The bandit group that had taken over this location were not a very big group but their average level was on the higher side. So among the bandits this group would be considered as an elite one. This type of group was actually favourite of Elena as usually they had a lot more loot than a regular bandit group with a lot of members.

Before starting the raid, Elena started to teach Tomoe everything she needed to know about bandit hunting. This was not the first time Elena was telling her about this but this time with a live demonstration, Elena was sure that Tomoe would be able to master the art of bandit hunting very well.

Actually Tomoe was also very interested in knowing why her big sister who was very indifferent to most of the things was so excited by this. For that reason, Tomoe observed Elena very closely. Elena was a very experienced person in these kinds of things so Tomoe was sure to learn a lot today.

First Elena told Tomoe that before attacking a bandit hideout, she needed to cut off all the escape roots. This was a hard thing to do especially if she was acting alone. And if she was in a team, a few members needed to guard those escape roots.

But for a lone adventurer, the best solution was to have summoned or tamed beasts. Even if the beasts were not very powerful, at least they should be able to track which way the bandits ran away. Then the adventurer could chase after those runaway bandits.

But just blindly following them was not safe. If the bandits ran away in a hurry, there was very little chance that they had anything valuable on them. So chasing after them just to fall into a trap for almost no value was not a good thing. One should always try to eradicate all the bandits but if for some reason the bandits were able to run away, it was better to leave them be if the power gap between the bandits and the chasing adventurer was minimum.

Elena did have her summons but for most of the time, she liked to use barriers to cut off the escape roots. But Elena knew that barriers were extremely hard to master especially the barrier that she used which was hard to detect. So for this part Elena always advised to do what suited that person most.

Elena also did not immediately attack the bandits. If she had some time in hand, she observed them while hiding to find out more about the hidden locations where these bandits might hide their treasures. And if she was in a hurry, then she would take a little bit of time to find the people who looked to have a lot of information and got rid of them only after learning all that information from them.

Elena also tried to avoid using wide area magic while hunting bandits. That was because most of the bandit hideouts had innocent civilians kidnapped there. So using wide area magic could be harmful to them. But if she was able to make sure that no innocent person was present in the hideout then wide area magic was actually the best choice.

As Tomoe watched Elena methodically got rid of all the bandits and even saved about 7 hostages, she was very impressed. There were actually a few bandits who were trying to act as innocent kidnapped people but Elena was able to identify them immediately. Actually Tomoe would have fallen for that acting as her experience in this kinds of things was very high so she was even more impressed.

Actually Elena was able to discern who was the real victim and who was a fake with just a look. It was the result of her saving many many people who had their lives ruined by bandits. It was not something one could simply learn and only with enough experience a person could master this.

This bandit group turned out to be a very infamous one. Not only because of their viciousness but also for their cunning. The name of this group was Shadow Hounds and just a few weeks ago they were active in a faraway location from this area.

This group did not stay in one place for very long and tried their best to not leave any eye witnesses behind. That way they were able to earn a lot and at the same time would face significantly less danger to their lives.

And whenever there was a sign that the guild might be able to track them down, they immediately changed their location. Even if the place where they were was very profitable, they were very decisive in running away. And that was how this group had managed to escape any danger. But this time they were extremely unlucky.

The victims that Elena saved from the bandits were ladies and they were actually the very first batch of people who were unlucky enough to be targeted by the group. All these ladies were actually a part of a small traveling entertainment company and their whole company was destroyed by this group just two days ago.

This bandit gang had just appeared in this area and this was the first big job that they did. All the men of that entertainment company were killed and only quite a few ladies also died. These seven were captured by them to be used as slaves.

Elena felt very bad for those ladies who now had absolutely nothing to their name and all their close friends and families were dead. So she decided to do something for them. She wanted to give them a way so that these ladies would again be able to live their lives with their head held high.

Elena actually kept the leader of the bandit alive and allowed the ladies to vent their anger on him before killing him. This was a very effective way to stabilize a victim's mind and Elena was fine using a scum for this matter. If his getting beaten up could even give these ladies a little bit of relief then that was a good thing in Elena's book. At least this way, trash could have some value.

This was also a very important lesson that Elena taught Tomoe. It was not something Elena forced anyone to do. But to everyone she had taught bandit Hunting, Elena had requested them to take care of the victims with care. No one had the responsibility to take care of these people but still Elena wanted her friends to at least be a bit sympathetic. Even just letting her know about these unfortunate people was enough as the current Elena was strong enough to take care of them.

The population of Elena's mini world was actually increasing bit by bit and that was not because the residents living inside were breeding like crazy but because many victims of this type of incidents were getting a new home in that mini world of hers. Not only from this world but from many other worlds that Elena had visited before.

So after calming all the victims down and taking away all the loots, Elena and Tomoe went back to the city to report about everything to the guild.
