"I choose task number 10," Alaric said.
The guild attendant frowned for a moment before asking again.
"Are you sure? This is a C-Rank task. You must slay a horde of goblins… They're pretty strong."
She grabbed her iPad and showed the screen to Alaric…All of the traits of monsters appeared in front of Alairc.
"Instead, I recommend you take an E-Rank task. The monsters you'll face there are just the small fry."
However, no matter what the guild attendant said, Alaric kept his intention to choose the C-Rank task. He knew clearly his power, there was no need for wasting time to kill some weak monsters.
Powerlessly, the young girl sighed and guided Alaric to the place where the hunters were gathering, hoping the master guild's fiancé would be fine.
After around ten minutes, he arrived at the meeting spot and glanced at his new hunter fellows.
There were two people already there, and another guy was on his way.
A girl with red hair and a playful expression greeted Alaric with a smile.
"Hello! Child of God. I'm Willa."
Then she added in a cheerful tone,
"I've watched all your performances. Honestly, your level isn't far from my sword style. I hope we can have a match in the future."
Alaric frowned a bit, then shrugged. Whatever that girl said, he didn't really care.
''I hope so.''
Then he turned his attention to the muscular man with the big build… he gave off the same vibe Alaric sensed from that muscular bitch of Leonard clan, yet this man was pretty quiet and reserved. He just glanced at Alaric and nodded politely.
"Cress."
Alaric nodded back.
Finally, another man arrived. He looked pretty ordinary, but there was something strange about him that Alaric couldn't place.
"My name is Matt."
After introducing themselves, everyone began moving toward the guild's private jet, departing for the outside circle of the world.
Well, basically, the distance between the center of the inside circle and the outside circle was pretty far, so using a jet made sense.
They had saved quite a lot of time traveling to the outside circle of the world and arrived there in around half a day.
It was an exciting journey for Alaric… because he finally saw the real, current face of the world. Indeed, only by witnessing it with his own eyes could he truly grasp the whole picture of the world… a world that was collapsing.
The outside circle was entirely different from the inside circle.
What words could he even use to describe this place?
Everything was ruined by monsters… everywhere, in the collapsed buildings, he could see non-summoners.
Most of them were pale and weak, looking like the same pathetic state of a slave he himself had once been in.
"Tch. If I'd given up on the challenge of the Nameless God, my fate… could've been like theirs," Alaric muttered bitterly.
Then, he blinked when he saw one of the non-summoners—a bony girl—walking toward them. She knelt and prayed in a weak voice.
"P-Please… would you give me a little food? My son is dying."
Before Willa could say anything, Matt had already handed the bony girl a big food supply and smiled brightly.
"Here. It's yours now."
The wretched girl burst into sobs at Matt's compassion. Quickly taking the food, she slowly walked away.
Alaric just frowned.
"We're only doing the task for one day, but it looks like he prepared enough food supplies for a whole month."
He shrugged. "Never mind, there's always some kind of person who lives for everyone else."
After 30 minutes of walking across the ruined city, they finally came to the place where the horde of goblins was rampaging and camping.
Willa spoke up as she assessed the terrain where the goblins were gathered.
"We should split into two groups to handle the pack of them."
Then she glanced playfully at Alaric and said,
"You and I will be a group."
Matt stepped forward, his voice full of caution and calculated thoughts.
"I think so too. But I recommend splitting the groups based on our summons. As far as I know, a group won't work well if there're two fighter-type summons in it."
"I have an archer summon, so I'll fit better with Alaric than you."
Cress, speaking for the first time after many times, finally broke his silence.
"I agree. We need to stay alert. Who knows, a command-level goblin might appear. We need perfect groups."
Willa scowled and pouted. She couldn't refuse—it was true.
"Fine!"
Alaric just yawned, ignoring them since he had other things to care about right now.

"What?" Alaric's frown deepened as he looked at the Life-or-Death Mission. There was something else here that could end up killing him.
[Life-or-Death Mission]: An assassin has come here for you. Disguised as a hunter, he's searching for you. Prove your power before that brutal and insolent assassin.
Alaric sighed and glanced at his fellow hunters. He had no clue about any of them. One of them might actually be the assassin.
But who would send an assassin after him? He knew assassins only moved when someone paid them… people who killed anyone for money.
He didn't care too much about who did it anyway. Ever since the demon king cursed him, anyone could be someone who hated him for no reason.
"Well, at least I'll stay alert until you reveal yourself."
He clicked his tongue. He knew the traits of assassins—he had watched and read too much about them. They were the kind who acted from the shadows and killed their prey without a sound.
The moment Alaric dropped his guard, he'd die without even knowing why.
[Normal Mission]: A pack of goblins is ruining this city. Kill 300 goblins to protect it.
"First, I'll clear the goblins. The assassin… I guess he'll show up when I'm in bad shape after the fight."
