After their bath, Vivian dried Lily's hair with magic, making it fluff up like cotton.
"Hehehe." The little girl giggled at how puffy her hair was but then Vivian turned toward Aster and noticed that he was about to get a set of clothes from the wardrobe.
"Oh, wait a minute dear. Mama will help you pick your clothes today." The dragon queen skipped happily toward the wardrobe and began to hum while shaking her hips as she searched for what he would wear that day.
However, Aster furrowed his brows when he noticed that Vivian was picking up clothes that were more suited for outings than for staying indoors.
"Huh? Are we heading out today?"
"Ufufufu~ maybe we are, maybe we're not. I guess we'll have to find out." Vivian cupped his cheeks gently before kissing his forehead.
Then she pulled out a nice pair of clothes from the wardrobe and dressed him up.
Moments later, Aster stood still while Vivian fixed the collar of his coat.
He was now wearing a dark blue royal jacket with a white shirt underneath, a nice pair of pants, and polished boots that made him look taller than usual.
Even his messy hair had been brushed neatly to the side and a small Gremory Household crest had been placed on his chest.
Meanwhile, Lily stood beside her big brother, clutching the hem of her soft, pink-and-white dress.
The dress twirled softly whenever she moved and the little golden ribbon tied at her waist made her look even more adorable.
Vivian also styled Lily's hair into two ponytails to make her look extra cute before stepping back to have a good look at her beautiful children.
"There. My little dragons look perfect."
Both Aster and Lily smiled but they were still wondering why their mother had dressed them up like this.
"Alright, you two. It's time for us to leave."
"Where are we going?" Aster asked and Lily added.
"Yeah, Mama, where are we going?"
"Ufufufu~ patience, my little ones." Vivian giggled before skipping away like a little girl who had just received the best gift for Christmas.
"Mm, mm, mm," She continued to skip and hum sweetly as she came out of the room, leaving both Aster and Lily to glance at each other with a puzzled look.
"Lily?"
"Yeah?"
"Your Mama is acting weird today."
"Hehehe~ don't you mean our Mama?"
Aster smiled and gently patted her head. "Yeah, I guess you're right."
"Hurry up, you two, or Mama will leave you guys behind," Vivian called out from the corridor and both of them immediately hurried out of the room.
Upon stepping out of the castle, Aster and Lily noticed the royal carriage awaiting their arrival.
They also noticed the two large winged bicorns, and Aster was finally able to take a good look at the massive beast.
The winged bicorns had purple fur with lilac eyes and a huge pair of green horns that curved naturally to the back.
The beasts pawed the ground and snorted, a puff of mist seeping out of their nostrils.
"Woooah..." Lily stared in awe at the two large beasts and Vivian gently pulled her into the carriage with Aster trailing behind them.
Once seated, Vivian tapped the carriage wall and the carriage began to move on its own.
Aster noticed that he hadn't seen Hallie, Sara, or Cara all morning, but he wasn't bothered by this because he knew that his mother must have sent them off on an errand, hence their reason for not returning yet.
Meanwhile, the wheels moved in a rhythmic and calming manner as the entire carriage began its descent from the floating citadel, and Aster pressed his hand to the window as he watched the clouds drifting past them.
Within seconds, the capital city slowly came into view and Aster noticed different colors of smoke in the sky.
These smokes were rising from the different smoke fountains located throughout the city, but what really caught his attention was the noise coming from within the city.
"Why is everywhere so loud in the morning?" Aster asked but Vivian simply chuckled as she tried to avoid answering his question.
Luckily for him, the carriage descended further, allowing Aster and Lily to have a better view of the city and the demons awaiting their arrival.
"Whoa!!" Both Aster and Lily exclaimed in shock because on every rooftop, balcony, and street in the entire city, demons of various shapes and sizes had come together for their homecoming party.
Tens of thousands of demons stood waiting for their arrival, but the moment they noticed the royal carriage descending, a line of fireworks shot straight into the sky.
Well, it looked like fireworks, but it was actually a few demons shooting fireballs out of their fingertips and aiming them straight to the sky, to welcome their new rulers.
"They're here!!" A little female demon yelled and her mother followed.
"Guys, they're here!!"
"Everyone, it's time. Now, one, two, three, Go!!!"
"WELCOME PRINCE ASTAROTH!!"
"WELCOME PRINCESS LILIAN!!!" Hundreds and thousands of demons shouted as they welcomed their prince and princess.
Aster's eyes widened even more, and Lily covered her mouth with both hands, but Vivian smiled and knelt behind them before wrapping an arm around both of them.
"Since my babies wanted gifts and tributes from their royal subjects, Mama thought it would be nice to set up a royal banquet after all. So, what do you think?"
"I love it!!!" Lily exclaimed excitedly because just a few weeks ago, she had been in a hospital, worried about how long her body would hold up before she joined all the other children who had suffered from a similar illness.
But now, Vivian had given her a new chance to experience things she never could have imagined possible, and the little princess couldn't help but love her mother even more.
"Fufufu~ Mama is so happy to hear that sweetie, but the fun has barely even started."
Hearing this, Lily gasped and swiftly turned to her mother. "Does that mean we'll get gifts and presents?"
"Of course, dear. You'll be receiving hundreds and thousands of gifts today and every single one of them will be for you and your brother alone." Vivian giggled and rubbed her nose against the little princess's nose, causing Lily to giggle. Then she stared back at the window in anticipation of what type of gifts she would be receiving today.
Looking out the window, Lily noticed that thousands of demons had already gathered at a massive plaza which seemed to be where the royal carriage was headed.
The carriage slowly touched down at the plaza's entrance and a wave of excited murmuring instantly rippled through the crowd.
"Oh my stars, they are about to land."
"Yes, we'll get to see our prince and princess soon."
"Oi, don't forget about our beautiful queen too."
"How could I ever forget about my idol?"
"Hehehe~ I'm so happy right now."
"Me too, because it's been centuries since I last saw the Queen's face."
"And now, we'll be seeing her children's faces as well."
"I know, right?"
"I'm so glad to be alive right now."
"Me too "
"Me three ."
"Shh, be quiet. Look, look. The carriage doors are about to be opened."
Everyone suddenly turned silent as they watched the carriage land and two of Vivian's jack-o'-lantern knights slowly approach the carriage doors.
