Restart: The World Savior's New Beginning

Chapter 308: Ch 308: The City of Nigur

The rest of the journey was problem free. The flying ship did get attacked by a flying bird type beast but the escort team was able to handle it quite easily. Actually the escort team working for the ship was quite competent, but the last pirate attack was just way too much for them to handle.

After returning from her exciting role playing adventurer Elena did not go out for the rest of the journey. She wanted to enjoy this luxurious suite to its fullest. In her heart, she was still a person who enjoyed expensive things. So she was living her best life right now.

...

Whenever the flying ship stopped at a point Dalia, Elena and Eldriana left the ship and walked around the city. They saw various scenes, bought various things and ate various food items. All in all, they had a lot of fun during this journey.

Dalia was always busy with research and making alchemical drugs, so it was rare for her to enjoy a leisurely journey for her. It was even more true for Eldriana who had always lived a funless and boring life. So experiencing this type of fun was extremely exciting for her.

But every journey had an end and this journey was no different. Soon their flying ship landed in the city of Nigur.

...

Elena and the girls were looking at the city from the deck of the flying ship. It was an extremely large city spanning tens of miles. The traffic of this city was very high and more than 2 million elves lived here. This city was very different from other elvin cities. All the cities inhabited by elves had a calm and pleasant atmosphere. The population was never high and loud sounds were very rare.

But for this city, loud sound was the norm. If people did not hear loud sounds for some time, they would feel weird and would think that some kind of danger was approaching this city. Many high ranking explorers lived here so it was a very safe city and monster attacks were never anything to fear. But for the same reason the internal security of the city was not good. Explorers were mostly a rude bunch and this city's explorers were no different.

The city itself was very different from other cities. In most of the cities, the commoner's district and the nobles district was separated by a wall or the city itself was divided into several parts like commerce district, residential district etc. But that was not the case with this city.

In the middle of the city, instead of the lord's mansion, the explorer office was located there. This was also one of the largest explorer offices of this continent. Surrounding the explorer office, various inns, taverns and eateries were present to cater to the explorers. Those places were surrounded by various shops that sold items needed by explorers like preserved food, weapons, magic items, scrolls, medicine and more. And only after that, regular stores selling things like daily life items or vegetables appeared.

The whole city felt like it was divided into four layers. At the core, the explorer office was located. Then it was followed by inns and restaurants where explorers lived and ate. After that finally the market appeared where they did their shopping. This whole city was completely dependent on the explorers. There was no residential area here as almost all the people living here were either explorers or the merchants selling and buying from the explorer. The ruler of the city itself was a famous explorer which made this system even more normal for the residents of this city.

...

After leaving the luxurious suite of the flying ship behind with some reluctance, the girls first went to the explorer office at the centre of this city. All the explorers needed to first report here after coming to the city of Nigur. As there was a very large number of explorers present in this city, the explorer office maintained a strong control over them to stop them from committing crimes or such.

But this whole process of reporting their arrival was very easy. They just needed to give their explorer license to the receptionist and she would check its authenticity and add your data to the database. The whole process took less than 30 seconds to complete. This office was extremely large and had a total of 20 receptionist desks. So even in the busiest of times, it was not too hectic.

After her their reporting was done, Elena immediately asked for a permit to enter the "Forgotten Ruins of the Bygone Days". This was the ruin they were going to challenge and they needed a permit to enter it. Hearing the request, the receptionist smiled apologetically and replied -

"I'm very sorry but currently we are all giving any more permits for that ruin. It is one of the most famous ruins of this city for lower ranking explorers, so its demand is always very high. You three can try for the permit next week. Until then why don't you all visit the "Primitive Forest" ruin. I think it will be a perfect match for your power level."

This receptionist was quite good. She gave them a proper reason and even an alternative option to choose. Normally Elena would not mind it and taking on a different ruin for some time was not a bad idea, but currently Eldriana was in a critical moment in understanding her arts, so Elena wanted to make as many options available for her.

So she took out her Trump Card, a letter of introduction given to her by the ruler of this city and she handed over the booking fees to book both the "Forgotten Ruins of the Bygone Days" and "Primitive Forest".

After seeing the letter of introduction and finding it authentic, the receptionist immediately gave her the permits without any more questions. A person well liked by the Reichs had that privilege. Now Eldriana could choose to go to any of the two ruins whenever she felt like it. Elena also paid extra to book them for one whole year so she could take her time.

...

After leaving the explorer office, the girls went to find a place to stay. They had asked the receptionist and she had recommended them to book a small house instead of an inn as that was more helpful. It did need a hefty sum but it was quite useful and the advantages of having a base outweighed the disadvantages.

After searching around for some time, they were finally able to find a place that all three of the girls found to be alright and immediately booked it. Then they ate some food and rested for some time before getting ready to walk around the city as it had become their regular routine after they started traveling with Elena.
