After a peaceful and relaxing rest in her mini world, Elena again continued her journey. This time, she did not stop anywhere and continue her journey non stop. So very soon, she find herself in a very special city called the Yanchon city.
The Yanchon city was the last place located close to the gates of Valhalla where a large population lived. The average power level of this city was exceptionally high with more than 20 S rank powerhouses living here regularly.
This city did not belonged to any one person or nation and was managed jointly by a group of people who had created something like a city council. Every people living in this city were a part of this council and had the right to vote. That was how this city was ran.
This process of governance was created by a group of Demigods who were the founder of this city. The gates to Valhalla was located in the "Wasteland of Giants" or the "Ikrovi Wasteland". And many powerful adventurer entered that place as a trial for themselves. As the only livable location so to the wasteland, this city of Yanchon became a place for them to gather and that's how this place became one of the strongest cities of the demon continent.
As for Elena's final destination, it was the centre of the Ikrovi Wasteland. That was where the Gates of Valhalla was located. The Ikrovi Wasteland was divided into five parts and most adventurers were only limited to traverse two of them.
The outermost area of the Ikrovi Wasteland was called Extra Ring. This part was barely a part of the wasteland and the monsters and beasts found here were not that strong. The strongest beasts and monsters present in this area were the the ones who had lost in some kind of struggle in the main wasteland and had ran away from there.
After the extra ring, the next area was called the Outer Ring. This part was definitely a part of the Ikrovi Wasteland and the monsters and beasts living here were quite powerful. S rank monsters were not uncommon and A rank ones could be found everywhere. Only a few experienced adventurers were able to traverse this area. Having a S ranker with them was also important as without that, the chance of survival for any A rank of lower powerhouse would be close to zero.
After the outer ring, one would enter the Inner Ring. The Inner Ring area was filled with S rank monsters everywhere. Only legendary powerhouses were capable of going to this area. Even then, they would have to risk their lives. But as this area had a lot of S rank and higher monsters, many battle hungry people entered it every year to level up. Many died but many also came back with greater strength.
Then after the inner ring there was the deep ring. This area was covered by a barrier and only the demigods and people who were above level 393 were able to enter it. So the knowledge about what was beyond the barrier was very limited. But after so many years, some rumours had spread about what was behind the barrier. But no one was able to verify them.
According to those rumours, the area behind the barrier had a city. But everything in this city was 10 times larger than normal. This city was inhabited by the giants, who were also the guardian of the Gates of Valhalla.
The Ikrovi Wasteland was named the Wasteland of Giants because of these rumours. Having a guardian for the Gates to a higher realm was very well known but most people were still not sure if it was really the giants who were responsible for this.
There were some conflicting information about this matter. About 70 percent of the claims said that Giants were the guardians but the other 30 percent had mentioned powerful beasts and dragons as the guardian. But as there were very few people who were capable of entering the barrier, the truth about this matter was not well known.
...
Elena entered the city and found it to not be any different from a regular city. Except for the fact that most of the shops were related to adventuring and fighting. But even this was not an uncommon sight in many cities that were located near a dungeon and were mostly for the adventurers.
While trying to find an inn to stay, Elena bought some food in the food stalls. There she noticed that the price of food here was quite expensive. Obviously Elena had no problems with it but a regular person would find these prices to be outrageous.
But this was not without reason. This place was not suitable to grow crops but the extra ring had a lot of wild vegetables. But getting those vegetables was not easy and needed the assistance of an A rank adventurer. Not only that but most of the meat that could be found in the city were from B and A rank monsters and beasts. So obviously they had sky high prices. Actually if anyone wanted to eat meat of this quality in another city, they would have to pay way more than the price that was charged in this city.
After eating a little, Elena found herself in front of an inn. As this city was ruled by a council that always changed and had nothing above it, having proper property rights was very difficult. So most of the time, in pure demonic fashion, strength became the main indicator of someone's capability to have an area of the city under their names. That was the reason why most areas of the city actually belonged to the top S rank powerhouses and the other citizens were basically renting them.
Inns on the other hand was a profitable business and it was not lended to anyone. The S rankers themselves took the management of the inn as this was an easy way to earn money in this city. So the inn that Elena was currently planning to enter also belonged to a S rank powerhouse.
Elena had gathered some information about various inns of the city while buying her foods and this inn was recommended by everyone when she told them that she did not care about the money. According to them, this inn had the best rooms, the best foods, the best services, the best bath and more. But the only problem it had was the price of the rooms. All the inns in this city were expensive but this place was 12 to 15 times more expansive than those places. So even most of the rich people could not afford this place.
After entering the inn, Elena found herself in the middle of a well decorated lobby. Then she was greeted by a very cute looking and well dressed receptionist lady who asked Elena if she wanted to stay here.
When Elena nodded her head in affirmation, the lady gave her an information brochure where the prices of the rooms were listed. The services provided by the inn was also mentioned there. The lady then smiled gently at Elena and asked her to choose one of the rooms. She behaved perfectly well but Elena was able to see that the lady was expecting her to walk away after seeing the prices.
This gave Elena a sudden urge to become an arrogant young lady again. So after taking the brochure, she just took a casual glance at it and then with an arrogant expression on her beautiful face, she said -
"The Supreme Suite."
Hearing this, even the well trained receptionist had her jaws on the floor. That was because the supreme suite was the most expensive room of their inn and no one had ever booked one during her time working here. There were rumours that many years ago, demigods going to the gates of Valhalla had lived in the Supreme suite.
As the receptionist was not sure about what to do, suddenly the pleasant voice of a woman was heard.
"Oh my, miss must be extremely rich to have the capability to book the supreme suite. It's such a pleasant surprise."
Hearing the woman's voice, the face of the receptionist lit up and she shouted -
"Owner."
So who was this owner lady ?
