Major General Sandy was in a good mood. His mission was going exceptionally well after the reinforcements joined him. Even for the other missions, everyone was performing very well.

He was very close to conquering almost half of the Totota fortress. This was something which was never before done. So it was quite a big advantage. Today was the same. He ordered his soldiers to march forward bravely toward the inevitable victory. He himself also engaged two of the generals in combat.

It was all proceeding according to the plan but fate had something else in store for this day. Suddenly Sandy got a mental message from one of the informants who was in charge of keeping an eye on the Khil fortress and on Saradina in order to assist her whenever possible.

The news that Sandy got was so bad that he almost lost his mind for a second and got hit by an attack of one of the bull beastkin generals. Even when he was flying backward with great momentum, he only had a single thought in mind and that was he had to save Saradina at any cost.

He instantly corrected his posture in midair and landed properly. Then he barked an order -

"Everyone immediately retreated back to the camp. Then activate the "Area Isolating Barrier" to defend the base. I have to go as an important member of our army is in danger."

Sandy was ready to hear someone bad mouthing her for making this decision and putting the lives of so many soldiers on the line. But instead what he heard was statements of support and encouragement from all the soldiers. It was really heartwarming for him but he had no more time to waste if he wanted to save Saradina.

Saradina had been fighting non-stop for close to 5 hours now. She was not someone who specialised in fighting for a long amount of time. But she was able to somehow manage mainly because she had the support of her incredible aptitude for ground and sand element.

Saradina had managed to create a large sand golem that could fight one of the generals to a deadlock. And she also summoned a sand storm that had made the low level soldiers present in the fortress to be useless.

She had been fighting against the two remaining generals and the other soldiers who could deal with the sandstorm some way or another.

She had managed to deal with them so far but she was reaching her limits. The other helpers who were here to support her in case of a bad situation had already tried to help her. But none of them were too strong so they were unable to be much help.

Elena had taught her a technique to clad her body in a sand armour and that technique was also one of the main reasons why she was able to last for so long. The armour she created could block both physical and magical attacks and could repair itself using the sand of the desert.

But currently she was running low on mana to even maintain the armour properly. She also had to control and supply for the large golem that was taking the majority of pressure from her. But she at least had a lot of mana recovery potions.

As despair was starting to set in Saradina's heart and even the sand storm was slowing down. Suddenly she heard some kind of sound from a distance that was closing in towards her at a breakneck speed.

Even before the soldiers of the Khil fortress could look toward the direction from where the sound was coming from, lightning flashed in front of everyone's eyes and a tall and handsome black haired man appeared protecting Saradina behind his back. Lightning was coursing through his whole body. It was none other than Sandy Rogers, the youngest to reach the Major General rank.

As soon as Sandy was able to create some distance between the human camp and himself he deactivated the partial restrictions that his ability had.

He was born the blessing of the god of Lightning Flash and also had a special ability called "Overdriven Lightning". But this ability was a passive ability that he had no control over at all.

Overdriven Lightning allowed him to produce and discharge a good amount of electricity from his body. This electricity consumed very little amount of mana from Sandy and mainly dependent on the mana that could be found in nature to sustain itself.

Obviously as the electricity was using Sandy as an anchor to create itself it was not hurting him and gave him a body completely immune to electricity. On the other hand, as the main source of electricity was not the MP from Sandy's own body, he had very little control over it. And as a passive ability he could not just turn it on and off.

That was why, he had to use all his connections and money to get a divine item from the temple that could allow him to restrict this ability. It was a really strong ability for one vs one or one vs many fights, but a very bad ability in many vs many fights as the lightning was uncontrollable. It would hurt the friendly units as much as the enemy units. That was why a restriction was must if Sandy wanted to fulfill his dream of becoming a renowned great general.

But now as he was not close to any of his soldiers he could freely utilise his ability without holding anything back. While activating his skill his speed reached an incredible degree so he was able to close the distance between him and the Khil fortress within just half an hour, which was quite impressive as the distance between those two fortresses was quite vast.

Now in present time, both Saradina and Sandy were fighting while entrusting each other's back to each other. Sandy was able to at least control the passive skill to not hurt Saradina as controlling the skill to avoid a single person was still doable.

But even with the addition of Sandy Saradina was not completely safe. The bull beastkin generals were all really going all out as they thought they could subjugate Saradina given enough time. But now they had no other choice to go all out with all the big guns as Sandy was not someone they could defeat while holding back.

But Saradina was already a spent arrow. She had almost no MP left and her stamina was also reaching the rock bottom. So, her combat capability was at an all time low. She also had some wounds that were also sapping away her remaining but of stamina.

But she still tried her best to somehow hold on, to support her beloved who came to protect her. Her pride and responsibilities didn't allow her to rest while her star did all the work.

Sandy was also having some trouble as one of the generals who was level 240 also had an inherent ability to become an intensely burning bull. Due to this ability his nerves got dull so the electricity was having very little effect on him. He was also supported by two more generals and buy twenty thousand soldiers.

After fighting for 5 more hours and killing over five thousand soldiers and one general while severely injuring two others, Sandy was finally getting insanely tired. Saradina herself was so tired that she could not even move a single finger. The end was looming over them and they could even see their lives revolving before them.

In these tensed and despair inducing situation Saradina mastered all her strength to stand up and suddenly said -

"I love you, General... Umm no, Sandy. I don't know when it started but one day I suddenly realised that I'm in love with you. I wanted to tell this to you many times in the past but I was never able to master courage to say it. You're my first and last love after all. Probably because today I'm on verge of death I suddenly had the courage to say this.

I LOVE YOU! And I want to die while loving you."

Throughout the last five hours she was able to recover a little bit of her mana. She used that mana to wrap her body in the sand armour once again and lifted her spear up. She got ready to do her last bit of struggle before dying a brave warrior's death.

"I ... Love you too, Saradina. Forgive me for being a coward and a late bloomer. If that is your wish let's die together while loving each other. Please allow me to have a final dance with you. A dance with death."

"Gladly !"

Suddenly the whole tragic and deathly situation froze when a bell like laughter rang out throughout the battlefield. Both the humans and the beastkins froze on their spot hearing this melodious laughter.

"Marvelous. I can't imagine a better situation for the two of you to confess. Fufu."

"My greetings to the bull beastkins from the Gaim Empire. I'm Elena, a S rank adventurer. I'm not here to kill any one of you so don't worry. But I do need to save these two as I can't let such a love to have a tragic end. So, please excuse me."

Saying so Elena disappeared along with Sandy and Saradina, leaving all the beastkins dumbfounded.
