Mater jumped off from Selina's soldier and faced the emerging wraith.

The wraith growled at the cat and rushed at it.

The people stared at the scene, holding their breath.

"Will that cat be able to win?" Loretta mumbled.

"Such a cute kitty. Does it really have some form of Psychic power?" Zoe had stopped crying and went to the glass panel and observed Mater.

"Heh. That cat hates me. Let me see how strong it actually is." Rebecca said.

Dr. Avaline adjusted his glasses. "Familiar is a rare thing for a rank 1 Psychic. Usually rank 1 familiar is very weak. But we will have to see."

The clock started to count down.

Mater opened his mouth. The loudest meow echoed throughout the arena. A transparent shockwave shot out from his throat in a cone area 3-meter in front of Mater.

The wraith was pushed back 5-meter and fell on its butt.

Everyone widened their eyes.

"What kind of skill is that?!" Loretta blurted out.

"It does look like Emission Combat." Terry looked over to Hank.

The veteran shook his head. "Not Emission Combat."

"Interesting." Dr. Avaline wrote down intensely on his clipboard. "The cat seems to have its own Psycho Force Capacity. It is even able to manifest its own Psychic skill. But I don't understand how it did it at all."

The wraith scrambled and tried to stand up. Mater approached the tattered skeleton and screamed at its face again.

Its skull cracked and it was pushed back another five meters.

"Distance controlling skill?" Dr. Avaline said. "The NCE was moved around the same distance as the first one. This skill is much more precise than I thought."

"What is so impressive about it, Doctor?" Rebecca said.

"A precise skill means precise control. Can you always make sure to throw a ball exactly the same distance every time?"

Rebecca shook her head.

"That is why. Selina doesn't seem to use her Psychic ability much. All of her power seems to be used for her connection with the cat."

"I cannot sense any connection between them..." Loretta said.

"That is because you are too weak. Mental Link is only the most basic ability of a seer." Dr. Avaline bluntly said.

"If it keeps going like this, she might be the only one aside from Hank that can deal with the wraith." Terry said.

Dr. Avaline nodded in agreement. He didn't, however, voice his suspicion. All of the Psychic Ability that the ISP knew of used the emotions inside the Negative Emotional Spectrum. Brain Freeze could use every type of emotion. Mental Link required deception, obsession, and some other emotions in the same vein.

The computer wasn't picking up any NES from the black cat.

After the second soundwave blast, the wraith could barely get up anymore. Its body squirmed on the ground.

Dr. Avaline pressed a button on a panel and ended the test.

"Congratulations, Selina Isles. You have passed our combat test..." Dr. Avaline said.

"Crazy. She does it in thirty seconds." Rebecca grabbed her hair in despair. She thought she was going to show her that they were equal. But in the end, she was inferior.

A mix of feelings flooded the other contestant. Terry was wary of Selina. Clive was intrigued. Loretta was jealous. Zoe was upset.

Only Hank smiled.

"She's a good seed. She will be a great addition for our country." The veteran said.

Dr. Avaline nodded. "That is if she likes to work for the government."

A lot of talented psychics stayed as Bounty Hunter because they received less restrictions than DSI Agent.

Selina came to Mater and picked up the black cat.

"You're such a good boy!" She petted him intensely.

"Heh heh." Mater was drooling in the good feeling of the pet but he suddenly snapped out of it and slapped Selina's hand gently. "Don't treat me like an animal!"

Selina chuckled. The feisty nature of the black cat didn't repulse her, only making her love it more.

She and the cat returned to the secure room.

"Alright, everyone. The examination has ended. We will send you a digital copy of your certificate soon. If you are a registered PI on the Bounty Hunting Site, it will automatically update.

Everything should be done within tomorrow. As for a physical copy, you will have to request one from the nearest Police Department.

Any questions?"

Selina raised her hands again. "I want to ask, Doctor. If I want to go to some classes in the Institute, how should I register?"

Dr. Avaline smiled brightly. "You like to study, huh? It is quite troublesome to register in the Institute and sometimes you need to wait until a new course begins.

But you don't need to go through all that, Miss Isles. If you want to register, I will take care of everything for you."

The Institute of Supernatural Phenomenon was a center of scientific research but it was also a university. The facilities above ground mostly consisted of university structures.

"Wait... I didn't say I want to go to university." Selina's lips trembled.

"Don't worry, Miss Isles. For a genius like you, only the entirety of the university program is worthy."

"I... I..." Selina's eyes were welled with tears.

"Oh? Don't be so emotional, Miss Isles. It is only a simple gesture from me."

'That's not it, old man! I hate school!' Selina screamed internally. She wasn't afraid of ghosts but she was extremely fearful of studying.

Mater grabbed his belly and fell on the floor laughing. One of his favorite hobbies was laughing at someone's misery.

Rebecca didn't even know what to think about everything. 'That cat is evil.'

After the examination, Selina and Mater went on to the meet up with a few property owners of the available Cold Storages.

Mater wanted to find a good hidden place with suitable Cold Storages to build a Glacial Shrine for Aurora.
