Hellbound With The Vampire King

Chapter 75: Vampire Existence

"What? You don't know Ava Rivers?" Aurora exclaimed loudly, and Serena frowned at the loudness of Aurora's voice.

She was so confused. Could she be Eiravyn ex-girlfriend?

Eiravyn had told her the night before that he would be announcing her as his queen. So what was this she was hearing about one Ava Rivers? Was this is a kind of ploy, or what was going on.

Serena was so shocked her mouth was wide open. Was Eiravyn playing with her feelings? Yesterday he was questioning her about her feelings, but she realized that he had not really told her much about himself.

Just as she was about to ask the question that was currenting plaquing her mind, the door to the private sitting area swung open.

Soon, the food was brought in on a silver tray, and Astrid arranged it on the coffee table inside the room. Serena saw Astrid giving her younger sister a sharp look. But Serena was desperate for her answers and thought that Astrid might not answer her question, but Aurora seemed more open-minded.

Serena didn't know how to feel as the freshly cooked food emitted an aroma that made her drool. She had been hungry earlier, before this news was delivered to her so blatantly. Right now, she felt like she wanted be alone, but she was not about to reject a good meal when she had not even heard Eiravyn's side of the story yet. She immediately went to the table and sat in the chair.

She turned to look at the two servants standing dutifully at the corner of the room. "I would like to be alone. You two can have your meals too." Serena's voice sounded calm and collected, but her face looked impassive.

Astrid turned to look at her sister, wondering what she had said to make their new lady look like this. She nodded anyways.

"We'll be standing outside, my lady. If you need anything, please call us."

Serena sighed; she had asked them to go eat, but it seemed they were hell-bent on serving her. She nodded and the two servants left. 'I need to have more energy so I can gather more about this place and then I would find a way to contact Kathy.'

After she had food, Serena called the two servants outside to clean the table. She used that time to explore the study room in her room, searching for books she could read in the meantime. Before her eyes landed on the book she had picked up the very first time she got there: How Vampires Survive.

Serena picked it out from the many collections and went back to the private lounge.

She saw that the servants had cleared the table.

Serena placed the book on the coffee table and sat down comfortably, before picking the book up. She flipped through the front page as it talked about the author and acknowledgement. She was not looking for that information, so she went straight for the next page.

There was a bold heading at the top of the page, same as the book name— [How Vampires survive]_. The page read [Introduction to Vampire existence]. She started reading from there. She had asked her servants to wait for her outside.

[Vampires are divided into two genders— Vampire(male) and Vampiress (female)].

There was a rough sketches of a man and a woman below it, covering the rest of the page. They wore clothes depicting the different genders— the man wore pant and a top, while the woman wore a long, flowing gown. Serena studied the sketch and concluded that the diagram looked human.

It seemed this book was made to educate the little children in the kingdom about the difference between a man and a woman, the way it was in the human realm. Serena noticed.

She turned the page to read further. Seeing the next page, her eyes were left wide open in the next minute she closed the book in shock. 'The woman in the next page was not wearing any clothes.'

Serena had studied the human body back in the human realm as a little girl. She didn't feel the need to read this page as it was familiar territory. Even then, she'd always 'zoned out' during those lessons, knowing the basic structures but never really paying attention to it .

Serena face exploded in fierce blush as she quickly skipped through the introduction to read what she was most curious about. 'Does vampires survive by blood alone?'

However, the next page didn't talk about that, instead it was about the difference in the eye color of a vampire.

She continued reading. 'Not all vampires had red eyes.' She read and paused to take in that information.

'No wonder my servants had green eyes. She had wanted to ask them about it before, but decided to leave the matter as they were the first people she saw with different eye color in the vampire kingdom; not that she had seen plenty of them as she had only briefly glanced at them.'

She sat up properly and placed the book on the table as she continued reading. 'Vampires associated with red eyes are mostly considered to be pure-blooded vampires and are powerful. The darker the eyes, the more powerful the vampire is.' She continued reading as she muttered to herself.

'But Eiravyn eyes could change to gold was that because he was a wizard?' She thought and then gasped, no wonder he could change his eyes color.

'Yellow eye colored vampires are seen in older vampires.' Serena read but she had not yet seen any vampire with this unique eye color. She thought to herself as she flipped to the next page.

'Blue and green eye colors are seen on vampires with soft natures, who have good nature in them. It simply mean their personalities are good and they're considered very beautiful because of their unique eye color.' Serena nodded this was the eye color her servants had. She thought as she examined the image attach to the description.

She continued reading 'in ancient times, men and women with these eye color were sought after as these eye colors are distinct and rare.' Serena nodded again. She could definitely relate to this.

She went on to the next page when she suddenly gasped and almost flung the book in the air…
