My Happy Dragon Life With Supernatural Girls

Chapter 29: 29. Learning From Mother.

Vivian smiled softly then propped herself up a little before brushing a few strands of hair away from Aster's face. "You're right, dear. I do know your original name. But there's a reason I changed it."

"What's the reason?" Aster asked as he looked up at her curiously.

Vivian sighed softly before continuing. "Long ago, there was a demon called Asterion. He was a Minotaur King, and a former demon Lord, but during the Second Great War, he betrayed our kind and sided with the enemy, causing thousands of demons to die. Due to this, our people were forced to drive every single minotaur and tauren away from the continent."

Vivian paused as her eyes stared straight ahead before looking back at him. "Even now, the name Asterion brings pain and anger to many demons, so if Mommy had allowed you to keep your name, the nobles, elders, and your subjects would never look beyond the past. They would see you and instinctively remember him, and Mama didn't want her baby to face anything that would make him sad."

Aster smiled gently as he finally understood the reasoning behind his changed name.

Vivian had simply been protecting him from being misjudged, because if Aster had kept the name Asterion, most of the demons would have connected him to the Minotaur King, who had betrayed them centuries ago.

"I'm sorry, dear, for changing your name so suddenly. Mama didn't want her little dragon to carry the sins of someone else, and that's why I did what I did."

"I understand, and thank you so much, mother."

"You're welcome, dear."

"But why Astaroth?" He couldn't help asking.

"That's because Mommy likes the name Astaroth, and it's the closest name Mama could think of to your original name. Moreover, this way, Mama can simply call you Astaroth, or Aster, or even Astar. So, what do you think? Do you like those names?"

Aster smiled and nodded. "Yeah, I do."

"Ufufufu~ thank you, dear. That makes Mama really happy. Now, as for Lily's name, Mama decided to keep it that way because it's short for Lilian, which sounds a little like my name."

"What's your full name, Mama?"

Of course, he already knew what it was, but Aster had asked this question so that his mother would know that he was interested in learning more about her.

That small gesture made Vivian's heart melt instantly, especially since he called her Mama as well.

She lay back down and pulled him even closer before replying softly. "It's Vivian Dragneel Gremory. And that means yours is Astaroth D. Gremory, while your sister is Lilian D. Gremory."

Aster nodded in understanding then Vivian asked. "So, has Mama answered all of your questions now, dear?"

"Yes, and thank you once again," Aster replied with a faint yawn.

"Ufufufu~ anything for my sweet little prince. Now, let's go to sleep. We have a long day ahead of us, okay?"

Aster nodded drowsily before falling asleep against her soft, warm chest, while Vivian simply smiled and then whispered, "Goodnight, my little dragon."

Her smile widened even more when she noticed his pointy elf-like ears, which were a clear indication that he had awakened a new dragon trait in just two days.

The rate at which he was awakening his traits was certainly faster than most dragons she had heard of, but Vivian wasn't worried about this in the slightest.

Moreover, it took her a really long time to awaken the remaining part of her mutated bloodline, so Vivian was really curious to find out if the same thing would happen to Aster or if his would be different.

The next morning, the rays of sunlight flowed softly through the large window of the Queen's royal bedroom, brightening up the empty room.

A cool, relaxing breeze then brushed past the curtains as Vivian and her two beautiful children stepped through her bedroom door.

The three of them had taken their bath and eaten, so Vivian brought them back to her room to begin their history lesson.

Vivian sat cross-legged on the wide bed while her long crimson hair rested loosely over her shoulders.

She was wearing a silk ruby nightgown which had a high split along her left thigh, causing the smooth curve of her legs to show whenever she moved.

Meanwhile, Aster and Lily sat in front of her, with both of them wearing their new morning clothes.

Aster was wearing a simple white shirt and trousers while Lily was wearing a frilly nightdress which was tied with a pink ribbon at the waist.

They both sat down comfortably as they waited for their mother to begin and Vivian smiled as she watched them concentrate on her. "Alright, my little dragons. As promised, today we'll begin your first lesson, and Mama will be teaching you everything about the history of Evermore."

"Yay!!" Lily cheered softly as she clapped her hands in anticipation of today's lessons.

Meanwhile, Aster simply smiled warmly as he sat upright with a look of curiosity written all over his face.

Noticing their reactions, Vivian chuckled gently before extending her arm forward, and a soft barrier gently spread from her palm before enveloping the entire room.

She snapped her fingers and the world around them changed from Vivian's bedroom to an open field, with the three of them now sitting underneath an oak tree.

In fact, it looked like the three of them were on a picnic.

But more importantly, Aster couldn't help but be amazed by how the walls, the bed, and the ceiling had slowly dissolved into a panoramic, illusory world that didn't really look different from the real world.

Of course, they were technically still in Vivian's bedroom, because Aster could still feel the soft bed underneath him. But Vivian had chosen to do this because she wanted her children to listen to the world's history while feeling like they were really living in the past.

To assure them that everything in front of them was simply a part of her magic, Vivian waved her hand a little and two glowing butterflies appeared out of nowhere, fluttering their wings gently as they approached Aster and Lily.

Each time the butterflies flapped their wings, their bodies would change color, allowing them to look really beautiful, especially when they phased through Aster and Lily's hands as they both tried to catch the butterflies.

To bring their attention back to her, Vivian clapped her hands before saying. "Alright, my little dragons, if you want to know about Evermore, then you must know where it all began."
