After becoming an outer sect disciple, Elena was given a pair of sect uniforms, a talisman that allowed her to enter and chose a fire type immortal cultivation technique, and a jade slip that would allow Elena to enter an outer sect house.

These were the basic facilities that every outer sect disciples enjoyed. Those uniforms could change its size to match its wearer but could not do anything more than that. The talisman was an unranked talisman that could only record a certain order and could not be faked.

And the jade slip was a common formation control disk that allowed one to take over the formation of a house in the outer sect. The outer sect had many small houses so Elena could choose any one of them and could control the formation of that house using the jade slip which would make the house jet personal property as long as she stayed in the outer sect.

So after collecting all the items Elena came to the residential area to find a good house. For Elena a good house would be located at a quiet position and would not have too many neighbours. Luckily she was able to find a house at the edge of the residential area which matched the conditions she was trying to find. She quickly made that house her own.

Then she relaxed a little bit on the bed and looked around the small house. It was a house with two small rooms, a bathroom and a kitchen and dining. One room was for sleeping and another one was for cultivation. It was quite clean and Elena liked it quite a bit.

Then after half an hour or so Elena came out of the house and went toward the cafeteria. Here the outer sect disciple could get their meals. They would get their breakfast, lunch and dinner for free but needed to pay if they wanted anything more.

Elena came here to take her lunch and quickly went to a nearby table after getting it. After some time three more ladies came to the table where Elena was calmly eating her food.

"Excuse me. Can we sit here ?"

"Yes, please feel free."

After learning that these seats were free those three ladies joined Elena. They were also new outer sect disciples who just joined the Emerald Palace and were getting to know each other.

That asked Elena some questions like her identity before joining the sect and about her aptitude score and she answered them in such a way that no one would suspect. From their conversion she also learned that the lady who was sitting in front of her was from a family of court officials and had the highest status among the group. Her name was Yu Shiyaun.

The girl sitting beside her was Lan Tuning and she was the only daughter of a somewhat wealthy inn owner. The third girl who was sitting beside Elena was named Huang Murongguan and she was the daughter of a school teacher.

Among them, Lan Tuning had the best talent and her aptitude score for the water element was an impressive 78. She missed the chance to join the inner sect directly for only 2 points. Yu Shiyuan also had decent talent and her aptitude score for both fire and wind elements were 70 and 72 respectively.

Huang Murongguan had the lowest aptitude score among them and her score was 69 for the ice element, but she had aptitude for a rare element her talent was judged to be on par with Lan Tuning. As for Elena, she had made her aptitude score to be exactly 70 for the fire element so her result was very normal, not too high or too low.

They talked for some time before Elena stood up and took her leave by saying that she had to go to the repository to get a cultivation technique. Then she went to the outer sect repository in order to choose a fire type cultivation technique.

The outer sect repository was the largest building present in the outer sect. This place had thousands of books and was also the centre from where the elders managed the outer sect. So the guarding here was quite solid.

As soon as Elena came close to the repository two disciples in charge of guarding stopped her. Then they asked for her reason for coming. When Elena answered that she needed to choose a cultivation technique and showed them the permit they finally allowed her to enter.

After entering Elena found a reception and went there. The receptionist, who was an old man took her to a room that was filled with books. Elena was actually quite excited as she was able to witness one of the cliches of a cultivation novels of an old but strong grandpa sitting in the library. This old receptionist was a peak master rank and was one of the strongest in the whole sect.

After entering the room Elena saw many book shelves and each of the book shelves were categorised depending on their content. Elena soon found the book shelf that was containing the fire element cultivation technique and started to go through them one by one. She had already expected it but the quality of these techniques were quite disappointing. But she was still having fun going through them.

One of the techniques was named "Grand Flame Overlord Sutra". And the description mentioned this technique to be very overpowering and strong. But actually this technique was a failed one as it can only be cultivated till the early stage veteran rank that was equivalent to just reaching level 110 or so. It was quite a pathetic technique with a grandiose name.

After searching through the whole section and seeing many funny techniques Elena was able to find only 4 techniques that were somewhat decent. One of the techniques was actually a cliche weak sounding and unpopular but actually very strong technique.

After some time Elena finally made her decision to not choose that technique as it would be a bit eye-catching for her to get one of the best techniques of the outer sect so she just picked up a technique called "Nine Sun Great Technique". It was the second best technique and for some people could even perform better than the "Fire Breathing Art" which was the cliche one.

As Elena expected, the old grandpa was a little bit impressed by her for choosing a good technique but not so much as this was the best one. She then left the repository and went back to her house.

Normally now a disciple would try out the technique and would work hard to become an elementary cultivator as soon as possible. But as Elena did not have any need for that, she just started to read a book to pass the time.

In the evening, Elena once again went to the cafeteria to get her dinner and this time had dinner with a new group of disciples. This group was way more irritating than the first one as it consisted of an arrogant girl and two horny boys who were lusting after that girl. So Elena quickly finished her dinner and went back to her house without interacting much with this irritating group.

The next day, all the new disciples were called to the large ground. There they saw three elders of the sect with 10 inner sect disciples standing behind them. When all the new disciples had gathered one of the elders spoke up -

"I'm an outer court elder of the Emerald Palace, Hong Jueji. Today I'm going to inform all of you about our sects rules. First of all, you all are forbidden to kill any of your fellow disciples but friendly fighting is allowed. If you have any major problem with a fellow disciple, then contact an elder and ask for a duel. Do you all understand ?"

"Yes." Everyone replied.

"For the second rule, as the sect is taking care of you by giving you food, lodging and even precious cultivation techniques, we want our disciples to also contribute to the sect. All the disciples needed to complete at least one sect mission every month or they will be punished and expelled from the sect."

Seeing that everyone was silent and they were listening to him properly he continued -

"And the third and the final rule is that everyone should respect the hierarchy of the sect. The common outer sect disciples are at the bottom of the hierarchy and above them are the seated outer sect disciples. And above those seated outer sect disciples are the inner sect ones. A disciple who is on the lower hierarchy cannot slander or go against someone from a higher hierarchy. So always try to improve your hierarchy if you all want to not become subordinates to others. But don't worry. If you work hard enough the sect will always support you."

Hearing what the elder said all the new and inexperienced disciples took in a deep breath. They also became very nervous but at the same time their hunger for strength grew. Elena was quite impressed by the tactics the Emerald Palace implemented to motivate the disciples.

"The disciples standing behind me are from the inner sect. They will now choose some of you as their servant disciples who would have a higher hierarchy level then the common ones. Now who wants to become their servant ?"
