My Happy Dragon Life With Supernatural Girls

Chapter 30: 30. Learning From Mother 2.

Vivian clapped her hands once, and they felt the grass beneath them rustle gently even though they were still sitting on her bed.

A soft and soothing breeze then brushed past Aster and Lily, and both siblings looked around with bright, curious eyes.

"Alright, my little dragons," Vivian began. "If you want to know about Evermore, then you must know where it all began. Long ago, before any kingdom or race existed, there were five primeval spirits who were living manifestations of the elements around us."

Vivian waved her hand, and five tiny elemental humanoid spirits appeared on the ground before them.

Each of the humanoid spirits was around the size of her palm, but they were glowing and had the shape of a cute chibi-like figure.

The fire spirit flickered like a small candle and it hopped from Aster's foot to Lily's foot.

The water spirit had little droplets of water dripping from it with every move it made, while the nature spirit made tiny flowers grow from the ground with every step it took.

The wind spirit was translucent and barely visible, but it swirled around like a tiny whirlwind with stubby arms.

And the light spirit floated above the ground, glowing like a little nightlight.

"Aww... they're so cute." Lily gasped as she watched all of these happen in front of her.

Vivian smiled and then continued. "These spirits were called Ignis, the spirit of fire; Aqua, the spirit of water; Gaia, the spirit of nature; Aeris, the spirit of wind; and Neriah, the spirit of light."

As she called out the names of the tiny spirits, each of them reacted differently;

Ignis bowed respectfully.

Aqua waved cutely.

Gaia placed a tiny flower beside Aster's knee.

Aeris spun around Lily's legs and Neriah hovered above the three of them like a floating lantern.

Aster and Lily smiled, and Vivian continued once more. "These spirits shaped the supernatural world and they created every living thing in it as well."

Vivian pointed at each little spirit again, and new illusions appeared beside them.

Next to Ignis, a chibi demon with little horns appeared and waved its hand.

Beside Aqua appeared a mini mermaid who swam around in circles.

Beside Gaia, a tiny beastman cub stood with pride and at the same time, a cute elf child with pointy ears stood beside Aeris.

And finally, next to Neriah, a miniature angel with tiny wings waved happily.

'Angels? So Angels exist in this realm?' Aster's eyes widened in surprise but he swiftly brought his attention back to his mother so he wouldn't miss anything important as she explained further.

"Everyone lived together peacefully for thousands of years… until something unexpected occurred… Ignis died."

The little fire spirit began to flicker, then it dimmed and vanished right before their eyes.

"Nooo! Mama! She disappeared!!" Lily gasped and Vivian nodded. "Yes, sweetie. It's alright."

"Now, no one really knew who killed her or how she died. Some believed that she was betrayed, while others believed she died naturally. But because of her death, the demons began to fight each other."

"Also, since Ignis was gone, that meant someone had to become the leader of the demon continent."

"But since they all had different opinions about what caused Ignis' death, all seven demon kingdoms couldn't come to an agreement on allowing a single demon to rule the whole continent."

"And as a result, the internal fighting continued throughout the years."

Vivian waved her hand and the illusion changed instantly.

The ground shifted into a battlefield with tiny chibi demon soldiers waving spears and shouting in squeaky voices.

Aster leaned forward as he watched the little battle in front of him with a look of excitement and curiosity.

He was excited because he knew his mother was using magic, and seeing how good she was at creating illusions made him happy, since he knew that one day, he would also be able to do the same.

As for his curiosity, Aster couldn't wait to find out what the demons would do now that Ignis was gone, and luckily for him, Vivian soon began to explain further.

"You see... when Ignis died, her elemental core shattered into a million pieces and fire mana filled the air, allowing demons to develop a strong affinity to fire magic."

Red glowing particles appeared around them, and Lily tried to grab one of them, but it passed through her fingers.

"During this period, demons improved their understanding and skills in using fire magic, and thus, they became the only race capable of using magic."

"After some time, the seven demon kingdoms finally agreed to put an end to their mindless wars."

"They acknowledged their shaky situation without a leader and finally decided to nominate the strongest demon in each kingdom as their rulers, and these demons became the first set of demon lords."

Seven tiny chibi demon lords appeared in a line, while puffing out their chests with pride.

"The seven demon lords joined forces to form the Demon Lord Council, with the aim of redirecting their rage toward the remaining four continents and the primeval spirits in charge of these continents."

Ignis had been a mother to all demons, and the reason they finally ended their battles was because they wanted revenge against the spirit who killed her.

"But I thought the demons couldn't find out who killed her?" Aster asked and Vivian nodded.

"Yes, but most demons knew that it was almost impossible for anyone to win against a spirit like Ignis, so if anyone could defeat her, then it had to be one of the other four primeval spirits."

"So, the demons decided to turn their attention and anger toward the four primeval spirits."

However, directly facing off against a primeval spirit was suicide, so the demons decided to aim for the angels, merfolk, beastmen, and elves instead.

"The seven demon kingdoms split themselves into three different forces and sailed across the sea to attack the beastmen, merfolk, and elven continents, all at once."

The illusions shifted into three miniature maps, showing tiny demon ships sailing across the ocean as they launch an attack on the three continents.

"The beastmen were the first to fall because Gaia had been against war and so didn't partake in it.

Rather, she turned a blind eye to the destruction the demons were causing."

"Feeling betrayed, the beast men fled from their continent and scattered themselves across the world."

"Some traveled to Neriah's continent while others decided to join forces with the elves and merfolk."

"However, the demons were still too strong for the merfolks to handle on their own."

"Since all three continents still had their primeval spirits and these spirits still had their cores intact, none of the inhabitants of these continents could use magic, making it impossible for them to stand against the demons."

"Even with the added help from the beastmen, the number of merfolks that died at the hands of the demons increased exponentially every day, so Aqua had no choice but to sacrifice herself to save her people."

"The primeval spirit of water destroyed her core for her people, and this made water-based mana particles spread across the merfolk continent, allowing the merfolk to gain the ability to use water-based magic."

"But since they had still been inexperienced in how to utilise water magic, there was very little they could do against the experienced demons who were already proficient in using fire magic."

"The same happened to the elves as well."

"Aeris sacrificed himself to save the elves, but his sacrifice was not enough to protect them."

In the end, the elves had no choice but to seek help from the harpies and angels.

"Did the angels agree to help them?" Lily asked.

Before arriving in the supernatural world, Vivian had informed Lily about the existence of angels, so the little girl couldn't help but feel excited, knowing that these supernatural beings were really residing in Evermore.

"Yes, dear. The harpies and angels happily joined forces to form an alliance against the demons. Even Neriah acknowledged the strength of the demons and the threat they posed to his children, so he forged a high-tier weapon, made from his core."

"But won't that kill him?" Aster asked

"It did, but not immediately, because Neriah split his core in half and forged a weapon with one of them, while the other half was further divided into two before he destroyed them."

Vivian added. "The destroyed cores released both light and dark mana particles into the air, giving rise to both light and shadow magic."

A shining sphere appeared out of Vivian's palm and split into two.

One half turned into a glowing sword while the other shattered into floating motes.

Some motes remained white while others turned purple.

Aster tried to touch them but the motes floated right through his fingers, and so he asked. "What happened to the weapon?"

"Once the weapon was activated, it destroyed everything within its radius. Thousands of demons, along with several innocent supernatural beings, were killed but only a few of them survived."

"This forced the demons to retreat to their home and finally, the First Great War came to an end."
