My Happy Dragon Life With Supernatural Girls

Chapter 36: 36. Lord Vulcan.

The council meeting chamber remained silent even after Vulcan took his seat.

His large biceps were also on display for all to see as he clasped all four arms together on the table.

"Now then. Let us proceed." He announced, and the other demon lords straightened their postures, with each of them ready to hear why the Pyro Demon Lord had summoned them so urgently.

Vivian propped her elbows on the table and rested her chin on the back of her hands while Isabella gently stirred her tea.

Vulcan tapped the table twice before speaking again. "Alright, the first thing I want everyone to know is that reports have come in from the southern regions. Spirit beasts and magical beasts seem to be appearing more frequently than usual."

Isabella raised her brows before asking. "Are you sure?"

"Yes, I am," He replied. "And I'm sure many of you have noticed this in your kingdoms as well."

Some of the demon lords silently nodded; they, too, had received similar reports in their territories, and Vivian wasn't an exception either.

This was the very same issue Aster had unknowingly seen when he visited her study yesterday, and she had asked him to find a possible solution.

Had he been able to read the scroll, Aster would have realized that it described a recent spirit-beast attack on a nearby settlement.

But since he had been unfamiliar with the words on the scroll, Aster had simply dropped it with a cute pout before admitting to Vivian that he couldn't understand the words.

Remembering the sight of Aster shyly putting the scroll down and boldly asking her to teach him about the supernatural world made Vivian's lips curve into a gentle smile.

The memory warmed her chest, and she suddenly felt a strong urge to see her precious little children again.

She couldn't wait to leave the meeting and cuddle her little dragons as long as she could.

After all, what mother wouldn't? Especially when both of her children were far too adorable to resist.

'Aw, I have to hurry up and leave this place.' Vivian uttered urgently in her thoughts.

'Once I return home, I'm giving them a hundred kisses on both of their cheeks to show them how much I missed them during the meeting.'

Vivian mentally decided on what she would do once the meeting was over, so during the meantime, she swiftly pushed the distracting thoughts aside before recalling the pile of scrolls Aster had noticed in her private study.

Most of the scrolls were reports about magical beasts and corrupted spirit sightings, and considering what Vulcan said just now, coupled with how the other demon lords had nodded their heads in agreement, Vivian was certain that everyone had received reports about similar occurrences in their kingdoms as well.

"So, what are you trying to say?" One of the male demon lords asked while crossing his arms with a stern look on his face. "Are you implying that Gaia is behind all these?"

"I never said that." Vulcan narrowed his eyes as he glared at the male demon.

"But you're thinking it." Another demon lord muttered and the room fell silent.

No one wanted to openly accuse Gaia of being responsible for the things they were noticing around their kingdoms, but deep down, they all believed that Gaia might be up to something once again, and this made most of the demon lords nervous about what might happen in the near future.

Well, most of them were nervous, except Vivian of course.

The Dragon Queen leisurely sipped from her tea as she listened quietly to Vulcan's explanation. "There's more. We aren't the only ones who noticed these incidents, because the Beastmen seemed to be experiencing something similar as well. In fact, I heard the scale tribes and claw tribes have had two spirit beast tides this year alone."

"Experiencing a beast tide isn't something we should be worried about." Isabella pointed out as she took a sip of her tea.

"That is true, but tides like these only occur once in a decade, not twice in a year," Vulcan replied.

"Well, maybe it's because the Beastmen are weak, so they weren't able to cut down the spirit beasts wandering around their region before the tides began."

"I highly doubt that, but I do believe their recent conflicts must have blinded them to the fact that the spirit beasts were slowly gathering themselves right underneath their noses."

"The Beastmen are at war with each other?" A male demon Lord asked.

"No, not exactly. It's more like they're in a disagreement with each other about something very important to them, but I don't know the exact details of the conflict." Vulcan informed them as he took a sip of his tea as well.

"Alright, so what about the merfolk?" Isabella asked. "I heard rumors about there being a discord among their royal families a few years ago, is this true?"

Vulcan nodded in response. "Yes, it's been decades now and it seems their political division keeps worsening by the year."

"So, in a nutshell, every continent is experiencing unrest, is that correct?"

"More or less, but there have been a few good changes as well."

"Like what?" A male demon asked.

"We all know what the Minotaur and Taurens did, and how we forced them out of our lands. Well, even the beastmen couldn't trust them, so they restricted them to a small, infertile land, leaving them to fend for themselves.

But now, for the first time in centuries, the beastmen believe the Minotaurs and Taurens have earned their trust, so they've now been relocated to a better land."

Hearing this, the council members murmured in surprise at the news because even if Vulcan hadn't said anything about it, everyone could easily deduce that a certain beastmen tribe must have moved the minotaurs and taurens into their territory with the hope of building a closer relationship before things turned south with the other tribes.

Acknowledging this fact, the murmuring in the room increased a little further, but a certain demon lord who had been quiet all this time suddenly folded his arms before leaning back in his chair.

He was a Capra Demon, and as such, he had a huge pair of curved goat horns and a deep voice as he spoke.

"You all are getting worked up for nothing. Do you all really believe that Gaia would cause a Third Great War simply because of a few minor conflicts between tribes? Gaia isn't dumb enough to do something like that, so let's stop this mindless worrying about other continents and simply focus on why Vulcan summoned us here."

"Now." The Capra Demon continued as he stared at Vulcan. "Tell us why you've really summoned us here."
