As soon as Sandy and Saradina got the news that two other teams had already started attacking, they also ordered the ten thousand plus soldiers that they brought together to start attacking.
These 10,000 soldiers were going to be divided into two teams and those two teams would attack from the south western and south eastern side. One team would have about seven thousand soldiers and another team would have about three thousand.
The larger team would attack the south western border and also would try to lure away one of the generals who was probably going to be stationed at the western side. And the smaller team would target the south eastern side to create as much chaos as possible.
While all that was happening, Sandy and Saradina were going to use the hidden passage to infiltrate the fortress in the chaos and were responsible to map the interior of the fortress as much as possible while hiding their presence.
...
That was the plan but as soon as Sandy and Saradina got out of the hidden passage, they saw a spectacled golden bull beastkins who was quite short if compared to other bull beastkins was coming out from a room. That one of the three generals who was just in front of them. And he was the rare troublesome one, better at using his brain unlike most of his brethren.
Both Sandy and Saradina were unwilling to miss this god-given chance to finish off one of the most troublesome enemies. So, they communicated with their eyes and they easily understood each other. Saradina silently vanished in a dark corner and tried to hide her presence as much as possible.
While on the other hand, Sandy unsheathed his blade and wrapped it with blue sparks of lightning. His legs also got wrapped in lightning. Sandy was best at using lightning and fire to cover his body and sword and then to wreck havoc. And he did just that right now just on a smaller scale.
The blade penetrated the golden bull beastkin. Sandy actually tried to aim for his heart but the general was able to subconsciously dodge even tho he was not very good at fighting. But Sandy had already guessed that his attack might be unable to finish him off.
So he just poured more MP into the sword to create more lightning and to paralyze him for a bit more time. He knew that he was not alone here. His trusted aide was by his side to support him. And just as her guessed, as soon as the general had stiffened up a bit Saradina leaped out in a very quick speed and perfectly thrusted her spear through his head. She even used a penetration and extra damage dealing skill to completely ensure the kill.
...
After both of them killed the general they tried to hide the body as to not alert others that one of their generals was dead. But after just a few seconds after the death of Fabak, an enraged shout was heard throughout the fortress.
"BASTARDS !!! HOW DARE YOU KILL FABAK !!!! E EVERYONE, ACTIVATE THE "NEMESIS SEQUENCE" OF THE SOUTH."
That was the voice of general Sakamoto. Hearing his voice all the bull beastkin soldiers who were fighting leisurely got extremely angry and went berserk. They started to fight with increased ferocity and tried to kill as many human soldiers as possible even if they had to die for it.
The Myrilia army found themselves to be completely out-matched against the enraged bull beastkin soldiers. As soon as the soldiers got enraged the battle situation changed completely. Within only 30 minutes since the beastkins got enraged, the human army was completely defeated and had to run away in panic to save their lives.
That was true for every side that got attacked. The north and north eastern and the south western and south eastern, in all those sides the human army suffered continuous defeat and were pushed back.
...
As soon as Jokioka heard the shout he instantly became enraged. All the regular bull beastkins could enter a state akin to rampaging and could increase their strength. But as a high level individual and someone with a very strong bloodline, Jokioka could do something even better. His bloodline racial skill was called "Rampaging Calamity" and that allowed him to enter a stare similar to a berserker but without losing his mind completely.
Kyo was evenly matched so far in the fight but as soon as Jokioka activated the bloodline skill, be became stronger than Kyo and injured him instantly. Kyo also used his everything to fight back but was completely unable to do so.
Kyo was absolutely no match for Jokioka after he activated the bloodline skill. He was actually on the verge of death. But still Kyo somehow managed to create some distance between them and ran away instantly. He was not good at running away but he had brought a special magic item just for this situation. He might look and act like a muscle brained idiot but he was quite smart when it came to the aspect of saving his life.
...
Sakamoto was a tall, thin but muscular bull beastkin who had undergone a special mutation. He had skin which was coloured pink unlike any bull beastkin species. That made him into a joke material in his childhood but now everyone could only feel a single type of emotion while seeing the pink skin and that was fear.
This mutation didn't only give him a joke like pink skin but also a special ability too. That ability was called "Esther Cover". It sounded quite simple but was actually a completely broken ability. And the human army got to know today why that was so.
All the generals had a special device that allows them to check on each other's condition at any time. As Jokioka was busy fighting he didn't notice it but at that time Sakamoto was free and was keeping an eye on the device. That was why he was able to immediately know that Fabak had died.
All three of the generals here had a good relationship with each other. That was why Sakamoto got insanely angry after witnessing his good friend's death. He didn't wait for anything and instantly attacked the human army that was attacking the south western side and started wiping them out.
The commander in charge of leading this division was Frank and he tried his best to somehow stop Sakamoto's rampage but was unable to. He then made a decision to burn his soul and lifespan and to sacrifice it to the moon goddess to gain enough strength to confront Sakamoto.
His wish was fulfilled and he was able to stall Sakamoto for about 12 minutes which was enough time for his soldiers to run away. But the price he had to pay for this was his own life as he literally paid with his life to gain enough strength. This division also lost close to 2000 soldiers in Sakamoto's rampage even with Frank sacrificing his life to save them.
...
As soon as Saradina and Sandy heard the voice an intense feeling of danger enveloped them. Several magic circles lit up around them. The number of magic circles was insanely high.
Just by a single glance Saradina identified those magic circles as some kind of transfer or summoning circle. But she had no idea what it was going to summon. But her inner query was answered quickly as several bizarre lamprey like creatures came out from those magic circles.
They had a wierd liquid dropping from their body and it was able to even melt the floor of the castle. Saradina and Sandy both knew about these lifeforms. They were called "Fidryaya". They were feared everywhere as in any place they show up they would bring utter devastation.
These were said to be created by a goddess in a failed experiment but as they were created by a goddess they had incredible tenacity. So with a very high number of them present could theoretically wiped out everything in the fortress.
But obviously they had a weakness like most other beings. Their lifespan was very short and when they became active, they would die after about 5 to 10 minutes. But Saradina and Sandy could not wait for so long as they would most probably die within that timeframe.
So without thinking about it much Sandy took out item for teleportation that he got from Elena after exchanging it for a 300 year old painting from his family. Then they teleported back to the base.
...
The north eastern side was relatively calm compared to other sides. The Totem Shaman did not had a very close relationship with the generals so his intensity didn't increased much. But as the other soldiers got enraged the human archers got pushed back fiercely. Seeing that the situation was not in their favour, Collence, the mage in charge ordered for a retreat.
...
The same was true for the south eastern side. They had just started attacking were able to gain some momentum. But as soon as the bull beastkins got angry they lost all the momentum and were pushed back instead.
The commander in charge of them was Fabio who had a very good eyesight and intuition. As soon as he saw the light of magic circle at the distance he felt unprecedented threat and called for a retreat immediately. That quick decision making actually saved a lot of life for the human army.
And that was how the night raid ended semi-successfully.
