There were three S rank dungeons in the Gaim Empire and the dungeon that Elena's group was going to face was closest to the capital. The name of this dungeon was "Desolate City Ruins of a Forgotten Era" and it was a dungeon with only a single floor. But that floor was extremely large, larger than the capital city even, which was already stupidly big.

When one entered the dungeon, they would appear before the large city gate. Then they had to enter the city from there and had to reach the centre of the city where a large but ruined castle was located.

If the danger label of the city was 7 then the danger label of the castle would be 9 or even 10. The monsters found in the city were mostly A rank and there was only a single S rank roaming monster in the city. If one was lucky they might not even encounter it. But the castle not only had hordes of A rank monsters inside, but it also had quite a few unavoidable S ranks too.

It did not take Elena's group much time to reach the dungeon as everyone present in the group were strong individuals whose speed was quite high. They had already made all the preparations to enter the dungeon beforehand so they did not waste any time and instantly entered it.

This was a S rank dungeon and only A and S ranks were able to enter it. Every nation in this world had adventurer guilds and the Gaim Empire was no different. Most of the time the adventurer guild was in charge of handling the dungeons but this S rank one was jointly handled by both the adventurer guild and the royal family. As soon as they entered they found themselves in front of a large but half broken gate. The walls around the gate were also in a bad state but they still held some majesty of the prosperous days. Elena and Leonhart were only going to take action after they reached the castle so they did not go forward and instead waited in the back. The other seven A rankers were the ones who were going to be the main force inside the city and they arranged themselves in a battle formation.

The large bear, Nadishi was a frontline fighter who mostly liked to use his brute strength to fight. 3 of the royal guards were also frontliner specialised in some sort of melee weapon. On the other hand, Cleotra and two remaining royal guards were mages so they stayed in the backline.

Then they quietly entered the city. After walking for a few minutes they saw the first monsters of the day. Those monsters looked humanoid but they did not have a neck. Instead they had a large nose on their belly and eye on each of the hands. Their ears were on the knees and a large tongue was hanging from its butt. It was a super gross looking monstrosity.

They were quite strong too with an average level of 270. Their resilience was also quite high and their senses were sharp. But still the A rank beastkins did not have any trouble defeating them as except their strong resilience and heightened senses those monsters had nothing special.

After that they continuously encountered more and more bizarre monsters. Some looked like the intestines and some did not even have any features but all of them had one thing in common and that was their resilience which was surprisingly high, so the beastkins needed quite some time to defeat them.

That was why their progress was a little slow. Leonhart got bored by this slow progress and started to leisurely participate in the battle. This increased the progress speed by quite a lot.

But soon their progress halted once again as the only S rank monster present in outside the castle appeared before the group. It was a large frog with eyeballs all over its body. And in the location where his real eyes were supposed to be there were two noses instead. And in place of its nose it had ears. It was insanely gross looking. So much so that, one of the A rank royal mage almost vomited seeing it.

It was a level 333 monsters, which was not something that the royal guards and two generals could handle. So it was Leonhart's chance to step up and to let Elena see his good sides. Other than the job of "Royal Beast Summoner" which he got after becoming the emperor, he also had 2 other jobs since his birth.

One of them was "Ferocious Beast Champion" which was a very rare brawler type job that only a few beastkins could get. And the other job was "Golden True Lion" which was a type of job only a few royal lionkins could be born with. The previous Emperor also had a job from the similar series called "Obsidian True Lion".

The golden true lion job came with an ability which turned Leonhart's body into a solid golden metal but without any stiffness or limitations of a metal. Basically it just made his body super hard which increased both his defence and his ability to beat others. This also made his claws and teeth to be sharper and his punches and kicks to do more bludgeoning damage. And adding that with his abilities as the "Ferocious Beast Champion" he was almost unbeatable in close quarters combat.

To fight against this gross looking frog, Leonhart activated his ability from the golden true lion job and his body turned golden. Seeing Leonhart attacking it the frog let out a burf and poisonous looking gas came out of its mouth. But Leonhart did not dodge the poisonous gas and instead went straight inside it.

Currently his body was just like metal and poison had no effect on it. He went close and punched the frog very hard. After seeing that poison did not have much effect the frog changed its strategy and vomited some kind of acidic substance. It was supposed to be a bad thing for a metal which showed that the frog was quite intelligent but again Leonhart only inherited the good aspects of a metal and not the bad ones, so this also did a minimum amount of damage to him.

This time instead of punching, Leonhart used his claws to slash at the monster. This did a lot more damage than his last punching attack and violet coloured blood came out of its wounds. The frog also screamed in pain after getting slashed. Seeing that slashing attacks were useful Leonhart's eyes lit up and he attacked the frog again and again with his claws. Just like the other monsters this one also had a very high resilience but still it died soon afterwards after bleeding a lot.

After the S rank frog died Elena group did not face any big problems and they reached the castle soon. It had been over 10 hours since they entered the dungeon, so everyone decided to rest for the time being and would enter the castle the next day. That was how the first day came to an end.
