After Elena entered the adventurer guild she saw that the guild was busier than usual. The adventurers were also in a tense mood and the light-heartedness was not present among them. No one was drinking at the bar which was proof that the situation was not normal.

As soon as the young guild receptionist saw Elena her tensed face lit up with a smile. Then she ran up to her and told her that the guild master was wanting to meet with her in his office. Elena had no reason to reject this audience with the guild master and she went with the girl toward the head office of this branch of the adventurer guild.

After entering the room that was the guild master's office, Elena saw that Herald was busy with a mountain of paperwork. It was an amusing sight to see the guild master who was actually loaded with muscles to work furiously with a pen. It looked like he was having more trouble handling the paperwork in front of him than he ever had troubles with monsters in his life as an adventurer.

Seeing Elena he decided to take a short break from all these headache-inducing paperwork and to talk to Elena at the same time. So he poured a cup of tea for both himself and Elena and started the conversation.

"Miss Elena, do you know about the current situation ?"

Hearing the question, she nodded her head and replied -

"I was having a conversation with mister Cabazit when he was informed about the news. Then he kindly also explained it to me who was an outsider and had no idea about it."

When it appeared for the first time, it was able to deal a major blow to all three of the cities by killing several of their B rank adventurers. And when it left after killing them, several new monsters who were not local to the area and repopulated the area between the three cities.

So this way, all the advantages that the cities were managed to get with the hard work of its adventurers were lost immediately. After that time, this monster regularly attacked the three cities after a certain amount of time and constantly chipped away in their strength and foundation.

In the last fifty years after the disaster had appeared for the first time, those three cities were not able to make any significant progress because of this reason. This was very unnatural and Herald was able to feel that.

But she rejected the extra pay and just asked for enough money needed for the investigation mission for an A rank monster. As the Disaster was actually at the peak of B rank there was a high chance that an A ranker would be involved in it. That was the reason for Elena's price.

Just like that now Elena had a new special mission to complete.
