Leonhart had rushed throughout the night without resting to reach the Khil fortress in the shortest amount of time possible. All the soldiers of the royal army were high level individuals so they did not mind the continuous merch and went along with their emperor's wishes.

Soon they reached close enough to the Khil fortress that they could see the outer walls of the fortress clearly. The wall that was present on the Myrilia Kingdom's side was badly damaged but the wall on the Gaim Empire side was still intact so it looked very magnificent from the distance.

"So, this is the famous Khil fortress. It does look quite magnificent." One of the soldiers said that.

Hearing the word of praises from the royal army soldiers about the Khil fortress Leonhart slightly nodded his head. He then ordered his soldiers to quite take the Khil fortress under him. He was pretty sure that right now the Khil fortress would be empty but he still needed a base of operation and the Khil fortress was a very good choice.

Just as he expected, the Khil fortress was empty. It only had about 50 people inside it which was the minimal amount one would need to make the fortress active. So, taking over it was very easy for the royal army.

After that Leonhart asked the personnel who stayed in the fortress about Hapis' whereabouts and one of the gardeners who had good relationships with an elite soldier truthfully replied that he had gone to attack the city of Jysis in full force, two days ago.

Hearing that, Leonhart became a bit anxious as he was not sure if the humans could withstand Hapis for two whole days. So, after somewhat settling the affairs of the fortress he quickly marched out once again with 80 percent of his army toward the city of Jysis. He really did not want to fight an all out war against the Myrilia Kingdom.

Even tho the Gaim Empire was a bigger nation than Myrilia Kingdom, it was a kingdom blessed by the high goddess of Moon. And any nation blessed by a high goddess was never an easy opponent.

So they marched toward the city of Jysis just after getting a little bit of rest.

After the beast king Hapis broke the barrier, an all out brawl started between the human soldiers and the bull beastkins. Both of those races became almost berserk in this life and death situation.

But the true outcome of the battle would depend on the commanders and the generals as their victory would tilt the balance of the battle in their favour and the bull beastkins did have more high level individuals in their mix than the human army.

But the humans also had a lot more magic tools related to war and with the assistance of highly experienced veteran generals like Mars, Dennis and Passio, the humans were able to not only fight the bull beastkins toe to toe but also were able to gain some advantage over them.

The strongest among the bull beastkins were all busy to resist the relentless lightning attacks from Sandy. Saradina was also able to block two of the most tricky bull beastkin generals alone and one of them was Sakamoto, an old adversary.

As the battle was reaching a higher pitch, Hapis was trying to recover his strength as soon as possible. He knew that if he was able to gain even a little bit of his strength back then he could end this battle soon after.

So, for that reason he was not only relying on his natural regeneration to heal him up but he also drank a high quality healing potion for the first time in his life. As Hapis already had a very high self recovery ability he normally did not need to use healing potions at all. He even had some pride in never using outside help like healing potions even when he was badly hurt. But today he had to bury this pride of his in order to save his and his clansmen's lives.

As Hapis was trying his best to rest in order to increase his recovery rate by even a little bit, he suddenly felt a presence suddenly appearing close to him. He did not need to open his eyes to guess the identity of the newly arrived individual. Who could it be except the insanely strong S rank adventurer, Elena.

"May I know the reason why miss Elena decided to grace me with her presence ?" Hapis asked after opening his eyes and looking straight at Elena.

"Nothing special. I just wanted you to know that the emperor of the Giam Empire had taken to the field himself and he was able to defeat the rebel, beast overlord Horas. Not only that, but he had also reached the Khil fortress just a few hours ago. Now they are hurrying over to come here."

Hearing this Hapis' heart sank in despair. Horas' loss signalled their end. Even if Hapis managed to win this battle and conquer the city of Jysis, that would not be able to change his fate anymore. He and his clansmen all would die as rebels, and he would not be able to do anything about it.

Hapis was first and foremost, a brave warrior. He had felt fear many times in battle but had never bowed his head to that fear. He had made many terrible decisions but he did not regret it even if that decision made many of his clansmen to sacrifice themselves for his sake. He took responsibility for that but never regretted it.

But today he felt immense regret. He had taken part in this grand plan mostly because of his ambition. Even without taking part in this plan he would still be one of the great beast kings. He might even be able to become a great general for the emperor gaining even more prestige.

But after reaching high grade A rank he felt a bottleneck that was impossible for this to cross. That meant he would not be able to truly reach the S rank in his lifetime. So he wanted to gamble with this grand plan. But now as that plan had failed and he had become the biggest sinner for his race, even a steel man like Hapis felt like crying. Looking at the sweetly smiling S ranker in front of him he said in a quivering voice -

"M-miss Elena why did you bother to inform me about this information. Even if you did nothing from the looks of it we would not be able to conquer the city before the emperor's arrival. And even if we did conquer it, it would still be given back to the kingdom after the emperor re-captured it."

Hapis did not even think about it Elena had lied to him about this information or not. For an overwhelmingly stronger entity like her, she did not need to lie to him at all if she was not someone who enjoyed toying with weaker beings. But Elena did not look like such a despicable person. So he asked the question that instantly came to his mind. There was a little bit of hope mixed in that too.

"You're right. And what you thought for a moment was also right. I do have a purpose for coming to meet you at this moment. Do you mind hearing me out a bit. It might even allow you to deal with the regrets that you are feeling right now."

Seeing Elena smiling kindly and telling him all these things, the little bit of hope in Hapis' heart became a large fire. Even tho Elena was a human, probably and not a beastkin, as a strong person himself he respected other strong people and he had the highest possible respect for Elena as she was unimaginably strong. So he nodded his head like a chicken pecking at rice.

"I want a simple thing. And that for you and your clan to become my subordinate. I do have high hopes for your race, so I want all of you to work for me. I will not restrict your freedom or make you my slave but whatever I will create for all your clansmen to follow you all have to follow it unconditionally. And in exchange, I will not let any of your clansmen die and as an extra service I will also remove the status of a rebel from your names. So what do you think ? I know that you're the sole decision maker for your clan. Even if your decide for all your clansmen to commit suicide, they would even do that willingly. So do tell, what is your decision, Hapis ?"

Hapis did not say anything. He stood up after a painstaking effort and went on his knees. That was obviously a gesture of submission from him. When Hapis felt the little bit of the killing intent that was released at the exchange, he knew that she was way more dangerous than any S rankers. She might even be a legendary Demigod rank powerhouse. So he had no shame in serving someone like that. He had also lost most of his pride after enduring the current setback.

And just like that, the bull beast king clan became a subordinate force for Elena.
