Chapter 0282: Unconditional Obedience?

"Vanish from the face of the earth?"

However, upon hearing Xiao Qianrang's furious voice, Chen Fei merely smiled faintly. A hint of disdain flashed in his eyes, which were as black and clear as glass. "You?" he said. "Sorry, but I really don't believe you have that kind of power. Why don't you give it a try instead of just running your mouth?"

"You bastard, you're courting death!" Hearing the disdain and mockery in Chen Fei's voice, the condescending Xiao Qianrang became enraged.

"Heh. Young man, it's not good to be so aggressive."

Just then, a hoarse, elderly voice sounded out, and a decrepit old man appeared above in Chen Fei's line of sight.

He looked to be in his eighties or nineties, with white hair, withered skin, and hands as thin as chicken claws. His eyes, however, held an inexplicable and unfathomable danger. He appeared slowly, his ancient face bearing a faint smile as he gazed at Chen Fei.

"Third Master."

Upon seeing the newcomer, even Xiao Qianrang couldn't help but speak respectfully.

"Third Master?" Chen Fei's eyes flickered slightly at the title.

"Allow me to introduce myself. My surname is Xiao, and my name is Xiao Nanshan. It's a pleasure, young man." The elder, whom Xiao Qianrang had called Third Master, ignored him and instead looked at Chen Fei, his voice light and his expression a faint, unreadable smile.

"Oh, a pleasure. You're the one who ordered my capture, aren't you?" Chen Fei replied, his tone flat.

"Impudent!" Hearing Chen Fei's tone, Xiao Qianrang leaped forward and snarled, his face sinister. "You little punk, do you have any idea who you're talking to? This is Elder Xiao of our Xiao Family! Show some respect!"

"Why the hell should I care? He's your elder, not mine. Isn't that right, old man?" Chen Fei shot back without the slightest hesitation, looking up to ask the question directly.

"You..." Xiao Qianrang's face flushed crimson and the veins in his neck bulged, but Xiao Nanshan silenced him with a raised hand.

"Heh. Young man, we had a perfectly valid reason for bringing you here today. Don't you think your emotions are running a little high?" Xiao Nanshan's tone was deceptively gentle, a softness that sent a chill down the spine.

But Chen Fei wasn't buying it. He simply sneered, "A valid reason? I doubt it. Since when has our great Huaxia nation stooped to the level of currying favor with people from the Island Country? How utterly disgraceful."

"Shut your mouth! Do you know who you're talking to? What is with that attitude?!" Xiao Qianrang bristled again at Chen Fei's mockery, his voice savage.

"Old man, don't you think you should quiet your dog? A dog shouldn't keep barking when its master is speaking. It seems you haven't trained him very well," Chen Fei said, narrowing his eyes.

"What did you say?!" Xiao Qianrang's face contorted with rage, turning shades of purple and red. He couldn't believe that even now, Chen Fei dared to be so insolent as to call him—Xiao Qianrang—a dog.

"Young man, your attitude has gone too far." At that moment, Xiao Nanshan spoke up again. His voice had lost its subtle, chilling gentleness, replaced by an overt, cold indifference. In a raspy tone, he said, "This entire matter began with your refusal to cooperate. Therefore, don't blame us for our methods. For the sake of the bigger picture, you'll just have to be inconvenienced."

"'For the sake of the bigger picture?'" Chen Fei mocked. "That sounds incredibly noble. I'm just curious, how exactly do you plan on 'inconveniencing' me? Are you going to tie me up and force me to treat that person from the Island Country?"

Anyone with a shred of common sense knew that treating a patient depended entirely on willingness. Besides, could they really force him? In the end, whether the treatment worked or not was entirely up to him to decide!

"This is a military assignment. You have no choice but to obey unconditionally. You will also swear a military oath in our presence. Otherwise, if the patient is not cured, you will be held responsible," Xiao Nanshan stated as if it were the most reasonable thing in the world, his old face serene.

"A military assignment? A military oath?" Hearing this, Chen Fei was so enraged that he laughed, his pupils filled with an icy coldness. He truly hadn't expected them to say something like that. What was this? They were using the organization's name just to screw with him? It was obvious this old fossil didn't care about some foreign guest from the Island Country. This was just about getting payback for what happened with Xiao Qianrang.

Realizing this, he couldn't be bothered to play games with them any longer. Narrowing his eyes, he said mockingly, "Old man, it seems that getting old really causes problems... right here." Chen Fei looked up at the elder and pointed to his own head with a smirk.

Xiao Nanshan's gaze hardened, and his expression turned grim.
