The people did not really care about it that much, as Duke Karl Moronto had been ruling over them for quite some time and even without this ceremony, after so many years, the citizen already immensely trusted his ability as their ruler.

Next, a famous dancer from the city came to perform on the stage. Actually Karl had already requested Elena to perform in the closing ceremony. But Elena had rejected this request because she felt that as this ceremony was primarily for the people living in this city, so an outsider like her should not take the stage.

Those gems also started glowing and in no time the shape of a formation became clear to anyone watching over the city from the sky. This was a special city protecting formation that could strengthen the barrier of the city. A little bit of magic energy was also extracted from all the citizens. This was a miniscule amount that would not affect their regular life at all.

With that all the preparations for the barrier were completed. Immediately, the city protecting barrier that generally remained invisible appeared before everyone's eyes. Then a new stream of energy was added to the barrier. This new energy started to replace the old barrier with a new more robust one. Even with proper maintenance, the strength of the previous barrier had seen a slight decline after a whole year. But this new barrier solved that flaw immediately.

Seeing the whole city getting covered in the new barrier, all the citizens felt safe. This barrier was extremely powerful and was able to withstand attacks for even S rank powerhouses. So this barrier was definitely the best form of protection that the citizens could get.
