Chapter 0281: Headquarters

If word of this got out, it would undoubtedly cause a massive uproar. Meanwhile, Chen Fei had been taken by Xiao Beiye and his men to the Provincial Military Region's Security Bureau, where he was locked in a special interrogation room.

"Go on in."

After locking Chen Fei in the special interrogation room, Xiao Beiye hesitated for a moment before finally leaning close to Chen Fei's ear and whispering, "I have no personal grudge against you. Today, I'm simply following orders. Don't blame me."

Hearing this, Chen Fei gave him a look of surprise and then nodded slightly. His eyes, as dark and clear as polished onyx, flashed with a sharp light. "Every grievance has a perpetrator. Since there's no grievance between us, there's naturally no one to blame."

"Thank you. I'll be on my way." Xiao Beiye brushed past him and left the special interrogation room.

Chen Fei was left all alone.

Provincial Military Region's Security Bureau, Xiao Qianrang?

Chen Fei paced back and forth in the special interrogation room. He noted that besides a single, faint light source, there was nothing else; the surroundings were shrouded in darkness. The walls seemed to be forged from some kind of special metal and were frighteningly hard.

Even for someone like him, breaking through them would likely require a great deal of effort. He couldn't help but murmur coldly, "They certainly went to a lot of trouble."

CLICK!

Just then, an intense beam of light shot down from diagonally above. Dressed in a special uniform, Xiao Qianrang stood high above with a sneer, behind a massive glass wall. His cold laughter then echoed throughout the interrogation room from all directions. "Chen Fei, we meet again, hmm?"

At this moment, he stood arrogantly high above the interrogation room. He seemed to believe he had complete control of the situation, looking down on Chen Fei with the taunting, disdainful gaze of a hunter who has captured his prey.

Remember what I said before? That you, Chen Fei, had better not regret this? How dare you oppose me, Xiao Qianrang. You truly overestimate your own strength!

"...Xiao Qianrang, is that you?"

As the intense light assaulted his eyes, Chen Fei's expression sank, and his dark eyes took on a sudden, chilling glint. Such tactics were extremely humiliating. In all his life, when had he, Chen Fei, ever suffered such an insult?

His gaze turned icy cold the moment Xiao Qianrang appeared, his focus locking onto him. Naked coldness and anger rose in his eyes, and a faint, cold smile touched his lips, "President Xiao, I really didn't expect this. What a brilliant move."

"Of course. Are you scared now?"

Hearing this, Xiao Qianrang looked down from his high perch, appearing quite proud. He shook his head slowly at Chen Fei and said, "You should have known better. If you weren't so reckless and knew your place, you wouldn't be in this mess today."

"Scared?"

The corners of Chen Fei's mouth curled up. It was as if not even the dazzling light could shake his resolute will. He clenched his fists slightly and shook his head in disdain. "Honestly, who do you think you are? Do you really think you're worthy of making me, Chen Fei, afraid?"

"What did you say!?"

BANG!

Xiao Qianrang's furious voice erupted from all around the interrogation room, as if he had been grievously insulted by this young man in his twenties.

Something was slammed heavily onto the floor, shattering into pieces and making a jarring noise in the tense atmosphere.

"You little brat, I suggest you get a clear grasp of your situation! You have fallen into my hands, Xiao Qianrang's hands! Believe it or not, even if you were to vanish from the face of the earth today, no one would dare to make a scene here! This is the Bureau. And the Bureau has that power!"

From his high vantage point, Xiao Qianrang's face was now menacing. He stared down at the coldly smirking Chen Fei in the interrogation room, his emotions running high.

In his mind, things had already gone this far. The opponent had been brought to the Military Region's Bureau and locked up. By all rights, shouldn't he be bowing his head to Xiao Qianrang by now?

Yet, that damned kid still wore that irritating, mocking expression. His face didn't show the slightest hint of fear or dread. In fact, his look seemed to be a brazen mockery of Xiao Qianrang himself.

This made him feel like a complete clown! How could he not be furious?
