Find a Troubled Girl after leaving the Guild

Chapter 73: Divine Eye Helmet

As planned, Li Ang was responsible for finding Wendes' equipment. The latter had originally planned to have a specialist carry his equipment along, still maintaining some vigilance. However, during the dead of night, Li Ang had basically figured out the structure of the Count's Mansion, found the person in charge, and mingled with the crowd to follow this person closely all morning.

On the church's side, as long as Dorothy cooperated, they not only successfully incited a disturbance but also controlled Wendes, whom they aimed to capture.

After the Count left, the Annihilation Knight appeared as expected, and Lanslow lay in wait nearby.

Spiritual Activation set upon Lanslow's body, the young man exuded a grand aura. The metallic plating from the standard silver armor transformed into a dense multilayered structure, enveloping him in a set of flowing Transcendent Silver Armor.

The Annihilation Knight's great sword swept across with hidden thunder, and Lanslow deftly dodged. The silver armor got scraped off but instantly reformed. As long as he wasn't directly hit, he remained unscathed.

After several ineffective attacks, the Annihilation Knight stomped the ground, gathering bizarre magic power rapidly, as black lightning converged in front of the Divine Eye Helmet.

"He's about to unleash his Secret Technique!" Lanslow shouted.

During their conversation last night, the young man had mentioned that he got injured by the Annihilation Knight because he was affected by the roar unleashed using bizarre magic and the Horned Race's superhuman physique.

Even the energy wave's impact would temporarily render one immobile.

Li Ang refrained from using the wind magic through his equipment. In previous encounters, he discovered that even if the Wind Element penetrated the gaps of the Hell Armor to attack the knight's body directly, the enhanced flesh by the so-called Annihilator Flesh seemed inhuman, devoid of pain, and would be repaired by that tissue.

Therefore, he waited for this moment.

Secret Technique—Tumult of Ten Thousand Spirits!

The magic power dispersed into the surrounding space, causing all spirits to go out of control.

Lanslow withdrew, encompassing the Annihilation Knight within the spirit turmoil area.

The Annihilation Knight's magic power gathering process suddenly stalled. With his body twisting, purple biological tissue material surged out of the armor's gaps, making it impossible to maintain the power for unleashing the destructive roar.

Boom——!

The bizarre magic exploded into a mass of dark purple light waves in front of the knight. The ear-splitting sound echoed as the dispersing shock wave shattered all the stained glass windows in the whole church.

The Annihilation Knight trembled and knelt on one knee, marking the start of the counterattack.

Lanslow's sword and gun crossed, exerting the Secret Technique—Torrential Rain Assault. The spiritually activated Multiblade Sword split into raindrop-like floating metal blades, piercing through the gaps in the Annihilation Knight's armor, slashing the uncontrollable purple tissue directly.

In his other hand, he wielded a hand cannon spraying Water Element Magic Bullets, which caused extreme cold in the ice mode while immobilizing the knight.

Behind Li Ang, the Earth Serpent raised its head, Energy Transfer Scale Crown continuously flickering with gemstones. The Jadestone Beam refracted into a torrent of icy currents, gushing in unison with Lanslow's attack, nearly freezing the Annihilation Knight completely.

With the Wind Element Affinity gained from his current hand guard, and at his behest, the Pure Magic Wind tore through the dimensional membrane, delivering a thunderous multilevel slash against the frozen Black Armored Knight. Wind Elemental Creations moved with ease, swirling in the gust to amplify its power.

This series of attacks wasn't a blind energy bombardment but intentionally targeted at the bizarre flesh organization on the Annihilation Knight, which had become much more fragile after being affected by the spirit turmoil.

Under the joint attack of the two men and a serpent, the purple tissue finally failed to hold onto the knight, falling off piece by piece to the ground.

"Ughhhhhh!!!"

The more fell off, the more painful it became for the knight, finally screaming almost like a hellish demon, his entire body spraying black-purple light, transforming into a heap of scattered remnants drifting away.

"Finished him off!" Lanslow exhaled a long breath, "When this guy dies, he turns into ash, damn bizarre!"

The two-and-a-half-meter robust body turned entirely into flying ash. The spiked black armor decomposed into sharp metal pieces, but they completely lost spirituality, as did the great sword.

"It's a pity; you didn't get any spoils." Lanslow said.

"No."

Li Ang stepped forward to pick up the Annihilation Knight's helmet: "This one seems different."

This helmet, marked with a dark golden giant eye, still retained all its spirituality. Apart from that purple flesh, it was the most mysterious part of the Annihilation Knight.

After glancing at its stats panel, Li Ang knitted his brows, incredulous.

[Divine Eye Helmet]

[Faceless Dark Helmet, inconceivable by any third party as to how the wearer sees through it. Only the user, after wearing it, understands that as long as the spiritual rhythm can be seen, the world's essence is in its eye. —"We do not need eyes; the God's eye will see through the way for us"]

[Tier: 7]

[Category: Helmet]

[Defense Mode: Pure Magical Metal Structure]

[Equipment Skills: Sight Beyond Sight]

See the rhythm of spirits?

Even as a Tier Nine Curse Master with Spiritual Affinity, he could only deeply perceive, not "see."

[Skill: Sight Beyond Sight]

[Activation Method: Wear Divine Eye Helmet]

[Displays the patterns and activities of spirits in your view, the ability rightfully belonging to the manipulator of spirituality]

He wore the helmet, and instantly the world of spirits, once only residing in his perception, unravelled visually before him.

The world originally was divided only into the material dimensional nature and the supernatural magical dimensional realms, with spirits residing within the matter, part of the material world.

However, this Sight Beyond Sight seemed to "shield" the observation of matter, allowing him to see only the spirits.

Since everything has spirits, he only needed to adapt suitably. Wearing this helmet without observation holes didn't blind him, even seemingly propelling him to a higher level.

"Hey, let's go, lest things drag out." Lanslow patted Li Ang's shoulder.

Snapping back to focus, Li Ang stowed the helmet and proceeded along the intended breakout path.

This was his long-awaited lapse, involving his principal duties from many years of cultivation. Initially, he merely wanted to have a casual look, but because it overturned his past knowledge so much, he was dazed for a moment longer.

However, this short moment had no impact.

Without the Annihilation Knight, Spark Port couldn't form any effective blockade. The three, with Wendes in tow, reached a small noble port, where some people were hastily preparing to set sail, unsure if they were fleeing the chaos or following the Count's orders to quickly depart.

Dorothy's gown fluttered as she led the way to her small boat.

Butler Huo Fu, with guards, was standing watch. Dorothy smiled at the old butler, whom she had known for years, and her Demon-Born Flower Vine swept out, clearing the soldiers to the side.

"Miss—"

"Goodbye then."

Dorothy passed by the butler without looking at him.

In her rainbow-like eyes, there was only the azure sky ahead.

The boat set sail.

The internal combustion engine provided basic power, and the Magic Array blew out a stream of wind, lifting the small boat into the clear sky, away from Spark Island.

Li Ang, wearing the Divine Eye Helmet, clearly saw the Fire Spirit leaping within the internal combustion engine's cylinder and the spirit drawing magic power among the materials inscribing the Magic Array. He used Spiritual Manipulation, making the latter more active.

In an instant, the Magic Array received stronger magic power, releasing a powerful wind that propelled the boat quickly forward.

"Wow—hahaha!"

The boat suddenly accelerated, and Dorothy exclaimed with laughter, unaware of the anomaly, only feeling that Li Ang had cast magic, joyfully welcoming the swiftly approaching clouds.

Only Li Ang knew that with this helmet, he could perform Spiritual Manipulation more precisely and specifically.

What on earth is the Eye of God...?

"You've been wearing that helmet just now. Did you find anything?" Lanslow asked.

"I'll tell you after we're out of danger."

There was still a battle ahead.

The small boat was getting closer to the entrance of the waterway. The people on board could see that, across a strong wind wall in the Aerial Realm, many ships from the Flos Sky Realm were stranded outside the waterway entrance on the other side.

Blocking the route was an Empire's Magical Flying Ship, and on the ship, a Black Knight stood silently.

"We'll go over. You steer the boat away," Li Ang said to Dorothy.

The young girl's beautiful eyes carried a hint of worry: "Can't we just destroy his ship and let him fall to the Bottom of the Sky?"

"It's difficult with a strong individual like him. Before we destroy his ship, he could have time to jump onto ours with a burst of magic power. This ship can't withstand our battle, and it might endanger us instead."

"Alright then."

Dorothy steered the boat, and Li Ang used the Flying Technique to leave the boat.

While wearing the equipment he allocated for Wendes, his body weight halved. With wind control and the Flying Technique, flying for a stretch was no problem at all, while Lanslow was supported by his Wind Elemental Creation.

They landed on the deck, and the second Annihilation Knight turned around. He was also a member of the Horned Race, appearing more robust and sturdy. He wielded not a great sword, but a giant axe.

As he turned, he had already drawn a giant axe.

Lanslow sighed: "This guy is even tougher. If the last one used an axe, I would've been split in two last night."

"No worries, I'll counter him. Let's go."

Just as Li Ang finished speaking, a blade suddenly flew diagonally across the sky.

This blade was diamond-shaped, without a hilt to hold. As it appeared, the sunlight seemed absorbed by it, as if the Blade of Light could tear through the sky.

The slash flashed, and the Annihilation Knight's Hell Blade Armor shattered in response. Black blood spilled in a cone shape on the deck, and the horrific wound knitted together under the writhing of purple tissue.

However, more diamond-shaped blades flew overhead, with glints flashing continuously, almost shredding the entire set of black armor into scrap metal.

"Ugh—!"

The Annihilation Knight growled as he scanned around. His armor was shredded by the attack, yet he couldn't even see his enemy.

"Ah." Lanslow lost his fighting spirit: "This guy is doomed, but I might be too."

Behind Li Ang and Lanslow, an airy and high-pitched voice came, like the song of a mythical bird.

"Lanslow, I haven't been gone long, and the Ignis Sky Realm is in such a mess. You bunch of fish-swimming troupe members, truly disgraceful."

In the azure sky, a petite and adorable Douding Family young girl hovered, her intricately laced clothing and skirt fluttering in the wind.

Her features were like that of a cute, naive young girl of other races, but her brows and eyes conveyed an inherent nobility, not to be underestimated. Her long hair flowed like gold, and hair accessories with blade-like designs gathered her hair behind her ears, revealing her elegant jawline and exquisite, pointed ears.

Her sky-blue eyes were far from gentle, as if hiding countless sharp blades.

"So annoying, these fish can block the route, and you fish still get tied down in the sky realm. This one is a fish, that one is a fish, and there's even more work to follow."

The magic around her directed the diamond-shaped blades flying in the sky, all of them weapons made of pure magic material, directly created in the void by magic.

More and more flying blades came, forming a sword array, encircling the Annihilation Knight, concentrating to annihilate.

No matter how bizarre the purple tissue was, in this instant, as though being slashed by dozens of swordsmen, he was directly cut into innumerable pieces.

The falling purple tissue, trying to leap with black sparks, was swept again by the blades and could only turn to ash, vanishing in the high winds. Only the Divine Eye Helmet fell to the ground.

Li Ang squinted. Before a truly strong individual, a "Holy Knight" ranked top ten throughout the sky, the Empire's creations truly didn't hold up.

"Missy..."

Lanslow forced a wry smile, his peripheral vision caught Li Ang, as if recalling something, and he rushed over and clasped his shoulder.

"The person you wanted has been captured for you, making amends with merit!"
