So he quickly arranged a meeting room and brought both of the S rankers from the opposite side there. Then he invited Alessia and the other members of the Azure Legion. If they had any questions they could ask the two defeated S rankers. Mercus had already collected the stone tablet from the Cross of Ferocity's warehouse and had handed it over to Alessia.

Shia and Nina checked it had found that the description given by the quest giver completely matched this item. So their was no doubt that this stone tablet was definitely what they were searching for. With her expertise, Shia had also managed to found some clues that indicated that this item was something that was created by a human artisan and not a demonic one.

With the stone tablet in their hands now, Alessia was very relaxed. She was not really interested in knowing more about it but not everyone in her team was like her. Shia was quite interested in knowing the history of the stone tablet and Nina was also interested in it as it was stolen during the time of the human demon war.

So to fulfill their friends' curiosity, even though Alessia and Marina were not interested in it, they also visited the meeting room. Other than them the last person to join them was obviously Elena. As the cursed sword demon had no idea about even the existence of that man, the supreme protector had to answer this. He did not hide anything and told the ladies about his encounter with this man. It turned out that Aktao was the one who had came to him first with a proposition to work together.

Even with a city lord who was easily to get along with, after the devestation that the Cross of Ferocity had suffered, the Supreme Protector had no intention to become active anytime soon. In their heyday, the Cross of Ferocity had four S rank powerhouses, each representing one point of a cross mark. But now, they only had two S rankers left.

Other than the Supreme Protector, the Cursed sword demon was actually quite weak for a S ranker. This surprised Mercus and he interrupted the Supreme Protector between his speech. According to Mercus' judgement, even though the Cursed Sword demon was slightly weaker than himself, his strength was not much different from himself or the supreme protector. So Mercus was very surprised that the Supreme Protector called him weak for a S ranker as that was definitely not the case.

Hearing this objection, the supreme protector sighed and told them that Mercus had a special ability that allowed him to recover from curse related injuries extremely quickly. That was the reason why he was using so many cursed item which was extremely dangerous.

So his strong state was actually just an illusion that the Cursed Sword Demon maintained while straining his body with many curses. But this was not a very sustainable way of fighting as he could not always maintain this state and he also needed to rest for a long period of time after each battle. That was the reason why he only appeared when the Cross of Ferocity was in grave danger.

There were also many ways to get rid of his boosts and without them this man would really be too weak for the S ranks. So for all this reason, the supreme protector had no plans to suddenly become active. But the legendary powerhouse who secretly came to meet him wanted to use his organisation to break the seal of the blood pool and to release the baleful aura of that place to the outside world.
