The owner of the second weapon shop was actually Cabazit whose son's life was saved by Elena's help. The guild had informed her yesterday about the invitation but Elena did not go to him yesterday because she knew that he would be busy with his two sons who were lightly punished by her.
Cabazit's main business was not selling weapons as he was most famous in this city for selling various food ingredients. But as a dwarf with interest in blacksmithing and as he also had a lot of money, he recruited several decent blacksmiths and opened a weapon shop.
In terms of weapon quality this was not the best. But as there were many blacksmiths in this shop's employee, they were able to create weapons of regular quality in great amounts. So this shop was responsible for supplying weapons for the standing army of this city.
So, for Elena this shop was not very interesting but as Cabazit had invited her, Elena decided to go and meet him at least for a little bit. He was not a bad person so Elena had no reason to completely reject his invitation. After so much time, he was also done with the problems of his first and second sons so it was the perfect time to meet him.
...
When Elena reached the weapon shop, she was welcomed by a different looking male dwarf. All male dwarfs kept a long beard but this one had a shorter one. Elena who had only seen dwarfs with long beards felt a bit weird after seeing him.
But she soon snapped out of her surprise and started to look around the shop. This shop was way more professional than the other shops and it really felt like this place was run by a merchant and not a craftsman.
After going over the whole shop and finding nothing good, Elena informed the dwarf with a short beard about her identity and that their boss had invited her. That dwarf was not sure about it but as Elena did not look like someone who needed to lie in this situation, he made her to wait inside a room and sent a person to verify if she was telling the truth or not.
Soon it was verified that Elena was telling the truth and a carriage came to take Elena to Cabazit's house. She was treated with proper respect and was guided to a luxurious room. Soon Cabazit himself came to meet Elena.
He was a pleasant person to talk to and he also found Elena to not only be a powerful adventurer but she also turned out to be knowledgeable about business. So he was also having a good time talking with her.
When both of them were in the middle of discussing about how they should increase the trade between other cities, suddenly a servant barged into the luxurious room. Cabazit was immediately displeased as he interrupted his discussion but was surprised to see the scared look on his face.
Seeing that Cabazit immediately asked him what was wrong without wasting any time and the man replied with a scared voice.
"Master, the disaster suddenly became active again."
Hearing that Cabazit reflexively denied it and said -
"Nonsense, how can that be ? It had not even been three years since it was last active."
But seeing the serious expression on his subordinates face, Cabazit was forced to accept the situation. He immediately ordered him to prepare all the excess food and also to ask the blacksmiths working for him to mass produce arrows, axes and hammers.
Seeing the tense situation Elena was a bit surprised and asked Cabazit about it. After giving the order to his subordinate he did not have anything to do for at least 3 hours and hearing Elena's question and remembering that she came here recently from outside, he started to explain the situation to her.
...
There was a powerful monster known as "The Disaster". This was a level 245 monster. Even though it was not an A rank monster, as a peak B rank, no other B rankers from the nearby city were capable of defeating it.
There were three cities who were affected by this monster and the highest combat strength of those cities were just B ranks. For that reason, there was no adventurer who was capable of defeating this monster.
But there was a weird thing about this disaster. After fighting with the adventurers for a certain amount of time, it would suddenly stop fighting and would disappear below the sand. But then suddenly after 3 to 5 years it would appear again to attack the cities.
This monster was also capable of creating artificial monsters made of sand in large numbers and to fight them all the three of the cities needed to come together. While the B rankers of the city were busy fighting the monster, the other adventurers and soldiers needed to stop those sand monsters from entering the city.
Many had tried to find this monster in its inactive period but even after searching long and hard for it, no one had managed to find where this monster was when it was not active.
So for the last 50 plus years, they had repelled this monster for 13 times and all the time quite a few dwarves had died while defending the city from it.
Fighting this monster was almost like participating in a war. And Cabazit was responsible for supplying the soldiers of this Astatos city with food and weapons. That was the reason why he was so busy.
This city had a total of 2 proper B rankers and a retired one. Obviously the retired one was the guild master of the adventurer guild. Even though he was a proper B ranker in his hay day currently with age his stats had dropped a little bit. So currently he was barely at the B rank. But still in this critical situation for the cities, he had always participated in the fight against the disaster and had led the younger B rankers in the battle.
Normally this monster would only attack after at least 3 years. But this time suddenly it had awakened a bit earlier. It had only been a little over two years since the last battle. That was the reason why Cabazit was so surprised before.
Elena found this to be quite interesting. The thing which was most surprising was the fact that even after more than 50 years, no one had managed to find where this monster was hiding in its inactive period.
As Elena was thinking that, her guild card suddenly lit up. It was an urgent summon from the local Guild. Cabazit told her that it was probably related to the disaster and Elena nodded her head.
Then they bid good-bye to each other and went their separate ways. Cabazit needed to inspect the handling of supplies and Elena needed to report to the adventurer guild.
The situation was getting interesting.
