As the red and black ferocious spirits attacked the expedition group they got destroyed soon after. This was finally time for the mages to shine. The golems were all resistant to magic damage so the mages had a hard time dealing any damage to them. Only Elena was able to easily get rid of them. But now an opponent with weakness against magic appeared so the mages went all out to vent their frustrations.

As the group went further deep inside the 4th floor more and more ferocious spirits showed up. Their levels were also getting higher. The ferocious spirits they encountered at the very beginning were only about level 150 or so but now B rank ferocious spirits were attacking them frequently. The warriors were completely useless against them so the pressure was building on the mages and the allrounders. Even if the ferocious spirits were not very strong individually, their numbers were really too high. But as soon as the pressure became too much for the mages Elena took action once again wiping out almost 80% ferocious spirits.

An A rank ferocious spirit with control over Hellfire was blocking the stairs to the 5th floor. It was a hard fought battle but the A rank teachers were able to defeat the level 262 Hellflame Spirit by themselves without Elena's help and left the fourth floor behind.

The fifth floor was a tomb and this time as soon as they entered a 20 m tall golden golem attacked them immediately. This golem was level 270 and it had a very high defence. It could also shoot projectiles from its fingers and shoulders so it was very hard to beat. The A rank teachers were having a lot of trouble with it. So Elena asked them if she should intervene or not.

But the teachers had their own pride so they told her to give them more time. After a very hard fought battle, one teacher from Sky Parade Academy who was using a large hammer as his weapon was finally able to break the core from the golden giant golem.

But as soon as they relaxed a bit after getting the victory one of the B rank teachers from University of Sousion suddenly screamed and attacked one of the Sky Parade Academy's teachers. That teacher was an A rank and getting surprised by this sudden attack he retaliated with full force and ended up killing that teacher.

As soon as that happened Elena suddenly jumped from her position and used a spell called "Arcane Hands" to catch something in the air. As soon as she grabbed something the camouflage of that thing broke and a transparent spirit appeared. That was a type of ferocious spirit who could control a person's mind if that person had his guard down. Elena explained that to the team and killed it. She also told them that this spirit also had a very strong stealth ability. She was only able to detect it because she was able to sense the killing intent it had toward the students.

As soon as Elena assured them that there was no more enemy present at this location, the University of Sousion's and the Sky Parade Academy's groups started quarreling and blaming each other. One group wanted compensation from the other group for killing one of their key members and the other group also demanded that they should be the one to ask for compensation as their own member was attacked first.

Elena was watching all these with a cold mind. This was not her plan to create discord among these two organisations but it was Riplanica Higher Institution's plan. They knew about the existence of this special spirit and all of them had used counter measures to protect themselves from the mind control. So it was guaranteed that the victim of this mind control would always be from one of the three remaining organisations. And that would surely create problems between them, which would help the Riplanica Higher Institution in the long run.

Even tho Elena understood their plan she didn't stop it. Instead she wanted to use it to her advantage. She protected everyone from her own academy and the Sky Parade Academy silently to make sure that only teachers from the University of Sousion would be vulnerable to mind control. She could not create a good relationship with the University as they were from enemy nations but the Sky Parade Academy was an organisation Elena could have a good relationship with.

As the quarrel escalated, Elena finally intervened and told both of the groups to stop fighting among each other. She also warned them that the dungeon was not a forgiving place. If they underestimated the dungeon then they could die easily. She also told them to have a detailed discussion about this topic after the expedition's end. For now, they should still cooperate.

This 5th floor once again had a lot of traps and they were even more complex than the previous ones. Even Astin got caught in several traps even after actually doing his best. Another teacher from the institution got badly injured after getting caught in a trap but he was healed by Elena. This teacher was one of the vilest ones among them and she didn't want him to have an easy death.

This floor also had several more golems and ferocious spirits who attacked them in droves putting a lot of pressure on everyone's mind alongside the deadly traps.

The students had now lost all their previous vigor and were looking very tired and haggard. As soon as they found the stairs to the next floor, Elena told everyone that this was enough expedition for today. It's been more than 15 hours since they entered the dungeon and they would not enter the sixth floor today.

Elena told every group to pitch their tents and to take some rest. Then she told the injured ones to get treatment as soon as possible. Some of the teachers and students were in charge of cooking for their group and they also started to make food for their group.

Elena asked Quinn, Prescilia, Shuri, Colette and Fiona to help her cook and told others to take some rest. The students were also very tired from seeing all those high-level battles and complied with Elena and went to take some rest.

While cooking Elena asked the students about how they felt while taking part in this expedition. Quinn was the most excited one as she was itching for a battle but all the enemies were way too strong for her. Prescilia had actually helped with the healing so among the students she was able to contribute the most. And she was very happy with that contribution.

As for Shuri and Colette, Shuri had tried to use her summons for various roles but they were just way too weak for a dungeon of this level and Colette was sure she could contribute a little if she opened her eyes but Elena told her to not do so for the time being.

Fiona had spent most of her time observing Elena and her spell casting she had also asked her several questions. She was improving her already high magic casting capability even more.

They all had a sumptuous dinner with very delicious food. That attracted attention from other institutions and academies and after they also requested some of the tasty food Elena shared a little with them. After that all of them went to sleep. Elena also used this chance to mix a little bit of special spices in the food given to the Riplanica Higher Institution which would show their effect when needed.

And that was how the first day of the expedition ended.
