those." Britney explained slowly.

This wasn't good news. The only known material that could speed up the Book of All Things's cooldown was Celestial Beast meat.

Bruno had no choice but to accept this. He wanted to ask more about the Celestial Beasts, but Britney was already getting back to work, not answering his questions anymore.

Even when Bruno called her 'Senior Sister' a few more times, Britney still sent him to the door.

Bruno had just planned to head downstairs when he unexpectedly bumped into Tursos and Elena, who were talking outside Master Nell's room.

"Heavenly Gang hasn't made any major moves yet. They're probably still gathering information. Keep an eye out these next few days," Tursos instructed.

Bruno gave a brief nod, then headed down the stairs. He still needed to find a suitable trading partner.

Tursos watched as Bruno walked down the stairs. Just as he was about to speak, he suddenly sensed something and quickly moved toward the stairs.

"What's wrong, Tursos?" Elena asked, confused.

Tursos answered uncertainly, "I feel like Bruno has gotten stronger again, but his Warlock-Warrior level is still 2nd stage."

His Warlock-Warrior level hadn't changed, but he could sense that Bruno had grown stronger. That meant his Meditation Technique or breathing methods must have improved.

Could it be that Bruno's The Ten Thousand Hells was perfected?

How is that possible?

Bruno was only sixteen years old and had just become a 2nd stage Warlock. Meanwhile, Tursos himself was already at 12th stage, waiting for The Ten Thousand Hells High Rank to break through and become an Arcane Power Master.

"It's nothing, probably just my imagination," Tursos said slowly.

Elena looked at Tursos, then remembered when she saw Bruno earlier today. Her mouth slowly dropped open in disbelief.

"Tursos, is it possible... that it's not just your imagination?"

Tursos shook his head and answered, "Impossible. Master said that a perfected The Ten Thousand Hells requires a lot of time to build up. Very few can achieve it so quickly."

"It must be my imagination," he added.

Elena took a deep breath and spoke slowly, "I also felt Bruno has gotten much stronger today."

Instantly, Tursos turned to face her, locking eyes.

Without a word, they both turned to look at Master Nell's room and shouted in unison, "Master!"

"2nd stage Warlock-Warrior, Henry Borg, forty years old, suffering from a strange disease that causes his body to rot constantly, unable to be treated. He can only wait for death."

Bruno looked at the information in his hands, his brows furrowed. This situation was a bit like the illness Elise's mother had.

A 40-year-old 2nd stage Warlock-Warrior wasn't a very ideal target. He was too young, and he probably hadn't had much time to train in cultivation methods.

But in the tumor hospital in District Eight, Henry was the only patient close to death who had reached 2nd stage Warlock-Warrior strength.

To avoid falling into the brink of death or being consumed by despair, it's hard to willingly make a deal.

It's like a healthy and wealthy person suddenly being approached by a demon, wanting to buy their health or something else.

Would they agree? It's almost impossible to imagine.

Bruno needed his target to be in a state of despair. Only then could he gain a better advantage in the deal.

This included Elise. Bruno had exchanged Elise's contact information but hadn't bothered to reach out to her again.

What he wanted was to make Elise more worried, more desperate, more anxious.

"Too bad, this Henry Borg doesn't have any outstanding battle experience. If he did, it'd be much easier. Let's go take a look anyway."

In the tumor hospital, in Henry Borg's hospital room.

Bruno frowned, pinched his nose, and looked at Henry Borg lying on the bed. He couldn't help but feel disgusted.

Because the person lying there wasn't really a person anymore—it was more like a lump of rotten mud with a human head!

The stench of decay filled the entire room, making it hard to resist the urge to vomit and run away.

Bruno slowly approached Henry Borg. His arms and legs had already decayed into a muddy mixture, like rotten meat full of maggots left in a high-temperature place.

"You… who are you?" Henry Borg mumbled, looking at the old man approaching him. His tongue was already starting to rot.

Henry coughed, then spoke slowly in Bolantie's voice, "The world calls me an angel."

"An... angel?" Henry Borg didn't show any particular emotion.

It was clear that this person, who was being tormented by this strange disease, didn't know anything about the God-King Cult.

Bruno continued, "That's right, I come from the divine realm, to this world, to guide and save all those who suffer."

Henry Borg's eyes suddenly lit up. He opened his mouth, as if he wanted to say something, but then slowly shook his head and spoke quietly:

"There are no angels, it's all fake. No one can cure my illness. I can only wait for death to come."

The man was completely in despair.

Bruno's spiritual power slowly spread, and he made his God Realm match the hospital room perfectly.

Then, his body started to lift off the ground, a faint light shining from behind him.

In Henry Borg's wide eyes, a pair of huge, holy wings suddenly unfolded from Bruno's back.

"I can free you from your suffering." Bruno spoke slowly.

After completing The Divine Sun Sutra, Bruno's The Ten Thousand Hells Meditation Technique now had eight forms: Luminous Bone, Bone Rebirth, Giant Bone Form, Blood Demon Form, Rot Chaos Form, Beast Devour Form, Bone Rot Form, and Bone Tomb Form.

He had already mastered Luminous Bone, which could enhance his breathing techniques, and Bone Rebirth, which increased his physical strength.

And Henry Borg's rotting disease happened to match another form, Rot Chaos Form.

In The Divine Sun Sutra, practicing Rot Chaos Form required the body to rot little by little.

Bruno hadn't known what to do before, but now, it felt like he had found a "shortcut."

Of course, if things got dangerous, he could always use the Book of All Things again to trade away Henry Borg's disease.

There would always be someone willing to do anything for money.

But doing that would waste one of the chances to use the Book of All Things.

Henry Borg was just a 2nd-stage Warlock-Warrior. He'd never seen a God Realm before, and now he fully believed that the angel before him was a divine messenger sent by the gods.

So, the whole transaction went smoothly.

When Henry Borg's rotting finger pressed against the Book of All Things, it shone brightly.

Soon, his body, once decaying, quickly restored itself to normal.

And Bruno got what he wanted, though with a slight twist.

The Book of All Things displayed Henry Borg's 20 years of Meditation Technique and breathing practice time, 10 years of cultivation method time, and something called Nidhogg's Breath.

"Not the rotting disease? Nidhogg? The poisonous dragon from myth that coils around the roots of the World Tree?" Bruno thought, feeling a bit puzzled.

He knew a little about Nidhogg, but not enough to fully understand it.

Not lingering for long, Bruno quickly returned to his place.

"Contract, activate!" He needed to increase his strength!
