Chapter 525: Ch 525: Buying a House

There were several offices located in the area which were responsible for various duties. To find themselves a place to live, Elena and Tomoe visited the Public Help department that was responsible for helping everyone out on a variety of things. The guards told Elena and Tomoe that they were the best people in the city to find them a good house.

The office of the Public Help department was quite large but very unassuming. Upon entering it, they saw that all the employees looked extremely busy with their work. Only the receptions had free time as not many visitors were in the building.

Without wasting any time Elena and Tomoe went to one of the halls. A vampire lady with bright red hair was managing this reception and after seeing Elena and Tomoe, she smiled professionally and asked how she could help them. Elena told her that they wanted to find a house and immediately the receptionist lady visibly became happier.

Then she took out a bundle of papers and asked Elena and Tomoe for their budget and preferences. Tomoe was interested in knowing what kind of preferences they were allowed to choose and asked the receptionist lady named Nave about it.

Nave told them that they were able to choose the size of the house, colour, number of rooms, availability of certain areas like garden or large bath, number of servants, power of the magical defense system and lot more. So basically Elena and Tomoe just needed to tell Nave about what they wanted in their house and she would do her best to find the perfect house that matched with most of their wishes.

Hearing that Elena told her what she wanted from her house. First of all, it should definitely be decently large with most if not all the available entertainments. Next the place needed to be comfortable to live in. That was the two most basic needs that Elena had for her house. Other than that everything else was negotiable.

Those were really easy preferences and most of the expensive houses matched those demands perfectly. But before telling Elena and Tomoe about any of them, Nave again asked them about their budget. And in reply Elena casually said that it was unlimited and Nave could just show them all the best ones. It was clear that Elena did not care about money at all. This fact made Nave even happier and she started showing them the best picks among the available houses.

After going through 25 houses, Elena finally made her choice. The house she chose was not the most expensive one from the list but it was just a few thousand R lower than the most expensive one. But the location and the looks of this house was better than the number one house of this area in Elena's opinion. So ultimately she decided to book for a month.

Again after learning that Elena and Tomoe were going to stay in that expensive house for a whole month, Nave became so happy that she was unable to stop smiling lightly. This time Tomoe was unable to hold back her curiosity anymore and asked Nave why she suddenly became this happy.

Seeing that her happy mood was seen by her client, Nave felt a bit embarrassed and told them the reason for it. Actually according to the rule of this place, if a receptionist was able to make a customer book an expensive property, then she would be able to get a massive bonus. The more expensive the booked property was, the bigger her bonus would be. So Elena booking one of the most expensive properties was equivalent to her getting a huge bonus from this incident. That was the reason why she looked so happy.

Learning the reason Tomoe was satisfied. Getting a bonus was always a happy thing for anyone. Then Elena also asked a question to Nave. She asked her if it was possible for Elena to buy a house in this area or not.

As soon as Elena asked her this question, Nave jumped up from her chair in excitement. Then with stars shining in her eyes, she asked Elena if she was serious about buying a house here. Then even before Elena could reply, Nave started listing various problems that were associated with buying a house in this area.

The most prevalent problem was obviously the cost of the houses. Even the cheapest house here costs a sum of money that even somewhat rich vampires would never be able to earn in their whole life. Then there was another problem. Due to the rules of the city, every house in the city should at least have a three layered defensive barrier, even if no one was living in the house. Maintaining this barrier needed expensive power sources, which again cost a lot of money.

Nave was planning to continue listing more troubles associated with the houses of this area but Elena stopped her midway and reassured her that she was fine with the prices of this area and was serious about buying a house. Hearing her anyone would think that instead of trying to sell a house, Nave was actively trying to prevent Elena from buying one. For that reason, she was getting a lot of side eyes. That was why Elena quickly stopped her before she could get in trouble with her boss.

Learning that Elena was really interested in buying a house, she took out a different stack of papers. This time there were not many papers in this bundle which meant Elena would not be getting too many choices to choose from. Looking at all the available properties for sale, Nave informed Elena that there were five low grade, three mid grade and only one high grade house available for sale.

Before Nave could ask which grade of house Elena was interested in buying, Elena already replied to her that she wanted the high grade house. Hearing that Nave was stunned again for some time but then she smiled like a booming blossom. She then excitedly told Elena that they would go and see the property in question first and then they could meet with the owner to negotiate the price.

Nave also promised to do her best in giving Elena the lowest possible price as she was friends with the owner of that property. The house that Elena and Tomoe had booked was also close by the house that they were planning to buy, so they could also take a look at that on their way.

The manager of the Public Help department had already been notified about this major matter. Before Elena and the other two ladies could leave the building, he himself came to them and started to politely ask them if they were happy with the reception.

Nave was known to be a bit of an airhead in the department so the manager was scared that this idiot might displease their valuable customer. He wanted to give them a new, more experienced receptionist to help them if Nave was displeasing then.

Elena and Tomoe both were quite pleased with Nave and enjoyed talking with her. So they rejected the manager's offer and told him that Nave was fine. Just like that, all three of them then went to see the properties.
