One day, Elena went out with a group of 9 ladies to hunt some monsters in the desert to use them as food. As all the ladies were taking care of their body very diligently, they needed a lot of meat in their diet. So regularly a few groups would go out of the village to hunt for monsters.

Monster meat was tastier and more nutritious than regular meat. So instead of keeping domestic animals, it was better for the villagers to regularly hunt for their food. Currently Elena was accompanying one such hunting team.

Normally a hunting team had 9 B rank members and an A ranker as their leader. The monsters that they targeted were also mostly B rank or at worst C rank. Anything in the lower grade than that would not be useful for them at all. And if they were able to find an A rank monster then it was even better.

Currently Elena was joining this group as an observer. At the last moment one of the B rank ladies who was supposed to join this team remembered that she needed to do the harvesting of her field today to get the best quality harvest, so she needed to withdraw from the team at the very last moment.

Elena was curious about how they hunted, so she decided to join the ladies to observe them. Addition of Elena could only be good and helpful for the team so all of them gladly accepted Elena. Just like that Elena was ready for a hunting trip.

The first type of monster that they were targeting was a group of Noveton. Noveton was a monster that looked like super large goats with a lot of fur. These monsters specialised in running on the desert sand and were also extremely powerful individually.

An individual Noveton was about 3 meters tall and was mostly between level 200 and 230. But a pack leader could go up to level 240 easily. Each pack of these monsters consisted of about 40 to 50 individuals. So together they were capable of giving a hard time to even an A ranker.

Even though these monsters looked like goats, they were not like goats at all in their eating habits. Novetons had very sharp teeth to tear apart the flesh of any tough monsters and they were strictly carnivorous. So these monsters were one of the most scary things one could encounter in the desert.

But the ladies of the sacred village had been hunting them for hundreds of years. So much so that they had become somewhat like natural enemies. Now these ladies were planning to hunt at least 5 novetons for today which would last them for quite some time.

But trying to hunt them from the front was very dangerous, so these ladies did not take the risk and instead started to prepare traps and other things like proper hunters. Elena was very impressed as she had really expected them to just attack the monsters as soon as they saw. It turned out that even these muscular ladies looked muscle brained, actually they were quite intelligent.

At first one of the B rank ladies who was good at hiding her presence went on ahead to scout the group of noveton. After she brought them the exact location of these monsters, the A rank leader started to make a plan.

These ladies had a very detailed map of the desert. The desert was one of the hardest things to map out as it could change its topography out of nowhere. But the village regularly sent people who were good navigators to update their maps with any new chances. So the maps that the girls had were brand new and were very very useful.

So first they created a few quicksand traps in a palace from here these monsters were supposed to pass. To create the traps they used a few talismans created by Viola who was good at ground magic. The ladies also got ready to ambush the monsters close to where the trap was.

As they had expected, very soon they saw dust flying high in the air at the distance and the group of monsters were coming toward the spot where the traps were. The A ranker who was also the leader of this team told everyone to get ready as the real hunt was about to begin.

Very soon the first monster fell into the trap and was followed by a second one. Soon five of the traps had managed to get a total of six novetons. Now they just needed to defeat them which should not be very hard with their powers and the hunt would be over.

But then suddenly something unexpected happened. Normally if some of the novetons fell into the trap their group would not try to help them and instead would try to run away as fast as possible. But today they did something different, instead of running away, they stopped running and surrounded the trapped novetons and got ready to fight. This was something that the ladies had not expected at all.

Soon the reason why these novetons were so confident became clear when two novetons stepped out from the group. They were one size bigger than the other novetons and were definitely more powerful than regular ones.

These were two novetons who had managed to evolve and had become a superior species of monsters. This rule of evolution was rare but not completely unexpected. The desert elvin hunting team had thought about something like this happening and that was the reason why an A ranker was there to lead them. In these types of situations, with her powers it would be possible to protect the other ladies or at least allow everyone to run away with their lives even if the hunt was a failure.

But the current situation was completely unexpected. It was not only one noveton that had managed to evolve but two. So now the opposite side had two A ranks and about fifty B ranks which was overwhelmingly superior to the fighting power of the hunting team.

That would be the case for normal situations but it turned out that the sudden withdrawal of one of the members of their hunting team was a stroke of good luck for them as only for that reason Elena was with them who was a S ranker.

But Elena had told that she was only going to observe them and would help them in carrying the hunted monsters but she would not help them in battle. So the A rank leader requested Elena while bowing extremely low to escort the other B rankers safely to the village while they would try to buy as much time as possible. In the eyes of the A rank leader if her sacrifice could save the lives of the other girls then it was for the best.

Seeing her resolve, Elena smiled and nodded her head. Seeing that the leader was relieved and told her group members to follow Elena back to the village. Then she stepped toward the group of the monsters with the resolve to die a brave warrior's death.

She fought nonstop with nothing in mind but to buy as much time as possible. After exchanging a few thousand blows soon she found herself on the verge of death.

But then she fainted and after waking up found herself back to her house inside the village.
