Find a Troubled Girl after leaving the Guild

Chapter 72: Friend Game

These small flowers growing wildly everywhere are the servants of the Demon-Born Flower—the Demon-Born Flower Whippers.

They are like blossoms walking with roots, but each stem is covered with sharp blades, bouncing up immediately after blooming to lash at the surrounding crowd.

Those blade-tipped stems can shred clothes into tatters with just a gentle graze, and blood splatters from the skin.

The Whippers surge across the ground, like a sea of flowers spreading out around Dorothy, but this is a bloody sea of flowers, and in an instant, the church is filled with cries and screams.

"You!" Wendes turned his head to look at Elton, who also had a bewildered and panicked expression, retreating with Count Feinat under the protection of guards.

Wendes understood this was not Elton's plot, but the stunning girl, who was supposed to become his fiancée, had ruined her own ceremony, and he felt blood rush to his forehead.

"Behaving like this, where does that leave the honor of the Feinat family! The cooperation with your family will be canceled!"

He grabbed a nearby lunging Demon-Born Flower Whipper and snapped it, then reached for Dorothy.

The flower wings behind the half-elf maiden split into several white flower vines, entwining Wendes's outstretched hand.

"You think you can stop me?!"

Though not wearing equipment, he was a warrior experienced in many high-level battles. Even if his strength mostly relied on his mount, he could use his strength alone, amplified by magic, to shatter rocks and pierce steel.

He exerted force with his elbow, trying to tear off the vines binding him.

"Ugh!"

However, the vines' toughness surprised him; when he pulled with his elbow, it tore the sleeve of his suit and the skin on his arm in an instant. The seemingly fragile vines hid numerous barbs and blades.

"How is this possible! How do you have such power? You monster!"

Wendes felt that the magic meant to amplify his attacks was absorbed by the vines.

"Don't think this is enough!"

Although at the same realm, he had two tiers of strength advantage, so Wendes still managed to break free from the vines, striking out several times, bending and scattering the attacking vines.

He turned and shouted to his family members not far away: "Where's my equipment?! I asked someone to bring it, didn't I?"

More vines stretched out from behind Dorothy, rooting into the void behind her. Amidst the faint crackling of thunder, the flower vines were nourished by magic and all regenerated.

No matter how many vines Wendes broke, they would recover once more.

"Stop kidding, only those in the Excellence Realm can pierce through dimensional membranes, why can you?!"

Though Wendes could suppress the half-elf maiden, the more he fought, the more startled he became.

"Sister!"

In the crowd, Leona flapped her wings, sparks flying everywhere, a talent given by her unknown bloodline.

Leona surveyed the surroundings, the church filled with blood. The nobles had guards or personal resilience, so these little demons wouldn't immediately kill anyone, but injured and wailing people were everywhere.

Her fiercely beating Dragon Blood Heart pumped magic power throughout her body, becoming erupting flames and scorching strikes accompanying her fists and feet.

The flames burnt away the Whippers, and the Dragon Maiden cried out to Dorothy with tears flowing,

Dorothy controlled the Demon-Born Flowers to continue growing, her pale golden hair dancing, seemingly oblivious to her junior's shouts.

Leona flapped her wings, accelerating her run, arriving at the battlefield between her sister and Wendes.

"Sister, if you don't want to get married, don't want to marry Wendes, you could tell me. Why harm others!"

Dorothy turned her face slightly, smiling calmly at Leona without explaining anything.

Her breathing gradually became rapid. She was, after all, a young lady lacking in training. Even though the Demon-Born Flowers momentarily entangled Wendes with their bloodthirsty and brutal offensive and high combat power amplification, the opponent was a physically strong warrior, and she was already wobbling, barely holding on by supporting herself on some vines split onto the ground.

Wendes also noticed this state and attacked with full force.

"Haha, looks like I don't even need equipment to take you down!"

A Wind Blade slashed through the air, accompanied by thunderous roars.

Wendes hurriedly retreated, the ground where he had stood shattered with a boom, the flying debris blocked by Dorothy's flower wings like shields. But Leona beside her was hit by numerous flying stones, the skin imbued with Dragon Blood Magic repelling the stones, leaving only a faint redness.

The person who launched the Wind Blade stood next to the servant bringing his equipment, who had already fainted on the ground.

Li Ang took his gear piece by piece from the box, putting it on, while the family members of the Feinat tried to stop him but were blown away by Wind Elemental Creations.

Li Ang brushed his hair, donning a green Magic Light Armor, he thudded a Celestial Demon Heavy Halberd to the ground, his cloak billowing, looking majestic, though the black Magic Staff on his back was slightly obtrusive.

Wendes's eyes widened with rage: "Li Ang! That's my equipment! When did you—"

"What yours? Does Rams agree?"

Li Ang clenched his hand: "Although I've tested this whole set, it's not quite fitting to use. I'm really not used to it."

Some Transcendent Realm armor would adjust itself into a more defensively strong structure through shape changes, a capacity provided by magic's shaping ability over matter.

And at the Excellence Realm, this was basically a standard feature of every piece of equipment, so it wouldn't be a poor fit for someone else.

It's just that Wendes's equipment was a set of war armor, which he wasn't quite accustomed to wearing.

"Boo hoo."

As soon as Li Ang appeared, Dorothy immediately said tearfully, "You finally came to get me."

Under the gaze of everyone, faced with her deliberate act, Li Ang could only smile.

However, this scene was completely captured by Leona.

Huh? Hasn't this man only met with the senior once? How can he do this?

His close combat profession is only at tier 2, and his current physical strength isn't enough to wield such a heavy giant weapon, but it carries skills for releasing storm magic and can be used as half a magic staff.

The halberd blade emitted a sound of wind and thunder as the Celestial Demon Hurricane rose on the spot, forming into a whirlwind lashing towards Wendes.

Wendes was well aware of its power and clumsily rolled continuously to dodge the storm's attack.

Li Ang glanced at Count Feinat and Elton Campbell beside him: "You guys get lost, there's nothing for you here now."

The two of them, together with Wendes' two brothers, were about to leave when Dorothy threw over two flower clusters that transformed into Demon-Born Flower Whippers, beginning to tear at them.

The Count and Elton were slashed and screamed continuously in agony.

Leona quickly went over to pull away the Demon-Born Flower Whippers.

"Senior, stop making mistakes."

Dorothy gave a playful smile to the Dragon Maiden, and that momentary beauty stunned the latter, but inside she felt even more complicated and in turmoil, unable to control her tears as she sobbed, "Why did it have to turn out like this."

Li Ang looked at Dorothy: "Did you vent enough?"

He intended to clear the others to ensure that the fight with the Annihilation Knight wasn't hindered.

As a guild-registered Sky Knight and temporary partner with the Order Sky Knight Corps, there couldn't be a slew of casualties; otherwise, he would lose his name of justice and become a fugitive for mass slaughter.

However, with Dorothy's pent-up rage over the years, Li Ang wouldn't interfere with some retaliation.

The half-elf maiden giggled: "Not yet, but it's good for now; I'll deal with my brother and father later."

Leona seemed to have finally realized something and glared at Li Ang: "This is your doing, isn't it!"

She shouted: "Who are you? You appeared yesterday, and how did it come to this? How did you enchant the senior? Are you forcing a marriage?! How dare you!"

She then looked at Dorothy: "Senior, tell me you were merely coerced—"

"Enough, Leona."

Dorothy calmly interrupted the Half-Dragon Maiden's urgent words.

"I've already told you yesterday."

The maiden was stunned: "What you said about finding your own path? Does that mean eloping with a Sky Knight you've just met?"

Dorothy shook her head, her gentle demeanor as beautiful as a fairy in the woods.

"You've never understood me, you never knew what I truly wanted."

"I, I..."

"You're too naive and too immersed in your own imagination."

Leona was momentarily speechless.

"Because that part of you is somewhat like me, I've always stayed by your side.

"But now I have things I want to do. If you persistently block my way, I can't regard you as a friend anymore."

Leona felt struck by lightning, her body wavering, unable to stand even with her strong tail for support, and collapsed directly to her knees.

"Hurry and leave; it will soon be very dangerous here," Li Ang told her.

Leona gritted her teeth, staring at Li Ang: "I'm not leaving, I can't accept this... You, I'll remember you..."

Dorothy approached the Half-Dragon Maiden, as the latter eagerly reached out, only to be deftly avoided, missing her attempt to embrace her legs.

The half-elf maiden shook her head and sighed: "This friendship game is over."

Leona's pupils shrank fiercely, and she collapsed entirely, unable to move.

Dorothy released several Demon-Born Flower Whippers to carry her out of the chapel.

With Li Ang's help, Wendes was also easily captured, tightly bound by the flower vines released by Dorothy.

The Demon-Born Flower Vines drained the magic power he attracted; without magic power, he couldn't possibly break free from the bizarre vines of the Demon-Born Flower.

Outside the chapel, the sounds of intense battle grew louder and louder.

Lanslow charged in fiercely, followed closely by the Black Armored Knights, with several Destruction Thunder Blades swirling around, cutting everything they encountered to powder along the way.

"I'll head to the side, and not interfere with you," Dorothy said, binding Wendes and retreating to a distance.

Li Ang locked eyes with Lanslow and began the fight.
