First Elena and Tomoe decided to enter the Lammrok forest to find a plant called Gynihiuga. It was a rare plant that only grew in the unique environment of the Lammrok forest. This Lammrok forest was an area that everyone tried to avoid. Only people with at least A rank strength were able to even think about coming here and only S rankers were able to go to the depths.

So the reason why this forest was so dangerous was the plants that inhabited it. This forest had absolutely no animals or birds and only plants grew there. These plants were all dangerous and were even capable of killing a S ranker if the situation was right. As no people came to this forest for a long long time, these plants grew up more and more becoming even more dangerous. With that this place had now turned into a dangerous danger zone.

As Elena and Tomoe got closer to the forest, they were able to see extremely large trees with dangerous looking vibes wrapping all around it. These plants were the least dangerous ones of this forest but even they were capable of killing any regular B rank powerhouse. Just by getting close to the forest Tomoe was able to feel the danger that this place possessed. There were definitely quite a few S rank beings lurking around inside it.

Tomoe's body tensed up and her grip on her beloved sword tightened as she got closer and closer to the forest. Elena patted her on the back once to loosen her nerves and being too nervous while entering this dangerous place would not be good.

Tomoe took a deep breath and composed herself. Her body was still tensed but this time it was not because of nervousness but because of battle readiness. Tomoe was now fully alert and in this state it would be extremely hard to take her without someone way above her level attacking her. After that both of them entered the forest.

As soon as they stepped foot inside it some of the trees started to shake and the vines started to wriggle like crazy. The whole forest was showing its unwillingness to allow these intruders entry. But obviously Elena and Tomoe did not stop from this show of intimidation and continued forward. Seeing that these intruders were unwilling to go back, finally all the trees and vines attacked and were immediately cut into pieces by Tomoe.

But that display of strength did not stop the plants from attacking at all as more and more vines tried to wrap around them and more trees threw various heavy things. But Tomoe cut all of them down with her precise swordsmanship without breaking a sweat.

After about an hour of continuous struggle the attacks suddenly stopped. All the plants of this area that were capable of attacking had disappeared. Actually a good chunk of the forest had completely disappeared with this demonstration from Tomoe. Even though Tomoe was able to get through this area without much trouble anyone whose strength was not on her level would definitely have died here.

So after taking care of the plants here, Tomoe and Elena went in. This time they were not attacked by the plants even after they entered the territory of other intelligent plants. The war because all the plants of the forest were connected to one another via their roots and were able to send information to each other. That way all the other plants were already aware of Elena's and Tomoe's strength and had no reason to just throw their lives away.

Did that mean Elena and Tomoe were now free to roam the forest as much as they wanted ? No, that was not the case. All the plants were currently just waiting for these two intruders to enter the area where stronger plants would be able to reach and then all the plants would again launch an all out assault.

The plant that they needed to find grew close to the entrance of the forest but no one knew exactly where. So even though currently this area was safe for Tomoe and Turin, they still needed to search a very large area to find it. With how many plants grew here, they really need to look very closely to not miss it.

As Elena and Tomoe started the search, the plants grew more and more active around them as more and more time passed. Elena and Tomoe were not going any deeper so they were not close to the territory of any of the stronger plants. And the way they were looking at the plants as material was making them mad. So all the plants surrounding them were about to lose their control.

Tomoe also felt the atmosphere changing and got ready for a fight again. She had not let her guard down at all even when the plants did not attack them so she was currently perfectly ready for another battle. But after a few moments the tense situation around the plants again calmed down and everything became silent again. Tomoe was a bit surprised by this but she did not mind it and continued her searching while not dropping her guard at all.

This turned out to be a very good decision as after some time a giant tree suddenly appeared. It was not a normal tree but a treant. It had twelve thick roots that it was using as its legs for walking around the forest. Most of the plants of this forest were unable to move from the spot where it was situated but there were a few plants that were able to move and this treant was one of them.

As soon as Tomoe sensed the treant's presence she had taken out her sword and had made a run toward it. She could feel that this treant was not weak and if she did not take the initiative in the battle then it might become dangerous for her if she was surrounded from all sides.

The battle started between Tomoe and the Treant while all the other plants tried their best to help the Treant by distracting Tomoe with their huge numbers. Tomoe did her best to not get distracted by them but at the end of the day she was only a single person and fighting against a formidable enemy while so many weaker enemies attacking her was not easy.

But at that moment Elena finally decided to step in. She had not done anything so far mostly because Tomoe was still doing relatively fine. But now it was getting a little bit more dangerous so Elena finally decided to step in. But she did not stop her search for the special plant while keeping all the plants away from Tomoe with her magic.

Very soon Elena was finally able to see the bright blue flower of the plant that they were trying to find. She immediately picked it up and called out to Tomoe who had also just finished her battle. The Treant was cut in quite a few pieces and now it was dead. As Elena had already gotten the plant that they were searching for, they had no more reason to stay in this dangerous place and they immediately decided to get out of the forest.

That was how Elena and Tomoe were able to complete their first S rank mission in the vampire continent.
