FMC Ch 104
The next day, after everyone woke up Elena called for a meeting. Here Elena made some minor changes in the formation by assigning some allrounders to the front line. After that little meeting was over they finally entered the sixth floor.
...
The sixth floor had a completely different look than the other floor. It was very sophisticated and looked like the inside of a castle. Golems present here all looked like full plate of armours. They were all made with different metals but they all looked to be old and damaged. This floor had a lot, and by a lot it meant A LOT of traps. All the armours were level 200 and there were some extra large 8 meter tall armours and they were level 225.
One good thing was that this armoured golem never attacked in a large group. So the team didn't have much trouble fighting them. But golems were not the only thing present on this floor. There was also a special type of ferocious spirit who suddenly came out from the walls and attacked suddenly. They were impossible to detect until they came out of the wall.
So this was definitely one of the most annoying floors to cross. Without Elena's presence all the students would surely would have died on this floor. This time Elena and other teachers were extra careful with the spirits so none of them died on this floor fortunately.
A large pitch black full plate armour was guarding the stairs to the seventh floor. It was a very strong level 270 golem. This time they asked for Elena's help from the start as they didn't want to suffer any more losses. After this floor the expedition was going to be even tougher and Astin invited Elena for this exact reason.
After defeating the golem with Elena's help, they entered the seventh floor. This floor also looked like the sixth floor but there were no golems present here. The whole floor was eerily calm. As they entered the floor some of them thought that an attack would come suddenly but nothing like that happened. The whole floor was just a long hallway. Astin spoke up -
"This is the floor that I warned you all about. There are no external threats here. But there is some kind of mechanism that could influence someone's mind and force them to betray the team. So everyone should be extra careful about not getting influenced by that force."
Elena understood the mechanism of this floor. A person with weak mental fortitude could easily be influenced by this floor. Even if someone had a strong mental strength the traps of the last floor had already made them mentally tired and that would make the task of influencing their mind a bit easier for the floor.
Elena instantly used a skill called "Brave heart" on the students. This skill gave the student's mind an extra layer of protection that would defend them from any mental attacks when their mind could not handle anymore.
She didn't give this protection to anyone else and let them fend for themselves. One A rank teacher who could cast mental protection magic cast a "Major Mind Guard" on all the teachers. Elena told them that they did not need to cast anything on the students as she has a skill to protect herself and that skill could also protect others who were staying close to her.
This floor had nothing to worry about other than the mental attack so they crossed it quite easily. Then they entered the eighth floor. This floor also had the sophisticated decoration but everything here looked much older. This floor had an ancient vibe to it. As soon as they entered his floor nine 10 meter tall golems appeared.
But they didn't attack right away. They were holding some type of long rod in their hand. But it was not a staff or a spear. As soon as Elena saw it she immediately thought of guns. And her hunch was proven to be correct. All the golems pointed those rods toward the teachers and fired extra large size bullets.
Elena cast a large barrier to protect everyone from the rain of bullets. It was a very strong attack capable of destroying almost everything. Last time when the principal Astin tried to clear the dungeon, his team suffered an insane amount of damage from this attack. When he saw Elena was able to protect everyone from this attack, he became sure that his decision to bring Elena here was correct.
As soon as the round of fire ended those golems also disappeared. When the members of the expedition team heaved a sigh of relief a lot of super small ( only 100-130 cm ) golems appeared and attacked them. Their numbers were overwhelming. The warriors destroyed the golems like crazy as they were not very strong individually. But for one golem they destroyed two more appeared and took the previous ones place.
The mages tried to help the warriors with wide area spells but these golems were made with super magic resistant material so magic had minimal effect on them.
Then again Elena intervened and her magic was effective. Elena was becoming like the saviour for the whole expedition team. Whenever they faced a hard problem, Elena had a solution ready for it.
The eighth floor was quite small and they were able to cross it very quickly after all the small golems were destroyed. Then they entered the ninth floor. It was a completely black space with pitch black walls and ground. The visibility here was very low. But many of the teachers had their ways to see through the darkness and they used those ways to do just that. But as soon as they did that cold shivers ran down their spine.
They saw several thousands of ferocious spirits of many kinds. And most importantly all of them were quite strong. They hadn't even gone deep inside this floor but they could already see three or four A rank spirits. And all other remaining thousands of spirits were B ranks. They had never seen so many B ranks together.
The principal didn't want to give them the knowledge that they had actually come this far inside the dungeon. But if he didn't say anything and someone attacked these spirits in despair then their expedition would end then and there. So he spoke to everyone in a hushed voice -
"Everyone, please listen. If we don't attack any of the spirits here they will not attack us first. So, no one should attack them at any cost. Even if they touch you or laugh at you. Don't attack them at any cost. If you do , all of us would die."
Nobody was in the mood to ask him how he knew this information. Everyone looked at each other once and nodded. Then they went forward deeper inside the ninth floor. As soon as they did so all the spirits looked at them. They again felt the shivers but no one attacked. Especially the students were almost scared stiff.
They went in very slowly. Some spirits got interested in them and came closer. Some touched them and giggled. Some laughed at their scared look and even provoked them. But none of the teachers reacted with rage as all of them were scared of the consequence. But that was not the case for the students as some of them greeted their teeth in anger.
This reaction was even funnier to the spirits. They became even more mocking and taunted those students even more. The teachers tried their hardest to manage both their and the students anger but suddenly one of the teachers from University of Sousion attacked a Sky Parade Academy's teacher and shouted that he would avenge Rik (the fallen teacher who was mind manipulated).
The attacked teacher also fought back and one missed attack hit a spirit and ended up killing it. Suddenly the whole atmosphere froze as the killing intent from several thousands of spirits washed over them. At this moment everyone thought only one thing -
"We've fucked up."
