Find a Troubled Girl after leaving the Guild

Chapter 94: The Strange Andasu

The unexpected visitor was someone Li Ang knew, the Sandstorm Lioness he'd met twice before.

After her appearance, more figures emerged from the alleys. Among them was the Sandstorm Mother Tiger, along with many fierce faces.

Among them, the one faintly exuding a leader's aura was that handsome Platinum Ace he'd seen before.

This group could definitely be considered a gang.

The Platinum Ace lifted the fallen Beast-Earkin child, and Li Ang noticed they looked somewhat alike; their hair color, the color of their Beast-Ears, and the length and style of their tails were all consistent, indicating they were likely of the same tribe.

The only difference was that the child's eyes were yellow, while the Platinum Ace's had a distinct golden hue, resembling a higher-order being.

He was the first to speak, "Hello, daytime Weapon Master."

The skills assigned to Li Ang by the system were like divine skills on the Flashing Field, so it was understandable for the other to call him that.

"Weapon Master?" Dorothy and Zoe found the title somewhat odd.

The Half Elf jabbed Li Ang with her finger, "How come you can get chummy with anyone wherever you go?"

"Seriously, even with men and business associates, you describe it like that?"

"Tch, as if I couldn't tell." Dorothy muttered softly.

The Platinum Ace's gaze moved past the trio, noticing the barrel-like ALulu.

He frowned briefly, pondered for a moment, and said with a speculative tone, "Is that a member of the Horned Race? Could it be the young lady who's been continually challenging the arena?"

"Yes." ALulu replied in a soft and gentle voice.

Returning his gaze to Li Ang, the Platinum Ace said, "So the Master and this young lady are a team."

He got straight to the point, "Since you've tracked us down, it's true, the item she hid was taken by us. She was too careless; we were scrounging for food on the streets, and such a big piece of meat came along, we couldn't possibly not snatch it."

The Sandstorm Lioness was a member of this gang. After her loss, they would definitely investigate ALulu, the outsider, and finding out she was hiding something was natural.

Li Ang nodded, "Then return it to us, and I won't trouble you further."

At this moment, he wanted to cheer up ALulu, though he hadn't intended on formally recruiting her, he had unknowingly become her guardian.

Am I running a childcare group now? Li Ang sighed inwardly.

The Platinum Ace fell silent, and none of the gang members behind him spoke.

The atmosphere became somewhat tense. Li Ang chuckled, "What? Want to fight?"

As soon as he spoke, the gang members' hands reflexively moved to their weapons at their waists.

"No." The Platinum Ace halted his companions behind him.

His pale gold eyes scrutinized Li Ang, "Your Excellency is a strong individual. While we do not shy away from fights, we also wouldn't choose a path that leads to certain death.

"I will return the young lady's belongings."

The Platinum Ace extended his hand towards Li Ang, "You can call me An, let's be friends."

The system panel previously displayed his name as Andasu, so this monosyllable was a kind of nickname.

Li Ang shook his hand, feeling through the glove that the other's palm was quite slender and slightly soft.

Somewhat strange, why would the hands of a Tier Four Assassin be like this? Could it be that Mechanical Engineers, requiring agile hands, maintain them deliberately?

"But, I have one condition."

Intending to wait for the other to bring the belongings, An switched the topic.

Li Ang chuckled.

He raised his hand, stopping the Beast-Earkin youth across from him who appeared ready to speak.

"Conditions or whatever, I don't want to hear them, although you may want to speak of mutually beneficial deals or something."

Li Ang glanced at ALulu behind him, the young girl cowered slightly under his gaze.

Despite having a Paladin's desire to champion the weak, she still presented a wholly childlike demeanor when disheartened.

Now it came down to Li Ang to say what ALulu should have said.

"Make it clear: no matter how inept she is at hiding, that item belongs to her, and wasn't discarded deliberately. To take without asking is theft.

"You may have your own rules, but in front of me, they're nothing. If we need to fight, we will, but the reason is here, and don't mention any so-called 'conditions' to me."

Li Ang gripped the hilt of the Silver Heart Sword, and a Silver Blade manifested by his side, illuminating the entire alley.

An seemed as though he wanted to say something, but seeing this, both he and his people were taken aback.

His golden pupils were completely infused by the silver glow.

Li Ang drew from his waist the Hidden Poison Blade he crafted and passed it before the Silver Blade.

In the silent moment, the Tier Three High tier quality weapon was easily sliced in two.

He tossed the Broken Dagger to the ground, his expression calm, and said nothing.

An was wearing a mask, so his expression couldn't be seen, but his twitching ears, dilated pupils, and hurried breathing indicated he was anything but calm.

He recognized that Li Ang was a stronger force relative to them, but hadn't truly comprehended the gap until this point.

"Wow, he really knows how to play the hero." Dorothy was staring blankly at Li Ang's back and commented to Zoe while pulling her along.

"What do you mean playing hero, he's always been my hero." Zoe said matter-of-factly.

"Tsk tsk." Dorothy sized up the chestnut-haired girl's expression and shook her head repeatedly.

ALulu stood there motionless, not speaking. Her face was hidden behind her helmet, obscuring her state, yet it was clear she was staring directly at Li Ang.

"Could you girls keep it down?"

Li Ang looked at the two girls speechlessly; his moment of pretension was ruined within seconds by their words, collapsing the atmosphere entirely.

This sort of discussion, as if no one else was present, was a bit disrespectful. While Li Ang didn't intend to respect the gang opposite either, this was perhaps a bit too dismissive.

Standing across, the Platinum Ace placed more of his attention on Zoe and Dorothy behind Li Ang, taking quite a while to recover his senses.
