Restart: The World Savior's New Beginning

Chapter 85: Ch 85: Shuri's new Friend and her Performance

Shuri was a little bit nervous when she entered the large training ground for the second phase of the test. She had already given the written exam for which she had practiced a lot and she was happy with performance in the written exam. But for the students of the battle division the combat exam was more important than the written one so Shuri was determined to do her very best for this exam too.

After looking around her, she was able to see quite a few participants who were the same age as her. She looked kinda younger than her actual age so the participants looked older than her. As she was looking around while going toward the test spot a boy bumped into her. As Shuri was kinda distracted looking around she apologised to the boy quickly. But that boy shouted back at her -

"You dirty mongrel. How dare you bump into me? Do you have any idea who I am?"

Shuri was kinda startled as she didn't think that it was a big deal so the boy's shouting took her by surprise and she stuttered a little bit -

"I-i am sorry. I didn't mean to. I was just a bit distracted. And you didn't even fall or anything, so it was not a big deal, right?"

"What impudence. You bumped into me, Gallelio Fragtisagna, the heir of a renowned marquis house and you think it is not a big deal. What do you mean by I didn't fall? Do you want me to fall? A trash like you touching me is a great offence."

Shuri was getting a little bit irritated hearing the boy speaking in such a haughty manner. As she lived with top class existences like Elena and Vista who were not someone to take insults silently Shuri was also getting some of their attitudes but still it's not been long since she started living with them and before that she was just a little kid from a backwater village. So nobles were still a very big existence in her eyes, so she tried her best to keep the irritation down and didn't do anything.

Seeing Shuri was just silent and was not replying at all Gallelio got even angrier and tried to hold Shuri's hand. That was too much for the little girl and she was just about to summon a creature to protect herself another had grabbed Gallelio's hand and pushed it back. Looking to the side Shuri saw a beautiful red haired little girl. She looked to be about 12-13 years old. Her hazel coloured eyes were filled with anger. She told Gallelio with an angry tone -

"What do you think you're doing, Gallelio? How dare you try to pick on a girl like that. Do you want me to tell uncle about your behaviour."

"Hmph, father will be able to do nothing even if you tell him. Mother will always support me."

Even tho he said those words he still backed away from the girl and went toward a test spot. Seeing that Shuri heaved a sigh of relief as she didn't need to hurt someone just now. Then she faced the redhead and thanked her -

"I'm Shuri. Thank you very much for your help. I really appreciate it."

"Fufu, no need to take me. That was my duty as the only daughter of the brave Baldwin family. Nice to meet you Shuri. I'm Roselotte Baldwin. You can call me Rose."

And that's how a new friendship was born.

...

As Shuri waited in the like for her turn for the test, she was observing other students' performances. Some of them used elementary sword arts to attack the board and some used various beginner elemental magic spells. Most of the students scored between 30-70 points and only a few were able to score over 100. The best participant so far was a boy with curly brown hair who was able to score an impressive 578 by using a secret sword art of his family.

That was the case for the test spot where Shuri was waiting. Other spots also had quite a few strong candidates. The candidate who was able to perform the best so far had an outstanding score of 813 points. Shuri didn't know who this person was but she was still very impressed. As she was thinking this Rose spoke up from her front -

"That brown haired by is the young prodigy of the Claus family, Issei Claus. He had an exceptional talent for swordsmanship and he was able to master a part of the secret sword art of the Claus family."

"Ohh"

That was the only reaction Shuri gave. Rose thought she would be a bit more excited hearing about someone as cool as Issei Claus, but her lackluster expression was proof that she didn't find him cool at all.

Soon it was Rose's turn to take the test. Since her childhood, she was well known in the noble circle for her impressive talent with fire magic. She even had a special inherent skill about fire magic that had turned her hair red. At first she thought of using magic that would just bare minimum for her to qualify. But now, she wanted to impress her new friend so she went all out with her fire magic.

"Flame from the everlasting sun, burn with more intensity, become stronger, turn everything into cinders and show everyone your ferocity; Scorching Flameshower."

Several light yellowish flames appeared and fell on the board like rain. The temperature of the flames was so high that even Shuri, who was far away from Rose could feel the heat. After a few minutes the flames finally died down and a score appeared above the board.

"895" someone muttered.

Yes that was the score Rose got. Right now she was the person with the highest score so far. After a few moments the students started cheering for Rose loudly. As soon as she returned Shuri hugged and congratulated her. She was very happy and excited to see her friend performing so well. Next it was her turn and she was determined to give it her all.

As soon as Shuri reached in front of the board she took a deep breath. She got a special job class from Elena called {Contractual Summoner} and she also gave her an initial summon who was quite strong. But this job was not about just summoning something and letting it fight for you.

Contractual Summoner job let the person who had this job to make a contract with a being with higher strength and the summoner had to sacrifice something to call upon its help. The first time when she used this job skill to complete her revenge, Elena had made the needed sacrifice for Shuri so she didn't have to do anything other than ordering the summon to kill the monsters.

But normally, Shuri had to sacrifice something of her own to be able to call her summons. Not only that but the amount of sacrifice would control the strength of the summons too. If she had made a big sacrifice the strength of the summon would be stronger. And for small sacrifice the strength of the summon would be low. She could even sacrifice money but the amount she would need to get anything useful by sacrificing it was huge. So the most common thing to sacrifice was mana but still what she could summon without losing mana permanently wasn't very strong. But Shuri had an even better substitute for mana. And she could even summon a very strong being by sacrificing it. And that substitute was Shuri's life force.

Because of the circumstances during her birth, she had an insane amount of life force which could even recover over time. So using life force was definitely the best choice for Shuri and that was also the reason why Elena gave Shuri this job instead of other ones.

Shuri sacrificed the highest amount of life force she could for now and summoned the strongest creature she had in her arsenal.

{Summon: Magestro}

A creature completely clad in white flame and lightning appeared and she ordered it to use its strongest attack. The creature raised its hand and a ball of white flame appeared which then got covered with lightning. And then he threw it toward the board and a huge explosion happened. A number appeared on the screen above the board. And that number was -
