Godslayer VR

Chapter 56: endless desert(2)

The sun stood high in the sky. The sand beneath it was boiling. Shadows of a chain could be seen moving through the sand. It was Fie's chains. She let them rest on the ground and dragged them behind her. Hero stood beside her. Terry and Ice stood next to the two of them, but they did not speak. No one spoke except Fie.

"I have to kill someone. I promised it."

Fie spoke in a sad yet determined tone. Hero tilted his head slightly.

"Why?"

Fie looked at Hero. She thought about an answer and then spoke calmly.

"Before that room, I was traveling with two guys. One of them was…"

She stopped and looked to the right, as if she wanted to avoid eye contact.

"One of them was my brother. The other was a friend we had known for a long time. And he killed my brother and injured me badly. That dog will pay for it."

Fie's expression was heavy, full of burden, but also filled with anger. Hero nodded.

"Yes. He will."

No one spoke after that, and the four of them could not know what was happening to Mike at the same time.

Mike sat on his throne and waited for a message from the assistant. After a few minutes, he received one immediately. The system activated.

"Message from assistant. I found one with overwhelming strength. They call him the White Blitz. Activate the swap and you will be in the server."

Mike showed an evil grin. He closed his eyes and concentrated. Immediately, he switched places with the assistant. The blue creature landed on the throne. It stayed seated and grinned. It seemed to enjoy sitting on the throne. It felt like a king.

Mike landed in the sand. He immediately looked at his surroundings. Endless sand stretched around him, and four staring faces were fixed on him. Mike lay on the ground and moved his head, examining each of the four people. There were two girls and two boys. They all looked around Mike's age, sixteen to seventeen, at most eighteen.

There were two archers, the two girls. They had their bows drawn and aimed at Mike. There was also a knight wearing gray armor with two swords. And then there was one more. He had a refined face, long white hair, and a sword as thin as a needle. The boy held one hand toward the ground and spoke calmly and majestically.

"Are you alright? Can you stand?"

Mike knew immediately that he hated him and wanted to kill him. And indeed, it was him. The admin was here. Mike had the advantage. The boy had no idea that Mike was an admin, but Mike knew that the boy was one. Well, almost one hundred percent.

Mike formed a plan. He pretended to be weak. He began to tremble and carefully took the boy's hand. Mike spoke shakily and almost unintelligibly.

"Th-thank-you."

The white haired boy spoke to Mike immediately.

"We are on day three, so we still have to survive for twenty seven days. Are you alright?" the boy asked again.

Mike wanted to kill him as quickly as possible. All that fake kindness annoyed him deeply. Still, Mike replied in a normal tone.

"Yes, I am fine. Thanks."

Mike forced a smile. They were not supposed to recognize his strength from his equipment. He had taken off his Titan armor and was wearing only a simple leather tunic and pants. He had no sword.

Mike stood up and watched as the group began to discuss among themselves. He listened closely. The group moved a bit farther away, but Mike's senses had tripled, so he heard them loud and clear.

From the knight came a sentence that made Mike furious.

"He is weak. He probably had to sacrifice a lot just to get here. Let's kill him."

The two archers nodded and agreed.

"Maybe we really should kill him, Zrila."

The girl looked at the white haired boy. Zrila was his name. Mike wanted to forget that name as quickly as possible.

Mike was just about to reveal his power and kill them all, but he stopped himself. He wanted to see what would happen first.

How would Zrila decide?

After a short moment of consideration, the boy nodded. He seemed to agree with killing the stranger. Mike had lost his patience. He was just about to prepare himself when suddenly the sky turned black. The glowing moon appeared. Everyone looked up. No one spoke.

Just as Mike was about to move, a huge and violent creature shot out of the sand. Massive amounts of sand were thrown into the air. At first it looked like a worm, but no, it was a snake. This long creature had a head with a wide open mouth, a massive tongue, and large fangs sticking out. Yes, without a doubt, it was a snake.

Suddenly the knight shouted, "The sand snake!"

Those were his last words. The snake twisted through the air to the left and landed directly on the knight. It crushed him within seconds. A loud roar filled the air as the snake drilled itself back into the sand.

The archers fired at the snake, but it was too late. It had already disappeared beneath the sand again. The ground trembled, making it possible to tell where it would emerge next.

Zrila pulled a white sword out of his inventory and shouted, "Watch out!"

But it was already too late. Beneath one of the archers, the sand exploded. A massive hole formed, and she was dragged down into the depths.

Zrila immediately dodged and landed right next to Mike.

The sand snake was a gigantic creature. Its skin was pale white, its scales thick and probably hard to pierce. Mike looked at Zrila and asked the boy, "Do you have a sword?"

Zrila nodded. "Here. Take this."

The boy pulled a second sword out of his inventory. It was a normal silver sword. Mike did not thank him. He simply took it in his hand.

Now Mike decided to stop hiding his aura and his strength. As if on cue, the snake shot up into the air.

Mike could kill it now.
