The next day, Elena went to the academy for the first time. She would officially join the academy next week, so she wanted to do a little observation before that. She also took Vista and Shuri with her. Shuri was trying to enter the college next semester so she was quite excited about it.

Normally one needed to study for 8 years from the age of 10 to 18 but there were also special situations where one could graduate early if they were talented enough. Most of the children from the noble families graduate early at the age of 16 or so.

This was just the basic academy. One could also keep on learning even after they graduated from the basic academy but this time they would enter the high academy. One didn't have any specific period for the high academy. If your results are satisfactory to your teachers or you had learned whatever you wanted then you could ask the headmaster for graduation.

It was quite a simple system. Today Elena was going to check how the teachers were teaching and how the environment of the academy was. As they got close to the academy they could see a large gate in front. It was the entrance of the academy. As Elena neared the gate, they opened and Ele and another teacher came out from the academy.

The man introduced himself as Vosk and he was a teacher from the political dependent of the work division. They were the ones who would accompany Elena in her visit to the academy.

First they went to visit the schooling building of the work division. It was just a normal building where quite a lot of students were busy with their studies.

Most of the common people didn't have the ability to use mana or aura. For those types of people becoming a warrior or a mage was almost impossible. This building was dedicated to their studies. It might look like a person without the ability to use mana or aura had less chance of success but that was wrong. If you study hard enough here and show good results, after graduation you could become a retainer for a noble family or even the royal family might hire you.

This obviously created a trend where the battle division always liked to belittle the work division.

The area of the battle division was also larger than the work division even tho the work division had more students in it. The dorms for both divisions were also different and battle division students' dorms had better conditions. Dicovolve probably created this system to increase the allure of the battle division but Elena didn't like it. She thought she had to change a lot of things.

Even if we forget the problem between the battle and the work division, the battle division had factions inside it. The nobles always acted high and mighty here and the commoners who got the chance to study here with their talent and hard work were most of the time bullied.

But the commoner students who enrolled here were mostly geniuses and they obviously didn't like this fact. So to oppose the bullying from the noble, they created something like a small organisation. For the students of the battle division, strength was everything. If you're strong even the nobles would not be able to do anything to you. The ability of the teachers and the quality of the teaching materials were actually quite good and Elena didn't have any complaints about it. She was quite happy that she wouldn't need to change the teaching staff in the near future. The equipment of the academy also had a high quality so that was another good thing for her.

As she was taking notes about the things she had to change, Shuri ran up to her and said with a very big smile -

"Big sister Elena, this place is so amazing. They had so many books on magic too. Will I really be able to study here?"
