At first no one responded and many new disciples looked at each other with a tense expression. Becoming a servant was equivalent to losing all freedom which obviously no one was willing to be. Seeing this elder Hong smiled slightly as if it was a common sight for him each year then he added -

"Becoming a servant of an inner sect disciple is not a bad deal at all. You will not lose all your freedom by becoming one. It is actually a type of privilege that only a few could enjoy. As I have mentioned before, an inner sect servant disciple would be higher up in the hierarchy than the common outer sect disciples. So even if you agree to become one, if none of the inner sect disciples like you then you will not be chosen. It is actually a rare opportunity and don't miss it."

Hearing the elder explaining about the servant disciple status one of the brave new disciples raised his hand and asked -

"Respected Elder, can I ask a question ?"

Elder Hong was in a good mood by seeing the respectful attitude of the new disciple so he cheerfully replied -

"Ask anything you're confused about."

"Elder, is there a chance for the servant disciples to be promoted to inner disciple ?"

"Obviously. If your talent is good enough and you can raise your cultivation to a certain degree then the sect will make you an inner or even a core disciple. And you just have to run some errands for the inner sect disciples after becoming a servant disciple, it's not too bad of a deal as I had mentioned before."

Hearing this, that boy greeted his teeth and stepped out from the group of new disciples and introduced himself -

"I'm Jiang Suyang. I have a fire attribute affinity with an aptitude score of 68. I'm hardworking and can do almost anything."

One of the inner sect disciples who was wearing a purple gaudy dress replied -

"Even though your talent is not very good, I like your attitude. You can become my servant."

As soon as he said so another inner sect disciple spoke up -

"Fufu, Gu Hanjou, you're a vicious man, this little brother would not be happy with a cruel man like you. Come on, little brother Jiang. Join this big sister Hu Shitong and I will take good care of you."

This inner sect disciple was wearing a revealing pink outfit and she looked quite sexy. Seeing her Jiang Suyang could not help gulping down his saliva. At that moment elder Hong asked -

"So, Jiang Suyang, whom do you choose ?"

Hearing the question, Jiang Suyang's face turned red and he replied in a shy voice -

"I want to join big sister Hu."

Hearing that Gu Hanjou clicked his tongue and mattered with irritation - "Tch. Another one got bewitched by this vixen." Elena understood that the decision this immature young man made was a wrong and probably a very dangerous one but she had no reason to stop him. So she just watched the whole incident with disinterest.

After seeing Jiang Suyang getting accepted by such a beauty, many disciples came to the front to introduce themselves in order to become a servant disciple. Some were not chosen by any one and some were chosen by one of the inner sect disciples, like that almost 80 new disciples become servant disciples of the inner sect.

But most of the disciples that went ahead to become servant disciples had an aptitude score score of less than 70. So they were not considered very talented. None of the disciples with an aptitude score of above 70 went to become a servant disciple as they had enough confidence in themselves to directly become an inner sect disciple in the future.

Obviously Elena also did not go ahead to become a servant disciple as it was out of the question. If she became someone's servant even in jest, that person would be cursed by the whole world and would die a dog's death.

After all the inner sect disciples were done with choosing their servants, the elders came to the front stage and elder Hong spoke up -

"Now, we elders are going to choose a few new disciples as our personal disciple candidate. Your status will be the same as the seated outer sect disciples and can even become inner sect disciples if you can impress us. And here no one needs to step forward. We elders have already chosen we will just call you out."

Hearing that all the new disciples cheered. Having a chance at becoming an elder's personal disciple was a big deal. Every student who did not choose to become a servant disciple hoped to be chosen and the new servant disciples blamed their hasty decision for missing such a great chance.

Soon the elders started to call out several disciples one after another. Yu Shiyuan, Lan Tuning and Huang Murongguan, the three girls with whom Elena met the previous day all were selected by the elders to become personal disciple candidates.

Yu Shiyuan had great connections, Lan Tuning's aptitude score of 78 was really very awesome and Huang Murongguan had a rare ice element affinity, so it was not a surprise that all of them  were chosen.

But a surprising thing happened and Elena, who had taken the false name of Lu Kao was also chosen by an elder. This elder was a lady in her forties and she looked very kind. She was also the elder who had chosen the highest number of personal disciple candidates.

This was something that Elena could not resist as a normal disciple so she decided to become the personal disciple candidate as this could also be counted as a normal experience of a cultivation disciple. Then all the chosen disciples were taken to a hall and others who were not chosen just returned back to their houses.

The number of personal disciple candidates who were chosen was not high. Only 35 new disciples were given this chance. So they were quite excited to get this awesome chance. The elders told them that they were all chosen based on the elders personal judgement and asked them to gather around the elders who chose them.

The elder who chose Elena was named Cao Ruyan. She was also one of the most powerful person of the outer court and was famous as a very kind person. Among the 35 chosen disciples, she alone had chosen 11 disciples and all of them were females.

After all the 11 disciples gathered around her, she said in a calm and gentle voice -

"Hello everyone, I'm Cao Ruyan, an elder of the outer sect. You all have great talents enough to impress me, so I want all of you to do your best and try to become an inner sect disciple. We have a limited slot of core disciples so all you have to give more than one hundred percent of your efforts to become successful."

Seeing that all the girls were looking at her with a serious expression on their face, she was satisfied and continued -

"As all of you are now my personal disciple candidates, I will personally teach all of you once every week. If you have any doubt in your cultivation, you can note them down and ask me later. I will also give all of you a greeting gift of 10 cash tokens that can be used as money inside the sect. One cash token is more or less equal to one hundred R and I will give all of you a skill as my greeting gift. I am expecting a lot from all of you."

Hearing her words all the girls rejoiced and promised to not let her down. They all felt very lucky to meet such a good teacher. Normally an elder will not care about a personal disciple candidate as they were still candidates and not their real personal disciple. So Cao Ruyan's care was able to win everyone's heart.

Elena did not ask any questions and showed any abnormal behaviour. She went with the flow and behaved like the other girls. She looked at Cao Ruyan with adoration and even acted happily after knowing about her gifts. So no one paid any extra attention to her.

Elena was actually quite impressed by Cao Ruyan as she was genuinely a good person. So she decided to give her something as a gift before she left the sect. Just as Elena was going out, Lan Tuning called out to her. She was also chosen by elder Cao Ruyan so currently they were fellow sisters.

"Sister Lu, wait. Are you going to the cafeteria ?"

"Yes, I was planning to."

"Awesome, then let's go together."

"Okay, let's."

Then she went toward the cafeteria with Lan Tuning and soon the other nine disciples also joined them. They completely took over a large table in the cafeteria and the eating session turned into a girl's talk session. Even though Elena was not trying to become the centre of attention, many girls were asking her questions and she also answered them as those questions were not big of a deal and she felt like letting them know that she was quite intelligent would not be a bad thing.

So, even though Elena did not become the centre of attention as her talents were not top notch among the fellow disciples, but due to her helping quite a lot of her fellow sisters, many had a favourable impression about her. Then she returned back to her residence after finishing her breakfast.

Elena's life as a sect disciple was going on quite nicely.
