Find a Troubled Girl after leaving the Guild

Chapter 93: Ugly Armor (Part 3)

Li Ang suppressed the feelings in his chest and looked at Zoe and Dorothy, who also had complex expressions, saying, "Let's go, first retrieve the money that ALulu hid, and then I'll think of a way."

ALulu took the steps, her body appearing quite bulky due to the equipment, leading the way ahead. Her poor-quality long sword was not securely strapped and collided with the iron armor, making an unpleasant noise.

She led the three into a small alley, heading towards a pile of baskets stacked behind a house.

"You didn't just leave it here, did you?" Dorothy asked incredulously.

ALulu bent down to search, then suddenly froze.

Her hands and feet moved quicker, searching more anxiously.

The three behind exchanged glances, all actually knowing the answer.

She didn't understand how to hide valuables; such an outcome was just too normal.

But no one wanted to see this kind of "normal."

"No, no more... it's all gone..."

ALulu's voice trembled under the helmet, then turned to sobbing. Just as she was about to burst into tears, she forcibly stopped herself, as if in her past environment, even crying was not allowed.

Her petite body trembled lightly with the sobs, as if the ugly armor was her cage.

Zoe said despondently, "If you hadn't gone to the black market with us, maybe it would still be here."

"No, it's not your fault, boo..."

ALulu cried out in a hoarse, childish voice, "It's my own fault for not taking good care of it, boo hoo."

Zoe wanted to say something, but the words didn't come out. She just looked helplessly at Li Ang.

The young girl with chestnut hair could at most think of giving her own money to ALulu or suggesting to earn it back somehow. But perhaps realizing that saying so would make ALulu even sadder, she held back.

Lacking too much information, Li Ang also had no clues.

He looked at the household that placed the baskets. The house had let the baskets fall to ruin and gather dust, making it unlikely they took it.

While pondering possible suspects and methods of retrieval, his Spiritual Perception suddenly stirred.

Someone was spying; the complex Spirituality of the interloper would disturb Li Ang's perception, causing such a reaction.

Looking towards the direction of the rooftops across the street, a figure turned and left, and Li Ang immediately dashed after them: "Follow me."

Zoe leapt to catch up instantly, while the other two young girls stumbled behind.

Controlling the Wind Element's Spirituality, Li Ang didn't use the stairs, instead flying directly to the rooftop of the low building, where he saw the short spy hastily jumping to the next rooftop.

Li Ang pursued, pulling a tuft of fur from the small figure's tail.

The spy was a Beast-Earkin child, clutching a telescope as he tumbled and scrambled down to the awning of a shop below—only a child's size could be supported there.

The child understood how to escape; it was a planned route.

Li Ang, of course, could easily catch him using wind acceleration to pin him down, but he wasn't in a hurry.

Interrogation was troublesome; better to feign just missing him and see if the child could lead them to a hideout.

It would also make it easier for the three young girls to catch up.

Li Ang chased the Beast-Earkin child, parkouring over various obstacles, realizing that the kid was leading him in circles.

This further indicated he wasn't just playing around—an experienced mentor must be behind him.

Li Ang conjured a Wind Blade to shoot near the child's feet, and the scattering gravel slid down his leg, causing him to cry out in pain and collapse.

As he approached the child, Li Ang gathered the Wind Blade, indicating he was about to chop off the child's head.

"Wait."

A figure jumped down from the shadows of a second-floor balcony on the street side.

The real instigator had arrived.
