Dragon of Catastrophe

Chapter 117: One Year Later and the Demon Onslaught

Thus, time slowly passed.

Soon, it was a year's time.

The back hill of a small town quite close to Black King City.

Here lay corpses all over the ground, and dried blood formed a thick layer of blood scale covering the surface, creating a domain of blood.

The pungent smell of blood continuously spread out, attracting countless wild beasts, but those beasts only dared to watch from afar, not daring to come a step closer.

At the central location.

A woman, her face shrouded in black mist, with red, eerie runes constantly moving across it, stood on the blood-red earth, looking fanatically at the ground.

A magic array constructed of countless blood and twisted souls emitted an exhilarating shout:

"It succeeded! Finally succeeded! The teleportation array linked to the abyss is finally complete! Over a year! I've finally completed it!

Land Saphis Oakben, your death day has come! Father! Watch well from heaven as I send this Evil Dragon down to hell!"

"Heh heh heh~ Ha ha ha~ Finally! Finally! I can once again descend upon the Ayo Continent in my true form!

All creatures of the Ayo Continent! Prepare for the slaughter of me, Zod Nelok! Your souls! Will all belong to me!

Ha ha ha!

From the abyss, o gate! Manifest here! My demon army! Come forth!"

The goat-bone skull floating by the woman's side laughed eerily and roared wildly.

In an instant, dark clouds covered the sky, streaks of lightning slithered, thunder echoed, and the frenzied cries began to howl.

The magic array on the ground emitted a bloody red glow.

A circular black hole teleportation gate silently appeared, then slowly began to enlarge.

"Gah gah gah gah~"

"Zie zie zie zie!"

"Woo la la la!"

Strange and eerie screams echoed from the teleportation gate, harsh and piercing; merely hearing them made people instinctively repulsed.

One by one, demons with small statures, about half a meter tall, with red skin, resembling mischievous children, with no hair but some fine horns on their heads, displaying grotesque expressions, flapped Demon's Wings, wielding iron forks, and flew out.

These were Little Demons, classified as level 0.5 cannon fodder demons in the Ayo Continent monster manual.

Their nature is vicious, violent, and fond of mischief.

"My demon army! Slaughter! Destroy! Annihilate everything you see!"

The goat skull howled.

The Little Demons cackled as they flooded towards the town below the mountain!

In the originally peaceful small town.

Some villagers were still walking the streets, when suddenly the sky dimmed, they looked up, and saw a swarm of Little Demons covering the sky, rushing towards them!

All villagers were shocked, letting out piercing screams.

"Monsters! Monsters have appeared! Help! Lord, save us!"

"Ah! It's demons! The demons have descended! We're all done for!"

The villagers screamed as they began to flee, some escaping to their homes, locking themselves in tightly while barricading the door with furniture, hoping to block the demons.

Others hid under blankets, covering their bodies tightly, trembling with fear.

Some even fled directly towards the outskirts of the village.

And some ran to the noble estate to report to the nobility.

"Gah gah gah! Hee hee hee hee!"

The Little Demons, seeing the villagers' terrified expressions, let out joyful laughter.

They flapped their bat wings, diving straight down, plunging their steel forks into the bodies of those trying to escape.

Sizzle sizzle sizzle~

Pop pop pop~

"Ahhhh!"

"Help! Help! Someone save us!"

The sound of steel forks piercing human bodies and the screams and cries for help from humans merged into one.

This made the expressions on the Little Demons' faces even more joyful!

However, this situation did not last long.

A bolt of azure lightning suddenly appeared, instantly spreading out like a web, enveloping a dozen Little Demons, electrocuting them until smoke rose from their bodies, and they fell to the ground wailing.

A caster wearing a mage's robe arrived with a group of soldiers in armor.

Lightning constantly burst from the caster's hand, striking down the Little Demons one after another, yelling:

"Everyone calm down! These are just Little Demons! Everyone pick up your weapons! Don't be afraid! Trust us! Trust yourselves! We can definitely defeat these Little Demons!"

"Everyone! Charge! Kill these demon scum! Let them see our might!"

The Guard Captain beside him raised his longsword, shouted, and quickly charged forward.

Their longswords were extremely powerful and sharp, able to kill a Little Demon with a single strike!

While the steel forks of the Little Demons, stabbing the guards, could hardly harm those wearing armor.

For a while, this group of Little Demons were unexpectedly suppressed by a hundred guards, able only to fly in the air and scream, not daring to land.

This brought a sigh of relief to many guards.

But the relief did not last long.

A large batch of disgusting insect-like demons, with charred red bodies and lengths of three meters, began crawling down from nearby mountains!

Their hissing filled the air, and their mouths, lined with sharp teeth, occasionally dripped green liquid, causing the ground to sizzle, and flowers and trees to wilt and die directly under this liquid!

"Not good! More monsters are coming!"

"Damn it! It's the Insect Demons!"

Someone among the guards screamed with fear, momentarily losing their composure.

But encouraged by the Guard Captain and some professionals, they engaged in battle with the group of Insect Demons.

However, the results were not good.

The ordinary guards' battles against the Insect Demons could not gain the upper hand.
