The green sphere pulsated. It released a green energy wave to try and escape from Mater.

Mater's claws extended and grabbed at the sphere. Pure red Chaos released from his claws and dug into the green sphere. It immediately calmed down. Its green energy retreated within the sphere.

The darkwraith was pushed back five meters. It quickly got back up on its feet and growled at Mater.

"Let me see what this thing really is." Mater's eyes flashed red. He intruded the structure of the green sphere with his Chaos Vision.

The sphere was made of Chaos. Not pure Chaos but a modified one. Its energy was tainted with many rituals and powers.

Mater spotted the familiar Necromancy inside. There were also strange aspects that he had never seen before.

"Cute little thing."

The dark wraith rushed at Mater. Its clones had climbed onto the platform. They also charged at Mater.

The black cat jumped onto the Dark Grimoire and flew upward. He went out of reach for the darkwraith and its clones.

More Chaos reached out from Mater's claws. It penetrated into the green sphere and invaded its internal structure.

"Red or green. It is still Chaos at its core. And as long as it is Chaos, I can eat it."

Mater opened his mouth wide and threw the sphere inside. He swallowed the green sphere entirely.

His body quickly absorbed the power of the sphere and learned of its content. Mater's golden eyes briefly changed into green before turning back to normal. A small green sphere appeared around his heart.

The clones disintegrated and turned back into black wastewater. The darkwraith writhed in place for a couple seconds before creating another green sphere in its right eye.

However, the sphere was much smaller and dimmer than the previous ones.

Mater licked his whiskers and patted his belly. "You create the sphere by wasting your own Chaos, huh? The sphere is its source of power and its weakness. But it has its way to create a new sphere in case the sphere is destroyed.

It almost feels like... a Chaos Core."

"What should we do now, Master?" Aurora talked to him telepathically.

"It has weakened. Your transformation has around sixty seconds left. We don't need much strategy right now. Just blast it with Glacial Arrows until your Chaos run out."

"Yes, Master!"

The skeletal elk scraped its front leg on the ground. More ice arrows appeared around the darkwraith and shot at it.

The wraith placed the green sphere at its stomach. A faint green barrier enveloped it. The barrier was much weaker than before. Each arrow left a crack on the barrier and soon, it was completely shattered.

The Death Ice Arrows pierced through the darkwraith repeatedly. Even with its liquification and regeneration ability, the dark wraith couldn't keep up with the attack.

Its flesh peeled off as gray ash, revealing the black bones beneath. The bones slowly turned gray also and crumbled.

The darkwraith put the sphere to its mouth as a last ditch attempt to attack Aurora and Mater.

Aurora summoned an ice pillar in front of her to block the beams.

Mater flew in the air, dodging the beams and shooting Nether Spheres at it.

The Glacial Arrows and Nether Spheres crushed the darkwraith slowly. Its lower body broke first and turned into a pile of ash.

The darkwraith's upper body fell on the cold stone floor. It howled deeply and continued to shoot out as many green beams as possible.

Mater used another [Chains of Shadow]. The darkwraith had no Chaos left to liquify its body. The black chains held the darkwraith in place.

It could still attack but could no longer aim properly. Aurora used this chance to bombard it with more Glacial Arrows. The arrows stayed fixed on the darkwraith body.

The dark charcoal body turned gray in the blink of an eye. Without the regeneration ability, the true horror of Death Ice fell upon the wraith.

It growled and growled and growled. Then it disappeared. A pile of gray ash fell to the ground. Along with it were seven pieces of pure Chaos Stones.

Mater flew over and swallowed all the Chaos. Seven spheres of rotating Chaos appeared around his heart, along with the eighth green sphere.

"Now that is a lot of Chaos. Seven stones... It is a level 5 wraith." Mater thought to himself.

Aurora and the darkwraith were originally both level 5. Aurora had higher physical prowess but much weaker magical spells. This darkwraith had very tricky and unique magical spells but its physical prowess was a joke.

The darkwraith also had much more abilities than Aurora. Aurora had three spells and one passive ability. The darkwraith must have at least seven abilities.

The power to create clones.

The power to create web and acid.

The power to regenerate.

The power to liquify.

The power to shoot destructive green beams and wide cone blasts.

The power of creating a green sphere could also count as one.

"Without me, if the bloodwraith and darkwraith were to fight each other. The darkwraith might win because of how versatile it is."

Aurora approached Mater. Her Glacial Elk ability came to an end and she turned back to her human form.

Suddenly, Aurora fell to her knees.

"Are you alright?" Mater meowed.

"I feel weak, Master." Aurora said.

"It's probably because you are running out of Chaos. I will construct a Glacial Shrine for you soon."

Mater tapped his paw on the Dark Grimoire. The book flipped open to the blank page.

"Return to the book and rest."

"Yes, Master." Aurora jumped into the black hole on the page. Her painting and details appeared in the Dark Grimoire.

"Well... This mission is a success. Time to wrap everything up."

Mater flew to the nightmare room to check on the missing people. They were still deep asleep. The floor was flooded with wastewater because of the fight. Still, there should be more than enough time to evacuate these people.

Mater then flew to the entrance. He went past the crazy man in the beginning, one of the missing people. He still slept soundly on the ground, despite the water that was reaching up his ears.

The black cat met Selina on his way out. She, for some reason, had come looking for him.
