Liora's hands moved rapidly.
Arrows shot one after another from her exquisite bow, streaking straight through the golden skyline.
Each time an arrow left, a muffled cry would soon follow, with each scream representing the fall of a True Knight.
It didn't take long.
The total number of True Knight cultists in the stronghold numbered only in the few dozen.
With the Holy Knights besieging them and the walls of the Holy Knight Array restraining them, no member of the Necronomicon Sect could possibly evade her attacks.
Before long, the final True Knight collapsed to the ground with several swords piercing through his flesh.
Seeing this, Liora didn't fire any further, allowing the bow and arrows to dissolve.
She let the Holy Knights continue the hunt for the Knight Apprentices while her gaze shifted towards the central building—the place where the battle between the True Devil and the robed woman was taking place.
Instantly, her eyes narrowed.
The two discordant auras were becoming increasingly obvious, and, by now, the battle's aftermath was almost affecting the surface.
This meant that the fight was reaching its peak, and it wouldn't take long for the victor to be decided.
Of course, Liora could already guess who that winner would be.
'I hope that the robed woman can persist for a little longer. It would be best if she forced the Devil to consume most of his faith.'
Unfortunately, life often worked in strange ways.
The moment that thought arose in Liora's mind, the ground and the barracks began to tremble.
At their center, the main building—the source of this violent vibration—was the most impacted.
The reinforced walls made of countless precious materials crumbled while the furniture and items stored inside shattered, turning to dust.
Before long, the entire central building had evaporated, becoming ruins that scattered across the earth.
With its fall, a large "hole" was revealed where it originally stood.
Within that hole, two constantly flickering lights were clashing, one bloody red and one golden.
Quickly, the two colors grew deeper, as if their sources were getting closer.
Or rather, higher.
The first to exit the hole was the golden light, which soared into the sky and was about to flee.
Yet, less than a split second later, the red light pursued it.
Once again, the two lights began battling in the air, causing the air around them to split apart.
The outcome of their collisions, though, was obvious.
The golden light was continuously knocked back and sent flying, while the red light chased after it relentlessly.
The appearance of these two lights startled the already panicked members of the Necronomicon Sect.
As far as they could see, two radiant lights were constantly clashing in the air, sometimes flying high and sometimes descending.
They would bring devastation upon the land every time they got close to the ground, thrashing buildings and erasing anyone who dared to block their path from existence.
In horror, the many Knight Apprentices could only try their best to get out of the two lights' way, to varying degrees of success.
Unlike those weaklings, Liora could see what was truly taking place.
With her strength and with a full view of the two lights, she instantly recognized their identities.
Just like she had expected, the golden light represented the robed woman, while the red represented the unknown True Devil.
The two seemed to be caught in a fierce battle as if they were evenly matched, yet Liora could see that this was simply not true.
In her field of vision, the robed woman could no longer be considered robed, as most of her clothes had been torn and were riddled with holes.
However, her current appearance was neither alluring nor seductive.
Her entire skin was covered in deep scratches and dripping with blood, while a deep bite mark could be seen on the left side of her shoulder, exposing the cracked bones beneath it.
Though she carried the holy scepter and continually cast abilities, it was clear that the delicate balance could not be maintained for long.
The holy light at the tip of the scepter was slowly becoming dimmer, signaling that the robed woman's Life Force was about to run out.
Although Liora was a little disappointed that the woman could not endure it any longer, she soon felt relieved.
It was already astonishing enough that the woman had managed to hold off against a True Devil for so long.
If she were to last any longer, Liora would have to wonder whether the two of them were performing an act, all in order to fool her.
Since Liora could see the two warring parties and analyze their situation, the robed woman and the unknown Devil had also caught wind of her.
It's just that the latter chose to ignore her for the time being, while a look of delight flashed across the former's face, as if she had met her savior.
She glanced at Liora, the scepter in her hand, and then at the menacing True Devil, and seemed to have made a difficult decision.
A trace of uncertainty flickered in her eyes as her fingers brushed against the precious gem embedded in the scepter.
Unfortunately, though reluctant, she understood that this was the only way that she could survive.
Thus, she gritted her teeth and took action.
The knuckles of the hand holding the scepter turned white while her mouth opened, and she mumbled a string of low words that seemed to carry an inexplicable power.
Suddenly, the gem on the tip of the scepter fractured.
From within the crack, a golden light shot out and, as if it had located its target, rushed towards the True Devil.
However, the light didn't cause any damage.
Instead, it quickly dissolved into pure light, as if the robed woman had failed to activate her trump card.
But the unknown Devil didn't laugh at her blunder.
Not because he was being courteous, but simply because he couldn't.
The moment the golden light touched him, a deep crimson color flashed within his pupils while his consciousness went hazy.
Instinctively, he stopped suppressing his Devil nature. His body squirmed and began elongating, returning to his true Devil form.
