CAT WARLOCK: This Darklord Feasts Upon Horror

Chapter 81: Hooded Men

"What is that cat? A familiar?" A hooded man spoke.

"Whatever it is. We need to get rid of it and its master."

Two hooded men stepped forward. They pulled out their weapons. Each held a short steel sword with no handguard. They looked more like long stretched knives than full swords.

The remaining three stepped back and clasped their hands together. Magical circles appeared around them and zombies emerged from the floor.

"Show them no mercy, Crow." Mater meowed.

Crow nodded.

The Abyssal Abomination jumped into melee-range with the two hooded men. He thrusted the Nether Spear at one of them.

"That spear is made of dark magic. Do not let it touch you." A hooded man shouted.

They blocked Crow's strike with their sword. Suddenly, the spear grew longer and penetrated the neck of a hooded man.

"That weapon can transform!" The remaining hooded man stepped back, allowing the grey zombies to rush forward.

"What are these low-grade undead?" Mater opened his mouth and released a scream.

The soundwave pushed all the zombies backwards, creating space for Crow. Crow's Nether Spear grew longer and he swirled it in a circle.

The spear swiped over the neck of the zombies, decapitating them in one strike. Dark veins appeared on their body and ate them up from the inside.

One of the hooded caster pulled their sleeves up and pointed his palm at Crow.

"Fireball!" A sphere of fire shot at Crow.

He effortlessly cut the sphere in half, sending the two pieces to either side. That action made all the hooded men jerked back.

"That spear can cut down magic! This is an ancient order! Retreat now!" One of the hooded men shouted.

Mater opened his mouth and released a Nether Sphere at a hooded warrior. He tried to block it with his short sword, only for it to be broken apart by the purple sphere.

The Nether Sphere blasted forward, pressuring him onto the wall and continued to shred away his flesh.

The hooded warrior screamed as he experienced his life being destroyed in front of his eyes. He couldn't do anything about it.

The hooded casters turned their backs and rushed to the window.

"Not so fast!" Mater summoned the Chains of Shadow from within the robe.

Black chains bursted out from a hooded caster's clothes and wrapped around him. He fell down to the floor helplessly.

Crow raised his Nether Spear. The spear became longer, similar to a javelin. He threw it at the second hooded caster.

The javelin pierced the stomach of the second caster and pinned him to the floor. He screamed in pain and writhed.

The last caster jumped to the window. He rolled a few times on the green grass.

He thought he was getting away when ice walls emerged from the ground and trapped him.

Aurora was standing right outside the house with Selina.

"No!" The hooded caster punched on the wall but it didn't budge.

He aimed his hand at the ice wall and released another fire sphere. The sphere ignited the inside of the pillar, burning him in the process.

Mater flew to the window.

"Stupid bastard. You don't use broad scale spells in an enclosed environment."

The black cat turned to Crow. "Break the legs of the survivor."

"On it, Master."

Both hooded warriors were killed. One hooded caster was penetrated by the Nether Spear and lay motionless on the ground. The one that was caught by Chains of Shadow was trying his best to get out.

Crow approached that one stomped on his knees. The hooded man screamed at the top of his lungs.

Aurora deactivated her Ice Cage, releasing the burning hooded man from imprisonment. The burning man rolled on the ground, trying to extinguish the fire.

"Stay still, you scoundrel."

Mater blasted a soundwave at him, knocking him unconscious but also extinguishing the fire.

Aurora squatted down and pulled down the hood, revealing his half-burned face.

Selina ran to them. "What is going on?"

Mater shook his head and meowed. "I don't know. Let's tie these bastards up first and check on Colonel Stewart."

Aurora grabbed the burned hooded man and put it on her shoulder. She jumped from the ground to the roof and went inside the window. She might not be a close-range warrior but she was still much stronger than a normal human.

Mater flew inside the window.

There was only Selina left on the ground. "I guess I'll be using the stairs then…"

On the second floor, Crow pulled the curtains down and used it to tight the two survivors to a pillar.

They then approached Colonel Stewart and pulled him up.

Mater let Crow deal with the talking as he had the most experience.

"You're alright? We're with Sheriff Carter."

Colonel Stewart had quite a few bruises on him but he was mostly fine. The old man breathed heavily. He pointed to the clock at the top of the wall.

"What they want to find is in there…"

Crow jumped up and pulled the clock down. He gave it to Colonel Stewart.

The old man opened the clock and pulled out a small wooden middle finger.

This finger was exactly similar to David Rendell's thumb and the Wilsons's index finger.

"That thing!"

Mater's eyes flashed red as he scanned the object. It was different from the previous two fingers. This middle finger had Chaos inside. Dense, pure Chaos.

"I see. So that is what these things were used for. They are a vessel to store Chaos." The black cat squinted his eyes.

A storage meant that it could be used for Chaos Ritual and fed to the specter, turning them from benign ghost to hostile wraith.

Crow took the middle finger and pocketed it. "We will keep it safe. But are you alright, Colonel Stewart?"

"I'm alive. But they will return until they get what they want. You should be careful."

Crow nodded. "Don't worry. We will be ready for them."

"I'm going to call the Sheriff." Selina said.

Colonel Stewart raised his hand. "No! You can't!"

"What is going on, Marlon? You need to tell me now." Crow said.

Marlon sat up straight and sighed. He unbuttoned his shirt and showed a tattoo on his right shoulder. It was a tattoo of an inverted pentagram.
