After Elena told Lambra about what she had managed to find out, his expression became grave and filled with anger. He had a frown on his face and he told Elena that only the people from the Diabolus race might have this kind of bizzare abilities.

But the king of the Diabolus was quite powerful and going to complain to him would be useless. But even if they got rid of the parasites for now, without knowing how the parasites were planted in the body of those people and without a way to prevent that, this problem would not be solved.

Seeing the worried Lambra, Elena smiled slightly and gave him a proposal. Elena asked him to allow her to see the receipes that the giants had developed for all these years and in exchange she would take care of this problem. She would find the culprit and would bring him before Lambra.

Hearing the proposal, Lambra laughed out loud and agreed. Many other races might treat their receipes as secret items but that was not the case for the giants. Even the regular giants were allowed to study the recipes as that might led to the creation of even better dishes. So Elena was basically doing this favour to him for free.

Lambra was a schemer but he was not an ungrateful person. So he decided to prepare even better quality foods for Elena which would be using various legendary ingredients. He also decided to tell the old fossils of the temple of hurry up with her trial preparations. All those people were in their absolute best condition physically and mentally but they liked to act like old men. So they did everything very slowly.

After making the deal with Lambra, Elena left the royal castle and started her investigation. First she secretly teleported all the parasites out of the infected people's bodies and collected them without killing them. Then she also started checking the regular citizens.

There was no guarantee that the members of the royal family were not the only ones who were affected by these disgusting parasites. Many regular giants had also suddenly became lazy. There was a possibility that they were just actually lazy but from what Elena saw, the chance of that being true was extremely low.

Just as she expected, after going through the whole population of the giants, Elena found many more infected people. The actual number was over a thousand people. Almost 95 percent of the so called lazy people were affected by this and Elena also found several more giants who had gotten this parasite very recently and had not started to show the symptoms. If Elena had not noticed it, even lf the giants would not have lost their dominance completely, they would definitely be severely weakend by this plot.

After collecting more than thousand of these parasites, she started to investigate how these things managed to enter the body of the infected people. She did not use her broken abilities to find out the reason as that would be extremely boring for Elena. So she wanted to see if she was capable of solving this problem with her brain and not her brawn.

These parasites were able to cover itself with the aura of the host. That was the reason why without very thorough search, it was hard to find them. As for what they did to the host, it was very hidden but effective. They did not just created a single problem in the body of the host but three.

Firstly, they would start devouring some amount of the giant's energy. As the giants were very energy hungry individuals, they would start to feel tired with this loss. So they would want to sleep for longer amount of time to save as much energy as they could and would start eating more.

The second thing that the parasites did was connected to the first one. As the giants slept more and eat more, the parasite would start to use a skill to introduce two sins related to those actions. Those two sins in question were Gluttony and Sloth. So with more time, the giants would lose all their motivation to work hard and would start to indulge themselves in food.

Elena herself was fond of the sin of gluttony. She could proudly announce that she had this sin. But it could be used in a twisted way by evil people which made Elena very upset. So she decided to give the culprit behind this a little bit of extra beating for making her displeased.

As for its third effect, the parasite also released a special type of toxin in slight amounts that could effect the brain and made it sluggish. The giants were already not a race well known for their intelligence to begin with, so the effect of this toxin on them was even more severe.

But these effects had a limitation. It could only effect people who were under the legendary rank. Anyone who is above level 350 could resist the effect of this parasite and it was absolutely useless against a demigod. As the person who was the source of these parasites was definitely a demigod, this ability was absolutely an useless one as it could only be used to bully weaker individuals.

After thoroughly investigating the parasites, Elena guessed that these things could not enter the body of the giants in the parasite form. Without being inside the body, they had a very distinctive presence. So from this Elena guessed that they had entered the body as the form of a small insignificant egg and had hatched inside. Then it had travelled by itself to the heart of the person and had made its nest.

As for how the eggs got inside, that could be by any means. Food, breathing, water everything was a possibility. As the giants were extremely large, it was very simple for something as small as an egg to enter their body. So the method of how it infected the giants was not enough to find the culprit.

But that did not mean Elena had no other way. This was a world of skill and magic so there were various spells that could be useful for this investigation. As these skills were magic itself, without using magical means, it was almost impossible to find anything about them. So she cast a spell called "Flame of Retribution" on some of the parasites. This was a special spell that could hurt the true owner if it was used on a body part of that person. Elena guessed that these parasites were something like the body parts of the culprit, so she tried this spell.

But it turned out to be not effective. It looked like these parasites were created through a skill and was not considered to be the part of the skill user anymore. But Elena did not mind this failed experiment. She had many more spells to try and she got ready to do just that.

Would Elena be able to find the culprit in her restricted state or she had to use her broken skill at last ? It depended on how well the user of the skill had managed to hide themselves.
