Elena and Tomoe were sitting on a large mountain top while looking at the city of Moronto at the distance. As the festival was over, all the decorations adorning the city were also gone. But still the city was looking extremely beautiful.

Elena and Tomoe were soon going to be separated from everyone else. Even Turin who came to the vampire continent with them was going back to his home. After staying with such good friends for so long, Tomoe was definitely feeling a bit sad when separating for them.

But at the same time, in the depths of her heart, she was also a little happy because she would be able to continue her duo adventure with Elena. After journeying with this elder sister of hers for so long, Elena had become the number one person in her heart. So Tomoe was always happy to have more chances to travel and adventure with Elena.

Elena had already planned for their next destination. The other ladies and even Turin had invited her to help them with their work but Tomoe had rejected all of them. For her choosing Elena over everyone else was an easy choice. As for Elena she still needed to get her hands on a continent wide trading permit for the ladies she had saved and for the company she was planning to create. For that she needed to meet with the vampire queens and had to get the permit from the Queen Council.

For that reason, Elena was planning to visit the city of Neel next. This was a city which was not under the rule of any vampire nobles and instead it was the home of one of the vampire queens. Obviously the other queens also had their own residence but regular people had no idea where these residences were. Most of the vampire queens were also extremely secretive so even high ranking noble vampires had no idea about most of the vampire queens' residences. For that reason going to a city where a vampire queen obviously lived was the best course of action in this situation.

Obviously, it was possible for Elena to find the residences of all the vampire queens in seconds. She could even ask the vampire goddess for a favour and the trading permit would immediately be given to her. But in that case, Elena would not be able to enjoy the fun journey needed to achieve this result. That was the reason why Elena was taking this hard road to solve this problem.

After bidding goodbye to everyone, Elena and Tomoe left the city the very next day. Just like always, Elena had given all of them a special item with which they would be able to keep in touch with Elena. Not only that but Elena and Tomoe also promised to come and meet with all of them before leaving the vampire continent.

So even though everyone was sad, they were able to get over it rather quickly. Unlike humans, all the people who became close with Elena this time around were from a long living race. So they were less worried about parting as with their super long life, the chance of them meeting again was very high.

The city of Neel was located at the northern edge of the vampire continent. To go there, Elena and Tomoe needed to journey for about a month. This was not a long time but still Elena wanted to use the shortest possible path. Almost no one used this shortest path because it saved only about 3 days from this long journey and it was extremely dangerous. So saving only three days in exchange for great danger was not a good deal for most people. So most people avoided it.

But as adventurers, these types of dangerous routes were exactly what Elena and Tomoe liked. So, after knowing about the existence of this route, they immediately decided to follow it. This shortest route actually went through not one, not two but five danger zones. So it was definitely going to be fun navigating it.

Elena and Tomoe came to know about this route in a city called Hazava which was also their first stop in this journey. Then after gathering information in the city for a day, they left it the very next day. Then after walking away from the city for about 5 hours, they came across the first danger zone that they needed to pass.

This danger zone did not have any powerful monsters or threats like that and instead it was a cave network filled with poisonous gas. This network was quite complex so without having a map, it was extremely hard to navigate it. And this place was also filled with a special poisonous gas which was effective against even an A ranker if they did not take any precautions. So this place was definitely worthy of being considered as a danger zone.

But obviously for Elena and Tomoe, this place was not considered dangerous at all. The poison here had no effect on them and maps of this place were available in the city. So even though those maps cost quite a penny, Elena and Tomoe had bought one to save themselves from the hassles.

But after starting their journey, Elena and Tomoe soon run into a problem. They were following a route that took only an hour to take them out of the cave network but after about 15 minutes of walking they saw that one of the cave pathways had been destroyed for some reason. So this map was not up to date.

There was not just one way to get out of this cave network. So this was not the end of the line for Elena and Tomoe. They once again consulted the map and tried out a different route. Fortunately this time, they did not come across any discrepancy from the map and were able to leave the cave system without any problem.

After leaving the cave system, Elena and Tomoe found themselves very close to a city called Xarocosa. For a week or so they did not need to worry about any more danger zones. So Elena and Tomoe were planning to take it slow during this phase of the journey. It was not like they were going to be too serious even during the dangerous phase so it was not really too different from their usual conduct.

The city of Xarocosa had a thriving industry of metalware. So Elena and Tomoe were definitely planning to do some serious shopping there. With that in mind, Elena and Tomoe entered the city.

After booking a room in an expensive and reputable inn, they came to know from the inn owner that the best craftsman of the city had stopped working because his daughter had suddenly fallen ill. Hearing that Elena and Tomoe went to that craftsman to see the situation there.

With their identity as S rankers, they were immediately given the best treatment and were invited in. The craftsman himself came to meet them and he had a request. The doctors had managed to find the solution to his daughter's illness but to gather the materials for the medicine, he needed the help of high ranking adventurers. So he had a mission for Elena and Tomoe who were S rank adventurers.

So after getting the promise that this craftsman was going to work his hardest for Elena and Tomoe to make them his best piece, they decided to take a little detour in this journey of theirs.
