Jimmy was very close to crashing down. He was tired, he was sleepy, and yet, he was outside of the cavern, very close to where the pet dinosaurs of the hunters rested on. The pets hung around a hundred meters, or over three-hundred feet away from the cavern, so they were close by.
He came out here for two reasons. First things first, he started getting very nervous one hour after Anna left. To him, this felt like a million years, because he feared that Anna would get lost out there, and potentially never find her way back home. If he lost the only person he knew in his past life, then his life here would be boring, sad, and absolutely unfulfilling!
He shuttered at the thought, it scared him more than any big predator could, so he came out here, and waited for her to come back home. He was hoping that he'd see her soon.
The second reason why he was out here, was because he wanted to check on Gutaxun. Gutty was the first dinosaur he tamed, so of course, he had a strong bond with him, and he was worried that Gutty would get bored now that he had nothing to do, or even hungry, because he might not hunt unless Jimmy told him to. He didn't want his pet to go hungry, but despite his worries, he found Gutty sleeping, way past noon.
This wasn't a surprise. Gutaxun had put in the most work during the past couple of days. There was a point where he had carried seven people on his back, despite the fact that he only weighed two tons himself, so naturally, he was tired. He was pooped.
"Sleep well, boy," He gently rubbed his pet's snout. "You earned it."
Afterwards, he looked up, and saw this large, dinosaur head, watching him from above. It was Rampage, the large Argentinosaurus that Zik had tamed all by himself.
Rampage intimidated him quite a bit, specifically because he had scanned its brain before, just slightly, and so he knew just what this monster of a dinosaur was capable of. Rampage was capable of extreme violence, so at this point, it was almost suspicious that he wasn't committing any violent acts, and even went far enough to look out for his new, and of course smaller, dinosaur friends. It was uncanny.
Then again, he had no other choice but to hope Rampage wouldn't hurt anyone. He was sure that he wouldn't be able to do anything if Rampage decided to rampage, because his heart was too big to attack, and his brain too big, too complicated to change. Jimmy would need to be about ten times stronger than he was now, if he wanted to fight Rampage, or, if one day he found himself fighting this beast.
"You better behave, you big bastard." He spoke, his voice low.
Afterwards, he turned around, and looked up in the sky, hoping that Anna was going to fly down here soon. He didn't see her, and instead, he saw Zik approaching.
The first thing he said as he got closer, was, "Thanks for fixing my dick, kid. Cika has been riding it all damn morning."
"You're welcome," He chuckled. "Surprisingly, I had to fix three dicks this morning. Why the hell is dick loss a common thing? Did you old folks fish with your dicks or something?"
"Yes…. before we quit fishing altogether, our elders had unusual fishing methods." Zik said. "We landed some nice fish with our dicks many moons ago, but there's always a chance you'll lose it to a bigger fish. Trust me on this, if the rest of our hunters weren't killed, you'd be healing a lot more dicks today. You got lucky, unfortunately."
"Well, you guys should let the River Fatties do the fishing from now on." He smiled.
"Right," Zik chuckled. "Can't say I'm against that, haha!"
Afterwards, Zik asked, "What are you doing out here? No one will bother your meat eaters with Rampage here."
"Nah," He waved his hand. "Rampage is surprisingly protective, I can see that, so I'm not worried. I mostly came here to wait for Anna, cause I sent her to look for something."
"She's not looking for giants, is she?" Zik frantically asked. "Me and Rampage are gonna go out tomorrow, and hunt each and every one of them down."
"No… she's not looking for giants." He answered, and then he processed what Zik said, and therefore, he had to request. "How about we don't hunt the giants for now? Too many hunters abandoned the tribe, so, in case they end up in other tribes, and tell them that our hunters were wiped out, they might come to the grasslands, and try to take our hunting grounds."
"So… you want to let the giants deal with any jackass that wants our lands?" Zik added. "That's fucking smart, I admit it, you're too smart for us."
"You got that right," He chuckled, thinking of his upcoming from back on Earth. "If Anna finds what I'm looking for, you're gonna think I'm the smartest man on the planet."
"I don't know what this 'planet' is, but I'll take your word for it." Zik said. "I'm waiting to be impressed by whatever you're looking for."
Zik and Jimmy waited outside for another hour. After Zik noticed that Jimmy was distressed, he hung around just to keep him company. He talked about old hunting stories, some funny, some horrible, and he even mentioned how some of the esteemed elders fucked 'leaf chewers' because they believed it would improve their magic, which sounded as horrifying as it was hilarious, and with stories like that, those sixty minutes passed by quickly. Zik was a gem towards people he considered friends, as under those conditions, he was very open, and chatty.
At last, Jimmy saw Bonita soaring across the sky. He felt relief, but only for a short moment.
Jimmy noticed that Bonita was flying towards them, towards the ground, far too fast! She then crash landed across the hard, rocky grounds, and this was when he made two, horrible discoveries.
Bonita had broken her claw on her right wing, which forced her to crash land. She could barely fly, and hurt herself even more after she crash landed. She broke many bones, was coated in blood, and was close to death.
Secondly, Anna was not on Bonita's back! Bonita came here alone, cawing in panic.
"Where the hell did you send your lady?!" Zik shouted, under more panic than Bonita herself. "She didn't fly past the impassable mountain range, did she?!"
Jimmy got so worried that he could barely stand on his own two feet. Between Anna missing, Zik yelling, and Bonita cawing in desperation, he was so overwhelmed that the world around him felt like a single, small cube! He froze in place.
