"I Decline."

The busy throne room suddenly became silent after hearing her reply. The king also sighed. It looked like he expected this answer from her. But still he asked again -

"Is there no way for you to accept?"

This time Elena didn't think for much time and said -

"Hmm, I'll definitely not accept being a full time headmaster, but if it's for a short amount of time and you give me free reign to develop the academy in any way I want, then I will accept it."

The king thought for sometime but he was a decisive person and soon declared-

"Alright, I accept your terms. Please help us make the academy a better place."

With a soft smile Elena nodded and thus she became the temporary headmaster of the royal academy.

The hall was in an uproar once again. This time a lot of the nobles opposed the king's decision. They could tolerate an adventurer becoming the headmaster as it would just be a position without much authority. But Elena was given permission to do whatever she wanted in the academy and that would affect the nobles a lot as all their heirs were part of the academy.

Not only that but a lot of nobles choose their retainers mostly from the academy for both knights and officials positions. Other than that many families who were known for their expertise in magic and martial fields depended on the academy a lot. So, it was impossible for them to allow someone to have so much control over the academy.

Elena didn't bother with the objecting nobles and left the job of pacifying them to the king. Even if he couldn't do that, it would still not be a problem for Elena. So she just went to the seat she was given in the room for this occasion and sat there without doing anything to even justify herself as the headmaster. This behaviour pissed some of the nobles off whose benefits would be impacted by this.

After hearing the king asking her to become the new headmaster, her instantaneous thoughts were of rejection. She couldn't limit herself staying in the capital or even in only this nation. But then she thought of Shuri who would also start her lessons in the academy very soon. She at least planned on staying in the capital for the amount of time Shuri would need to get used to her academy life.

That was why she thought she wouldn't mind taking the role if they could accept some of her demands and she could leave the post anytime she wanted. Obviously it didn't mean Elena was irresponsible. She would still do the job of a headmaster very seriously for as long as she would be in charge.

As Elena was thinking about all these things, she saw a noble pointing his fingers at her and shouting -

"Just look at this girl, even tho she might be beautiful and might even have the strength of a S ranker, but that doesn't make her a good instructor. The post of the headmaster is a secret and important position. It definitely shouldn't belong to someone like her."

Another chubby noble spoke up -

"Indeed, what Damian-dono said is very true. If she had only the authority equivalent to a headmaster that with her strength it would not be a problem. But to be able to modify the academy's system any way she wants. That ridiculous. Someone like her shouldn't have that ability."

"Not only that but your majesty, just look at her insolent attitude. She didn't even say anything after accepting the prestigious role of the headmaster and even rejected it too. And she even dared to give conditions to the king. That's outrageous. It can't be allowed."

Elena thought that if he had to be honest what they said made complete sense. If she was a normal person that is. But she wasn't a normal person. She again thought hard about the advantages she could give to Shuri and then the current trouble. Her thought process reached the conclusion that it was not worth it. Even if she still became headmaster actually headmistress of the academy like this, there was a high chance that after she left then these nobles might cause trouble for Shuri.

Thinking this just as she was going to say that she doesn't mind if one of them took this post the king suddenly shouted -

"I had already made a decision. How dare you refute me."

His outblast made everyone stunned and they stopped the argument. Seeing Elena's face and guessing that she might reject the position the king Victor cursed the nobles in his mind and after swallowing his pride he told -

"You don't need to bother yourself about these fools. As long as I'm on the throne no trouble will come your way."

She wasn't really much worried about Shuri's safety and thought that it would be irritating. So after the king requested her again and reading his mind and seeing him swallowing his pride like this she accepted his request and didn't rejected the post. She felt that she had become a little indecisive. She understood that the reason behind it was probably the lack of tension in her life.

It's not like she wasn't enjoying her comfy time but Elena always had a mindset of getting stronger. She didn't mind if her progress was slow but it must be steady. So, after experiencing that she was getting somewhat sloppy, she thought she must find a way to train a bit more seriously.

After that there was not much disturbance. Leaving the throne room Elena was sent to a lavish dining room to have dinner with the royal family. After entering the room the first thing she saw was a cute little girl looking at her with stars in her eyes and a sexy older woman also looking at her with stars in her eyes too. There was a boy of about 18 who was also looking at her with a lovestruck look. A somewhat older gentleman was also there who was the only one not looking at Elena in a weird way.

After the king entered the room, he introduced them to Elena. The cute little girl was the king's only granddaughter, princess Lisa. And the older gentleman and the sexy older lady were the son and daughter in law of the king Zenofelda Estatet and Carmela Rosella Estatet. And the lovestruck boy was the crown prince, Noah Estatet who had the qualification to take the next trial to become a king.

Carmela was very fond of female knights and she always wanted to become one. That was why she instantly became a fan of Elena who was like an idol to her. The little princess was just awestruck by a valiant and gentle older sister. As for Noah, he had never seen anyone as beautiful as Elena in his whole 18 years of life. That was why, even tho he was a exceptional individual in his own rights, he still became stunned after seeing Elena.

While eating the best dishes made by the best chefs Elena heard the story of this kingdom's founding and more details about how the academy works. The crown prince was quite shy and was not able to have a proper conversation with Elena. Zenofelda was a very intelligent person and Elena really had a fruitful conversation with him about different topics. Even tho the audience was quite hectic, Elena was still very satisfied with the dinner afterwards.

So after that she went back to her house. She was going to have a good night sleep to get ready for the next day when she would visit the academy and also to plan a new and improved training schedule.
