The first half of the journey toward the mountain peak was very peaceful as there were no monsters here. But the speed at which they moved was very slow as the effect of the region was strengthening continuously. For that reason, Tomoe needed to stop quite a few times to re-calibrate her senses. Both of them also came across several corpses of vampires on their way.

As they were the bodies of dead vampires, the corpses were completely intact. Anyone seeing them would just think that they were merely sleeping and were not dead. Actually after a vampire's death, without any special circumstances, the body of a vampire should turn into ashes. So vampires usually did not leave a corpse behind. But here that was not the case.

The reason for that was the special nature of this place. All these vampires had failed to withstand the extreme perception shifting and their consciousness had been wiped out. For that reason, the speed at which Elena and Tomoe traveled this danger zone had also become faster.

Very soon, they were halfway up the mountain and at that time, another danger of this area showed itself. That danger was a mirror-like structure. This structure suddenly appeared before Tomoe when she was focusing on her mind, so it took her by surprise and Tomoe's figure flashed on the mirror.

Immediately, a being appeared before her that looked the same as Tomoe but had a lighter skin tone and red hair. This lady was also using a spear as her weapon. The mirror that had appeared before Tomoe was another one of the dangers of this place called "Mirror of Inverse Life". It had the ability to create a living being who would exactly be the opposite of the person whose figure had appeared in the mirror.

From what Tomoe observed, this being was still slightly weaker than herself. This was also a flaw of these mirrors as any being that they could create would be only 90 percent as strong as the real one. In that case, the main body should always have an advantage in any confrontation but that was not the case at all.

The reason for that was because, these beings created by the Mirror of Inverse Life were immortal. As long as the main body of the mirror was not destroyed, the mirror could give birth to the bodies continuously. Not only that but as these beings did not fear dead, they could unleash all their powers without holding anything back since the very beginning. So fighting them was extremely troublesome. The only good thing in his matter was the fact that only one copy could exist at any moment.

Tomoe soon started to fight her inverse clone who was using the power of ice. And as for Elena, the power of the Mirror of Inverse Life was ineffective on her. As soon as the figure of Elena flashed in the mirror, the mirror was immediately wiped out from existence. This thing was just too weak to even comprehend the essence of Elena.

The fight Tomoe and her inverse clone lasted for quite some time. As Tomoe was slightly stronger than the clone, the first battle was easily won by her. After a good opportunity, Tomoe was able to slice off the head of her clone with a well placed sword strike.

But almost in no time, another clone appeared before her and she started fighting again. This time as Tomoe was feeling a little bit tired, the battle lasted for longer. But still Tomoe was able to again kill her clone. But just like before another clone started appearing before Tomoe again.

But this time instead of getting ready to fight the clone again, Tomoe ran toward a certain location and slashed at it with her sword. Suddenly a static appeared in the air and then the dissected body of a mirror also appeared. As soon as that happened, the clone that was manifesting also disappeared.

Actually when Tomoe defeated the first clone, she was able to slightly guess the location of the mirror when the second clone appeared. But then when the third clone started appearing, Tomoe finally was able to lock onto the main body of the mirror and cut it down.

After this incident was over, Tomoe and Elena continued their journey again. They still had the other half of the mountain to climb.
