Restart: The World Savior's New Beginning

Chapter 561: Ch 561: First Mission of the Third Round

While all the candidates were busy recruiting their subordinates, all the overseers were keeping a close eye on them. Obviously the candidates mentioned in the prior meeting were getting a bit more attention than other participants but all the overseers were trying to observe all of the participants somewhat equally. For powerhouses like them, doing so was not anything difficult so they were easily able to do that.

This was an important part of the trial. Seeing how the participants were recruiting subordinates was very important as in this process, they would be able to see the mentality of the participants. If someone was trying to force people to become their subordinate or was promising then something that they were not planning to fulfil in the future, then those candidates were definitely not suited for the city lord role.

Graf was quite active in the first round but he had to be extremely inactive during the second because he himself was not good at the tasks of the second round. But again on the third round, he was very excited as this was something he knew relatively well and was capable of judging others in this field.

Seeing how excited Graf was, Elena decided take the backseat. She was only going to intervene if any of the other overseers made a massive mistake in their judgement. Other than that she was focusing on studying all the participants for their talents.

...

After one day had passed, all the participants had managed to find a few subordinates for them. All 27 of them at least had one person who had decided to join them. So none of the participants would be dismissed even before the start of the third round.

The participants who had managed to gain the most number of subordinate was none other than Natasha. Even most of the overseers had thought of her to be the best candidate for the role of city lord and many of the demons who were here to became subordinates thought the same. So in order to be in the winning side and to get the extra reward, a large number of people had joined her group.

But Natasha was actually quite strict with her selection. She had conducted thorough interview and had only taken in people she had found to be talented. Just from this much, everyone was able to see that just like she did in the previous two rounds, Natasha was definitely going to give a good performance in this round yet again.

As for the other participants that Elena had found interesting, Cavvel was doing relatively well. He had managed to find six people to be his subordinates which was not really a big number. But it looked like all of those six people respected him very much and were extremely loyal to him. Sometime having 1 loyal subordinates was better than having 10 not loyal subordinates. So Elena was looking forward to seeing how Cavvel's group was going to during this missions.

As for Ullar, he really had a hard time finding subordinates with his super bad luck. But still at the end of the day, he did manage to find five people who were also quite unlucky just like him. Some of them had been kicked out of their previous team and some others had failed to join the participants they wanted. So this team was quite chaotic and Elena was hoping that Ullar would be able to convince these people to give their all for him.

...

Just like that, the last round started. Graf was the one who was going to assign the first mission and his mission was quite simple. He took out a bunch of documents of various kinds and the teams needed to sort out all the documents accordingly. This was a task that Graf himself was bad at and he always depended on his excellent subordinates for this. That was the reason why he chose this as the first task for the candidates and their subordinates.

Soon everyone got busy with the papers. This task might sound simple but to really sort them properly, the subordinates needed to have some specialised knowledge which most of them did not have. Graf had actually made sure that all the papers that the candidates needed to sort were not too complex. So with their education, all the participants should be able to do the task on their own.

But that would take a lot of time. So the best thing to do in this situation would be for the candidates to teach their subordinates about those documents so that they could help the participants out with this work. Elena was actually very impressed by Graf because this was a quite well thought out mission.

...

Various candidates took various amount of time completing this simple first mission. With her large group and her own knowledge, Natasha was able to able to complete the mission before everyone else. Not only that but the sorting was done perfectly and without any mistakes. Natasha was really a very talented individual and the city would be in safe hands with her taking over it as the new City lord. Elena was sure of that.

After Natasha, a few more teams also submitted their works to earn extra points for being quick but their works were filled with mistakes so they actually failed the mission. It was fine if they took some extra time to finish the work. But making mistake in sorting out important documents was unforgivable.

Elena was a bit disappointed with Ullar's performance during this round. At first he did try to teach his subordinates about the documents but his subordinates were not very enthusiastic about this. And after some time, instead of making them to understand the importance of that knowledge, Ullar decided to give up on them and started doing the sorting all by himself.

He finished the mission extremely late as he was doing everything alone but at least his work had no flaws. But giving up on his own subordinates like this was not a good thing for a lord. So Ullar got a minus point in the overseer's books for this, even though he had perfectly finished his mission.

And as for Cavvel, he not only worked with all his subordinates hand in hand, he managed to teach those subordinates of his about documents quite a bit. When they made any mistakes, he supported them and taught them again so that they would not make the same mistake again. This was a praiseworthy performance and even with only seven people, Cavvel's team was among the top few teams who had managed to finish the work in a short amount of time and with no flaws.

So just like that, the selection trial was reaching it's climax.
