The mist dragon had pure white scales and it's body was releasing white mist. Currently it was sleeping soundly on the ground. But even in this inactive state, the aura of power it was emanating was sending chills down Alessia's spine.
Alessia had faced many powerful beasts and monsters before. As an A ranker, she had even fought a S rank monster. But even then she had not felt this weak. This mist dragon was without a doubt the strongest foe that she had ever came across.
Alessia was not sure what she should do. She did not want to fight this monster if possible but she had no idea when the rotation of boss would happen and she only had a limited amount of time to reach the 11th floor of the dungeon.
While Alessia was getting overheated and unsure about what she should do, Shia put her hand on her shoulder and told her -
"Al, calm down. We need to think carefully before making a decision. First, let's fall back. This location is not too far away from the dragon and is dangerous."
After listening to Shia, Alessia came back to her senses. After thinking carefully, she realised that there was no reason for her to worry about coming to a decision right at this moment. They still had some time in hand. So they should first retreat and then they could have a calm discussion to come to a decision.
After thinking this, Alessia smiled at Shia gratefully and ordered her team to retreat. Then without wasting any time, they immediately retreated back to their base. Now that they had managed to find the location of the stairs at least, they do not need to explore more areas for the time being.
After calmly sitting down in the safety of their base, Alessia asked her friends for their opinion. The first one to speak up was Marina. Normally even in a very dangerous situation she would have a brilliant smile on her face. But at the current time, she was looking gloomy with a frown on her face.
"Al, this is the first time I have felt this feeling of absolute powerlessness. Most probably because my intuition had gotten even stronger. But as soon as saw the dragon, by brain almost exploded with a sense of insane danger. I had the clear feelings that if that Mist Dragon noticed us, we will immediately die. So, I will say to not face it and wait for the boss rotation to happen."
What Marina said was a little out of her character but all the ladies perfectly understood what she was feeling. That mist dragon was truly too terrifying. Next Shia spoke up.
"I also think we should not fight it. From what the adventurers from the Raven Hunters had told us, except for the Oni boss of the 35th floor, this Mist Dragon is one of the strongest of this whole dungeon. It is definitely the strongest monster that could appear between the 1st and 15th floor."
Saying this much Shia stopped for a little bit and allowed her friends to gather their thoughts and continued.
"Even though this dragon is not technically a legendary grade Monster, it could actually defeat monsters of that rank. The reason why big sis Elena had only asked us to reach the 11th floor is because she knew that even Al does not have the strength to take on a legendary grade monster. So I don't think there is any reason to take this big of a risk."
As soon as Shia stopped talking, Nina spoke up -
"We are already in the ninth foor and we just need to cross one more floor after this. We already know about the last boss the 10th floor. Even though it is powerful, we have a decent chance to defeat it as it had clear weaknesses.
I am confident that with Marina's intuition, we will be able to find the stairs to the eleventh floor without spending much time. So I believe we should just wait for the rotation for the time being. If we are lucky, this might not take much time."
What her friends were saying made perfect sense and Alessia could find no reason to object. So she also decided to wait for the rotation for the time being.
...
While resting in the base camp that they had created, they continued to explore the floor while making sure the avoid the area where the dragon was. They were not completely avoiding it and instead Nina was using her stealth technique to check on it every now and then.
This way, almost a week went by and the boss rotation did not happen even now. Now, the Azure Legion had very little time left and it did not look like they would be able to reach even the 10th floor.
During this time, with Nina's excellent scouting, they had managed to explore a decent portion of the ninth floor.
The misty forest was also a very resource rich area, so this exploration had been extremely beneficial for the ladies. The amount of rare items and ingredients that they had managed to find was insane. But none of them were happy about this outcome.
How could they be happy. It was not almost certain that they would not be able to fulfil Elena's mission now. That made all the ladies sad and angry. But still the dragon was still present and the ladies had no way to advance forward.
...
Just like that time passed and soon it was the last day of the deadline. If everything was alright, Elena should be taking them out of the dungeon in an hour or two. The ladies were sad and depressed but with the presence of the Mist Dragon, they were stuck.
Alessia was not happy and her mind was in a turmoil. Just when there was only a few minutes left before the time limit was up, she suddenly stood up. Then she told to her friends -
"The thought of silently leaving the dungeon without doing anything to the dragon is extremely irritating. I will really feel a lot of regret if I just leave the dungeon without taking any action against that dragon."
Saying so, without waiting for her friends' reply, Alessia immediately started to run toward the location of the stairs. Nina, Shia and Marina were surprised for a moment and were not sure what they should do. But then they came back to their senses and immediately followed behind Alessia.
While running toward the dragon, Alessia started to prepare her strongest possible stroke, the Sixth move of the Determination of a Fallen Royalty, which she could barely release while completely destroying her own body.
As Alessia was not hiding her presence and was releasing a lot of aura, the Mist Dragon immediately noticed her and strike at her with one of its claws. Alessia met the attack head on and her body almost turned into blood mist as soon as the contact happened. But a pure white light covered her and she disappeared from the dungeon. The same thing happened with all the other ladies of the Azure Legion.
But before Alessia disappeared, she noticed that her strike had managed to cut off one of the claws of the massive Mist Dragon. So even when she was disappearing she had a slight smile on her face.
