Hellbound With The Vampire King

Chapter 61: Eating With His Majesty (2)

"Nonsense! Look how skinny you look. I told you I like my women with a little flesh on them." Eiravyn said as he took a sip from an unknown liquid in his glass cup, while pushing the plate with a cut waffle in front of Serena.

"Eiravyn, I won't be able to eat this, please. I might pass out if I eat this much." Serena tried to explain herself as she scrunched her face, "And besides, you have not eaten anything." She accused him, pushing the plate back to him.

"You should eat this."

"Don't worry about me, Little Kitten. I already had my meal." Eiravyn smirked, as he pushed the plate back to her. His eyes remained fixated on her, as if challenging her to disobey him.

Valois who was standing in the room all along, watch them. He choked on his saliva when he saw his uptight King acting like a ten-years- old kid—this was unheard of.

When he first saw the girl, he had not considered the possibility that Eiravyn might have romantic feelings towards Serena.

He thought of Eiravyn as his child— he had been taken care of him since he was a kid. And compared to him, Serena looked different from the kind of women Eiravyn bedded. She was not flashy, nor did she dress to seduce like the girls around Eiravyn. That made him think maybe his king wanted to do charity case. But looking at the way his king treated her with absolute care, and attention, he was starting to think that Eiravyn might actually be attracted to her— he thought as he watched their exchange intently.

Meanwhile, Ember and the other maids were watching their exchange and felt like Serena was acting strange. Why would she ask a pure-bred to eat this menial food? Did she not know that vampires don't need food to survive? Or was she just naive?

"I will have the strawberries instead." Serena muttered, defeated, as she reached to pick up two strawberries from her plate before settling back in her seat.

Eiravyn sighed when he saw this but didn't speak anything on it.

"Are you the only one leaving here?" Serena suddenly asked. This was something she had been meaning to ask him since she arrive— she felt it would be very boring to stay in this huge castle alone. What about his family? She had barely seen anyone, and he had not even introduced her to them yet. Serena decided to be patient about that—after all, she'd just gotten there.

The question caught Eiravyn off guard. He placed his cup down before answering. "Well, I do have the maids and servants staying here in the slave quarters on the first floor, the butler stays on the second floor, and my right-hand man stays on the third floor. You already know the rest." Eiravyn replied plainly, so Serena didn't bother prying further.

She nodded in understanding as her gaze drifted around her. Since she had barely seen the whole royal house, she could tell the back of the house would be huge.

While Serena was busy calculating the chore divisions in her head, Eiravyn called to her.

"Little Kitten…" He called. "Is there anything you enjoy doing and would like to try here?"

Serena blinked surprised that he would think of asking her something like this. Something she loves doing? She actually enjoys doing a lot of things but decided to stick with one thing she does in the human realm.

"I really do enjoy cooking, packaging the food and all." Serena said, her whole expression brightened up instantly, "Can I assist the chefs in the kitchen?" She asked. Since the question was thrown at her. Why not utilize this opportunity to do the thing she loves doing.

"That's out of the question, Kitten. You're not allowed anywhere near the kitchen, that is not your task. Now, is there anything you enjoy doing other than cooking?" Eiravyn asked again.

Serena thought long and hard, the only thing she enjoyed doing other than cooking, she thought, before an idea came to her mind. There were a huge varieties of books already in her room's study, but the books were outdated—she just needed the shelves refreshed with the latest collections of trending books. So, with that thoughts in mind, she turned to Eiravyn.

When she suddenly noticed that the room had turned silent and the maids were all looking at the front door, Serena tilted her head down to look at the door, when suddenly, the commander of the royal knights, Celrean walked into the room with his own brigade of knights trailing after him.

They all bowed down towards Eiravyn.

"Greetings, Your Majesty!" They chanted in unison, before Celrean turned to Serena.

"Excuse me, Your Highness," Celrean said and Serena nodded, she recognized him as the man that came to pick them up at the territory of Darkshade Kingdom.

The man bowed down to Eiravyn and whispered in his ear.

The air around Eiravyn immediately became heavy, causing Serena to allude that whatever the man said wasn't good news to him.

He looked at Serena with a pretty serious gaze, his jaws clenched hard. Serena whole face clouded with curiosity. What had the man said to him for this kind of reaction to cloud his face, which would normally not reveal his true feelings?

"Kitten. Go back to your room first. Forget what I said about touring the kingdom today. If you want to go out you can go to the garden but aside that don't go anywhere." His twisted smile had long disappeared from his lips.

"Huh? But what about what we were talkin-"

At that moment, a merciless chill was suddenly emitted from his intense eyes, intimidating and locking her down on the spot that she was not able to complete her question.

The look merely lasted for a second, but Serena felt chills run along her hair and arms. And everyone present in the room felt the chill as they all held their breaths.

Serena almost flinched and just froze there.

Eiravyn stood up straight before her as he cupped her small face. "I promise to make it up to you later. Now, will you please go and don't come out until I ask you to." He said, as he looked fondly into her eyes.

Serena nodded like she had been hypnotized and obediently said. "Okay."

"Thank you." Eiravyn said to her, before releasing his hold on her, surprising everybody in the room. 'Did His Majesty just thank someone?' They did not have time to ponder over this new fact as the air around Eiravyn turned cold and heavy again, immediately he released her.

He turned to Celrean. "Let's go." Eiravyn ordered and immediately they all walked out of the room along with his royal commander and the knights, making the people in the room release the breath they had been holding.
