Dungeon of Lust: Managing Otherworldly Beauties

Chapter 70: Envy on the Periphery

'3… 2…1…'

Just as Vale had predicted, the misty door crept open on its own, and in it an ever-expanding black plane shone darkly against the white background. No matter how much Vale stared, he couldn't see a thing on the other side.

Vale was a little worried about leaving the dungeon behind once again to enter the unknown, but his Legion was strong enough to defend the place without him. The more pressing matter was whether he would ever return…

Vale gave a fleeting look to Six, the warrior who was to watch over him, and stepped inside.

Instantly, his senses were once again overridden, but they returned much quicker this time. When they returned, he found himself standing alone with an ornate round table far off in the distance.

Vale squinted his eyes and looked at the seven colorful thrones, then began his saunter toward them. As he got closer and closer, he couldn't help but notice Wrath wasn't there yet… but someone else was.

Well, Sloth was there. But besides her, there was someone in a quite scandalous emerald dress that showed off her ample bosom and thick green hair that draped over her shoulders, sitting on the green throne. She wore a piercing gaze on her slender face, and her eyes shone the same green as Toy's, but this green was much more vibrant. Much more… violating.

As Vale got closer, the woman in green looked over at him with a haughty gaze. While he couldn't be entirely sure, he was reasonably certain she was—

'Envy…'

Vale finished his walk, sat down on the pink throne, and looked at the beautiful woman in blue with long ears who was sleeping; then his gaze drifted once again to Envy, who, for some ill-begotten reason, had a disgusted look on her face when their eyes locked.

"I'm surprised you're alive…"

'Huh?'

'Who the fuck greets a person they've never met like that?'

Thankfully, unlike with Wrath, Vale wasn't all too afraid of Envy. He didn't know how he could tell, but she definitely wasn't too powerful. She was undoubtedly stronger, but she possessed nowhere near the domineering force Wrath carried with him.

"What does that mean?"

Envy grimaced, then responded:

"I'm just surprised some barbarian who walks around shirtless could survive a single day in this accursed world. You seem pitifully weak. You haven't even cracked 100 Aether shards, have you? And you've been here for almost a month? Pitiful."

Vale just rolled his eyes at the green-themed wicked woman. But as much as he wanted an amicable relationship, he couldn't resist throwing out a comeback.

"Keep quiet and go back to swimming with the fishes in your dungeon."

"How do—" Envy shrank back for a second but maintained her composure. "And you can go back to eye fucking anything that moves. Do you think I haven't noticed where you've been staring…"

'Ah shit… she got me there.'

'But that reaction…'

'It seems she is definitely Envy. And that boy, Laertes, wasn't lying. Envy's dungeon is submerged, or at least surrounded by water.'

"There's not much to stare at…"

A moment later, the dormant crystal that had been sitting colorless in the middle of the table shone a radiant red. A holographic line shot from it and pierced Vale's chest, but it didn't hurt.

The tensed up Envy nearly let out a laugh as she looked at the crystal. When her fit subsided, she spoke:

"Don't try and lie here… that crystal will detect it."

As much as Vale was ashamed, which was not at all, that information was actually quite useful…

It meant he could trust what Wrath had said before. Of course, that was assuming Wrath couldn't lie undetected and that the crystal had been active before — if the crystal could even be deactivated.

There was much he still had to learn about this realm and the Masters of Vice…

As Vale continued to stare at Envy's nearly bare breasts without restraint, he heard the clinking of heels and jangling of jewels drawing close to the table.

'How is…'

Envy tilted her head toward the noise, then cursed:

"Damn it, the bitch survived too…"

Vale temporarily ignored Envy's weird hate boner for them and gazed upon the source of the heel clicks and clanking metal.

Walking through the black expanse was a tall blonde woman wearing an ornate golden dress. Her dangling earrings jumped with each step and crashed together. The path before her was literal gold she summoned to cause the clinking effect. This golden path would quickly disappear once she walked over it, dissolving into the void.

The blonde woman with flowing hair that fell to the crest of her back reached the table and eloquently took a seat on the yellow throne.

She slowly closed her glowing golden eyes, then reopened them with a smile on her face. She spread her arms and greeted Vale while ignoring Envy completely:

"You must be Lust. I'm Greed, it's a pleasure to meet you."

Instantly, the crystal flashed red and shot a beam into Greed's chest, who gave no mind to it. Vale was sure she hadn't lied about being Greed. Everything about her gave off that vibe. So…

'Am I that repulsive? But everyone whom I've met has loved me thus far!'

Vale couldn't help but wonder whether all his positive interactions were genuine or born of his Trait, but he quickly decided it didn't matter. The Masters of Vice were all bound to be shitty people. He'd rather be disliked than liked by them. It was a testament to his remaining humanity.

"It's a pleasure to meet you, too."

The crystal shone crimson again and shot a thin beam into Vale's chest.

Then, a man spoke, a chill permeating the room alongside his metallic voice.

"Good to see you're all getting along so well…"

Wrath, decked out in his gothic metal armor, had arrived and sat down on his onyx throne.

"Since we're all here, we can get started…"

'All?'

'Did Wrath just say all? What about Pride and Gluttony?'
